EVERYDAYJESUS’ ‘Learn’!

Being surrounded by an armada of advisers could be tiring that at some points, you feel like driving your life as you please.

You just want to tell them that you are no more their little boy or girl that you could do things right without them forgetting that Proverbs 11:14 suggested that multitudes of counsel is safety while, like the fool in Proverbs 12:15, we follow our own inclinations.

Plunging deeper into the wrong water and plying the wrong route, claiming ‘over men’, we still fall under the ropes that we should have walked on.

Yet we know not how to help ourselves.

We see how unfledged we are so we lift our voice like the author of Lamentations 5:21, asking them to come to our aid but the funny story is that they have tagged us the People of Jeremiah 7:26-28. And are demanding that we do according to Jeremiah7:29, yet the parable of hair cutting still remain unfathomable.

That was our lot for he that is stiff necked will be suddenly destroyed but thank God for Jesus whose Mercy endureth forever and we were not consumed.

EVERYDAYJESUS is our communion!

Sitting here and waiting fast,

Hoping I’m forgotten last,

When is it I wrote last?

Shoulders like a Glo mast.

When I was a member people washed me like a body,

Now there are fine-artists, making up the way to make it.

But what is it I’m trying to make?

From which dream am I to wake?

What I wanted now is mine,

Yet I just redrew each line.

We are the smiles that were aimed to please you;

The sentences colored with ‘Sirs’ and ‘Please’ too.

Appropriation will still be the M.O.

But speed is not key, we win in slow-mo.

No hidden agendas, no need for speed sir;

Words are my ammo, my pen’s a healer.

It seems to me that Narcissus is back;

We all need to cash that reality check.

Someday we’ll all lick truth sundaes.

We’ll be real all the time, not some days.

I’ll be your growth, my art your laughter,

Love, Joy and Peace in the Sunday after.

Steady steady my heart, when I’m ready I start;

Stains hidden by light, the Word still is my might.

Floating above the norm, a star above the storm,

My eyes on who is in me, my ears on where I’m from.

Fathers will be fathers, their ignorance doesn’t diminish them.

The trick is to see their offices, we each all have a problem.

Growth should be the mission, everybody listen.

This is not by power, fear is still the prison.

We all fall down, pride grabs the steering;

We misplace identities, princes in the waste bin.

I am being made perfect, though not me alone,

Obligation is a rung on the ladder of adoption.

There’s still a hierarchy although we all are one oh,

Now there are stones where there once was bread though,

Their words were once enough, we all were well bred though.

So when they tell my story, I’ll win with more than ‘1-0’

Someday we’ll be examples, the future study our ways

We’ll be real all the time, not just on some days.

I’ll be your growth, my art your laughter,

Love, Joy and Peace in the Sunday after.

The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.

EverydayJesus can figure it out!

So on this particular day, I was to help my mum get to her car and to work as quickly as possible. As is our culture, just before she started the car I lifted the hood of the car to check the water and oil levels and refill if necessary. As I concluded this very easy task, I hesitated for a moment before I shut the hood and just stared at the engine and in that moment I noticed how confused I was at the complexity of a car’s engine. Sure I knew the names of one two things and maybe I could guess the functionality of a handful of some of them but on the whole, I was just clueless.

Before long mum joined me at where I stood looking at the engine, a perplexed look on her face. I smiled. I quickly shared my mind’s rumblings

“You know if a mechanical engineer were here he would know what he was looking at when a car’s hood popped not like confused little me but if I were to open my editing soft wares for that engineer he would be as confused too”(paraphrased)

I guess I added that bit about my soft wares to boost my self-confidence but as mum zoomed off to work, the thought lingered and I have now come to this conclusion…

Sometimes we take a look at our lives: Who we were, who we are and who we could be and we indeed get confused. We end up with questions like…

How did I get here?

Can I really achieve my dreams?

Would I live to see tomorrow?

Does my life mean anything?

What is the point in living?

Amongst many other mind-boggling questions…

As real and valid these questions are, I have good news. JESUS has got the answer. Is it because he is as much God as God is? Well, probably yes, but even more; because he is the engineer, specialist, professional that knows all there is to know about you, down to the number of hairs on your head.

So when he looks at all the events, people, memories, emotions, wishes and all that makes up the totality of you, he doesn’t get confused. In fact he knows everything and if you let him he can figure out the answers to those questions you have. Just like you take your car to the mechanic for repair, taking your life to Jesus is what you need to live free and happy and blessed every day. I guess that’s why they call “giving your life to Christ” although in the real sense it is him, Jesus that gave his life for you.

So for no charges at all, get your problems sorted out and your questions answered because every day Jesus figures it out.
