what if I've got your future fixed? what if I had told you that by the wake of the day you would need not labour again? what if the phrase "bed of roses" becomes the reality you swim in; that you would need not raise a hand to get a water to sooth your thirsty soul? what if by tomorrow you are nowhere to be found in this realm where suffering has pitched its tent and all you've got before your gaze is eternity standing akimbo before you, showering on you that look that is better described as, "you can't tell me you missed Christ all the while you were on the planet called earth"?
so we have floated on the assumptions, gave no room for convictions, in fact, we have crowned ourselves demagogues happily pushing God to the side. they tell us about the wages of sin and the blessings of righteousness and all we ask is, "what if God is just a religious fabrication, a construct of the moralist?"
so many things waiting for us to question their veracity, so many things the man of flesh would never be able to grasp, so many things begging for validation from the spirit man... and at the point of confirmation, our "what ifs" would reveal their foolishness: then we would understand that God is not and can never be a figment of our weak imagination...

TO MY DEAR HUSBAND
Even as my heart spit its bitterness, more swells within. My soul breaches on a daily basis by the sorrow our union has brought. I am plagued, torn and ripped into shrewd of miseries. I let go of my tears yet more is left to spill and my throat hungers for the blood thirsty blades of a knife to end what seems to be the remains of a ruined life.
I recall those days your voice made my heart swung merrily on stars. The joyful tears which leaked when I opened my eyes to see you and closed them to picture you. The journey of what we once shared began the exact day your gentle smile made my heart quivered. So,I envisioned our love as an orchid of morning glories and roses. From an heartfelt kiss to a soft stare ,I painted a world of beautiful colours. You did too. Didnt you? You ran wild in my thought and every moment with you, i prized. But why Raymond? What happened to the love we once shared and the passion that flared? Happiness is far fetched and dark grief clouds me. Our home is no better of than ruins. It injures my pride. Our love has gone sour and cold. I saw the state you left the house seven months ago when I announced to you I was filling a divorce. Panic and bitterness stricken ,you were helpless and weak to your knuckles. I saw it all, the dark anger and frustration in yours eyes and the tears you fought successfully to keep back. I was in no better state than yours myself. I hated it all,yes the bruises and blows that came with the fact that you and our marriage didn’t meet up to my expectations or should I say dreams?
I do not want to render complains about you this time but to mourn my hopeless woe for the choice I had made which now holds my conscience at stake. I want the divorce no more. You maybe surprised to hear that but the truth is, when you left, i was sore with pains, dishevelled, dispirited with emptiness. In that terrifying time,I sought help tearfully and found it in the scriptures. I seeked God diligently through his words. I realized, that I never loved you .As sincere as this confession, it wounds my pride because its ashaming. Christ led me to a particular scripture. 13th book of Corinthians and love was the whole picture. If love be patient, tenderly kind, graciously merciful, selflessly and cheerily giving, enduring, bearing, believing, hoping, seeking not my own, long suffering and even to the extent of seeing no wrong. I realized, my love for you wasn’t in complete sincerity. My heart is plagued with guilt and Gods word has whiped my heart to bleed its filth. I came to know also that love is not assumed but learnt and built from the very role model who loved the church and selflessly laid down his life for man “Jesus” .You see,I am changed. Christ word has transformed my deformed heart.
I am very much sorry for the bittered complains, outbursts of wrath and anger. Self seeking and slowness in forgiving and forgetting. Those loopholes now makes me gnash my teeth in agony.
If you would give me a chance, I am set to build our home on the foundation which is true- Christ.
Raymond, the more I labour in his words is the more am chastised and more I fall deeply in love with you as it were in the beginning. Sincere love doesn’t fail- 1st Corinthians 13v8. If love be true, it overcomes all forms of adversity, its genuity makes it grow stronger with each assault upon its existence because it is other centered not self-centered. Protected in humility which blossoms only in the lowly minds. I have held your heart in mine believing it would heal. So each day,I render an heartfelt prayer to God- one who creates and recreate things to give us a new home. I have spiced my life with the love and affection Christ has taught me. Friends, families alike can testify to it. However,I plead to you to come back home and let’s make use of the bibles principle to heal our home. God is never promising us it is going to be as easy as eating bread and wine but with selfless giving and grace which he has made available to us,we could stand the test of time. Conclusively,I missed you so much and send to you across the miles,my tender love , warm embraces and my most passionate kiss. Please come back home sweet peas.
TERROR ATTACKS AND SOLIDARITY: MY REFLECTIONS
This was written shortly after the November 2015 mass terror attacks in Paris
Following the recent attacks in Paris, France, in which at least 129 people are believed to have lost their lives, I’ve been forced to reflect upon a number of things. As is usually the case, certain themes are brought to the fore when such tragic things happen: why certain people have become “so evil” that they have given themselves to destructive causes like terrorism; what the proper response should be to such attacks; what the role of government is in safeguarding lives and property; and a myriad of other pertinent issues.
But the one which I’d like to look at here, is the nature of the emotions that are expressed following these events. Specifically sympathy and solidarity. I’ll try to probe into these outpourings, and examine them from the Christian perspective.
I sympathize with the friends and families of the victims involved in these attacks; whether they be in Paris, New York, London, Madrid, Beirut, Baghdad, Kabul, Maiduguri, or elsewhere in the world which has seen terror rear its devilish head. I’m moved by the accounts I hear of these events, by the shaking voices of people whose loved ones have been lost, recounting the times they shared together. Sometimes, I’ve had to fight back tears. Its only natural, it seems, that we should react sympathetically, giving support and “stand together united, determined to preserve our freedoms, saying no to the enemy of our collective peace”.
But I fear that we all too often get carried away by these floods of general “collectivism”. I ask a simple question here: what is the basis for this solidarity, this togetherness that crosses divisions, brings us all together, regardless of race or creed? Let me put it this way: are there such things as “values we all hold dear and cherish, regardless of faith”? Maybe there are; But are we really suggesting that there can be peace and safety in this world for all (even if only in theory),understanding and togetherness, which even conquers that which divides us (including the faith of those of us who are Christians; we’re “the called out ones”, aren’t we?) What are these values?
There are two things that bother me here:
1. There is a “uniting” of wills and of resolve, the basis of which is undefined. While we say we must stand together against terror, what is it really that unites us? Hatred for man-made pain? If that is the case, I think I can do what is considered sufficient in Christ likeness- the love and charity in action -without joining in on activism that is not based upon Christ.
2. Following from the above, there is the danger that we get sucked into the whole ‘this-worldly’ view of life’s events and themes. And this view doesn’t always rhyme with the view of Christ. In fact, I daresay that it rarely does.
It is this second point that I want to emphasize. For every worldview, there is an underlying presupposition. For every belief system, there is a foundational idea or set of ideas; and sometimes those who hold them are aware of what they are. But more often than not, they’re not. And that’s the dangerous part of it all. I do not see any possibility that we honestly arrive at a sweeping agreement about what the “universal human ideals” are with people who have a view of what man’s existence is all about which is worlds apart from ours. There might be apparent agreement on a few points, but to what extent must we all agree, and also, agree to disagree? and on what?
I also reject the implicit argument from “secular ideals” being offered up even by some Christians. Do secular ideals determine our response to issues? Shouldn’t it be Christ? Is Christ a secularist?
Forget the vague “values that unite us”. Forget the slippery slope which may eventually trap us in the cage of rampaging secularism, that wants cowardly, cow-towing faith for all (that is, if atheism or agnosticism is considered unaffordable), just so that we can unite. Surely, we can love, be sympathetic, help out, save, and share in others’ suffering- because Christ did. Not because some vague sense of “collective will to defend human rights” which has an obscure basis, enjoins us to do so. Christ is our example. He did not seek solidarity from or with “other ways”, for he was, and still is, the way.
What is the Will of God today?
It’s His will 2000 years ago
Jesus answered this when his disciples brought him food even though He was hungry
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.(John4:34)
His will is far beyond our delight, our daily needs, including food.
Gods will has never changed!
It’s not the world’s economic revolution
Or political power.
No.
If it were,Jesus would have overthrown Herod, Pilate etc
He didn’t come for their seats.
His kingdom is in the hearts of men
Hence Paul was clear when he asked that we prayed for kings and rulers
1Timothy2 :1-2
This is the focal reason
2.4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
All men,our friends,family,office colleagues,neighbours,etc
This should dominate our conversations
Our gists
Some have said”how do I share the gospel”
I usually ask them”how do you start gists in class, office, with neighbours? ”
You know how to preach!
You aren’t just ready to!
Today,yes this day
Start a gist around and about salvation with a facebook friend, office colleague or classmate who is yet to believe!
Do it!
Today!
Okay?
You have a splendid day.
I call you blessed Jesus is Lord,we win!

DESTINY-ATION 4
THE JOURNEY
So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him
Genesis 12:4
So I know you want to fulfil destiny. I hear all the amazing things God has told you, the promises, the plans, the strategies and yet I’m wondering
“Why on earth are you sitting on all of this, acting like you’ve got no place to go? I mean few minutes ago, one would think you had no clue what the word destiny even meant”.
Now how on earth do we end up here?
Sure too many reasonable and unreasonable reasons would pop up but hey I’m not interested in that, there’s not enough time to discuss that. Get up and get going!
Abram heard the call and I tell you, he didn’t wait till months later or till he saved up enough capital for this travelling business; He just up and went.
“Wait up now dude, are you saying we should not prepare?”
Ummm. YES. Seriously, I know it sounds kinda unreasonable but better put I’m saying the moment you get instructions you should start acting on them. I tell you if Abram had spent a day between God’s speaking and take-off, any passer-by would only have to see Abram to know he was about to travel.
Look like where you’re going
I’ll tell you what delays people into ever achieving their dreams: EXCUSES (and I tell you this from first-hand experience). Now many people would associate excuses with laziness but in reality, excuses are basically anything reasonable and unreasonable, commendable and otherwise that stops you from getting results.
So basically if you’re ever going to look for an excuse you’re going to find one. Always. If you’re still wondering what your sustenance would be I’ll tell you Abram’s, he went based on the word from the Lord. So it’s simple…
GO ON THE WORD…it never fails.
And please, please, please, start NOW, not tomorrow, not next week, not when you have a partner, NOW…NOW…NOW! Seriously, right this moment, NOW! Don’t wait another second, start the journey to your destiny. The journey of a thousand miles they say starts with a step. Make that step today.
Read on… its totally gonna be worth it!
DESTINY-ATION 3
Get you out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father’s house, unto a land I will show you
God. (Genesis 12:1)
Abram’s instruction was to leave not just his home but his country as well, his family. Not so cool, right?
However, before you do anything rash, this was Abram’s instructions not yours but nonetheless we can learn something from it still and note this:
The call always propels you out of your comfort zone.
If your ‘call’ keeps you in the norm, along the lines of what you know and consider familiar or what you feel is feasible, then listen again.
Now notice something peculiar; Abram’s call did not specify his destiny-ation per se, it only made one thing clear, he would have to rely totally on Gods geographical mastery and faithfulness to see this through. So God says go , my friend just go. You don’t have any idea as to where you are going but go. No idea how long it might take, still go. God says,
“Trust me, that is good enough”.
To my folks who are not so sure about where exactly you’re heading to in this ‘destiny’ thing, well things are not as bad as you paint them in fact God is excited to lead you just the way you are. So the answer to your question on how to discover destiny is quite simple:
Trust God. Follow God
Beautiful, ain’t it?
But hey that’s just the call, we ain’t got there yet. Stay put, read on and yeah before I forget the promises that follow this call are always spectacular, something too big to comprehend, too massive to believe but I tell you it is possible. You’ve got God on this one with you.
Seriously read on!
DESTINY-ATION 2
Now this is the point where you might want to get a Bible and read through Genesis 12&13. (I’ll be making a lot of reference to that)
THE CALL
You know that nagging feeling you’ve got in your chest, that certainty that you have what it takes to be great, impactful, that thing that makes you look to the mountain tops and see nothing but possibility; you just know there’s something more and yeah, you can’t shut down that feeling so quit trying because you my friend has heard the call.
“What now?” you say…
I tell you it’s your innate identity calling forth for manifestation. This call leaves you yearning for heights you’ve not yet reached. It promises you the world at your fingertips. When you got it you got it. You can deny it but please don’t numb it, don’t ignore it, now is the time to listen carefully. Suffice me to say that if you go ahead to do something about this without God being involved you might find yourself in a good old shipwreck and oh how great your frustration would be. So please do yourself a favour,
GET GOD INVOLVED
If you have not given your life to Jesus Christ’s care, you desperately need to now. I tell you it was the best decision I ever made and I’m undoubtedly sure that it would be yours too.
(If you have no one who you can talk to immediately, just say the salvation prayer at the top right pane of this page in faith and then you can send us a mail to our official address: christapoet@gmail.com for further questions, prayer or counselling)
So now that you’ve got God in, what you want to do is listen, instructions are on their way.
Stay tuned…
DESTINY-ATION
Watch your thoughts; they become words
Watch your words; they become actions
Watch your actions; they become habits
Watch your habits; they become character
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny
Frank Outlaw
As many times as the word destiny is used, it is quite a shock the number of people who are left clueless at the question of their destiny. Now this ain’t a quick fix so I don’t want you to read this looking for a definite answer to that one question as it applies to you, rather I hope by reading you’ll find yourself map, because in my opinion as humble as it is I believe you’re in search of not just your destiny but a destination; hence the coinage Destiny-ation.
Now for folks who like my dictionary feel I’m talking about fate and its inevitability: you may not get me. Be aware that I speak of purpose, I speak of a predetermined course that holds the key to your fulfilment as a human being; it is as easy to miss as it is to obtain. Better put, I’d say it is the reason you were created. Many don’t believe in this but history has proved over time that those who don’t have often come to realize at their sunset days that they were dismally wrong.
So yes, we all got a destiny; something we ought to do, someone we ought to be in the nearest future. It is our purpose, it is the reason we breathe, in it lies our fulfilment. The question however that bugs more than a few is how to discover it, to know it, so that one can focus and achieve that one thing that makes all the difference.
In this short series, we look to understand and wield the truth of destiny.
To be continued.
