EverydayJesus – The Mirror

The Bible does not help to point out to us our faults and imperfections so that we may correct or change them, contrary to what many people believe.

The Bible (mirror) on the contrary, helps us to constantly see ourselves for who our Father God sees us. He see us perfect people in Christ, without blame and Spirit born, a.k.a eternally made of Love!

The Mirror is therefore our constant reminder of our realities in Christ so that we can be quickened in our mortal bodies to act accordingly.

Our spirits are whole, complete and mature in Christ but our minds would never agree because they know very little.

We are ourselves spirits, because man is essentially a spirit.

If I choose to call our spirits lions, then I would simply say that our minds are kittens, not even a cub.

What we know in our minds usually influence our works or doings, and most times, our minds make us produce kitten( lower) behaviors as opposed to the lion (higher) works that belong with our spirits, our hearts.

Therefore, whenever we look into the word, we force our kitten minds to see the lion spirits we truly are. This makes us to act accordingly. The mirror principle works by helping us to constantly keep in touch with our most basic realities in the presence of the Father’s redeeming love.

You might ask why our minds love to be kittens. I’d just tell you that our mind is the faculty in our hearts that relates directly with the physical or natural realms via the portals of the five senses. That’s why.

The thing is, if your acts are wrong and you feel like you are not a fruitful Christian, here is what you would want to do:

  1. Go Receive the Father’s Loving-thing parcel, a.k.a the too good to be true news, the Gospel.
  2. Look in the word, the mirror; I repeat look in the mirror.
  3. Look in the mirror again for that’s the true legit thing you’ve got, I repeat, look away from yourself!

18 And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:18. AMP

…Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and , after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like…

Dearest Damsel in Distress,

I hope that this note does not leave you without help, having found you in distress.

I have come to learn by experience, how bleak a future could be when you cannot see any lights at the end of the tunnel.

Oh DD, I am at that tunnel right now, it feels as though my cloud is night and I dare say that I have not found any silver linings yet, it’s so really dark in here!

DD, I really cannot tell you that I know how I got in here, or my way out of here; and the blanket thick darkness in this tunnel is so smoldering yet I am unshielded from the ice cold in here.  Maybe they are even hot ice, I really cannot tell.

You know Damsel in Distress, the only clue that I have is to simply cry because I really just cannot help it.

I have a lot of hope, and I have some faith too but I guess I don’t have any answers at all in my supplies – in fact, I got lost in here with nothing in my convenient pack!

Nevertheless DD, I would want to share with you, a few of my little things – some of the strengths that the LORD is giving me here!

I do not know how my help out of here will come, but I know too well that the LORD has helped me by His Spirit. I have chosen to hang on to His grace because His mercy is all that I have to hang on to. Sometimes, the rain beats me so hard, the ocean tries to drown me, the fire burns with smoldering smoke with me buried-stuck inside, and the mountains don’t even let me have the luxury of a little air to breathe.

But do you know what DD, I can never be consumed! I have not found that in my Bible, it’s not about here being too dark to see; the Spirit is my inner witness!

I mourn but I am blessed daily by the LORD’s comforting Spirit. I know that my pain would all go away someday because I know that it is well with my soul. I know that even if everything choses to remain dead hopeless, I’ll live through it all.

One thing I know for sure is that my problems are not pioneered by God but I know that He will hijack the situation to beautify me even more, my “sisterly” Ubamara calls that ‘Make up’!

Therefore DD, because I know that beauty is my sorrow’s end, and spiritual endurance is my heart’s fate, I have chosen to hang on because I BELIEVE! And because I believe, I am going to show myself that I believe.

I am going to grab a pale from time to time, and I’d soak my feet ready for some generous pedicure. I have chosen to take my bath times more seriously because I have promised myself to savor every single bit of it, even my lotion times too! I am never going to forget to wear myself some beautiful makeups every single morning. I am never going to forget to eat good food, no junks! And I am really going to be walking in here with some self-respect. I would never forget to keep myself hydrated because I need to look beautiful for my beautiful end. Who wants to look like a mess at red carpet entry? Not me, most def! You wouldn’t want to DD because our end is fairer than any Grammy red carpet’s euphoria, trust me!

Happiness can only be found within Love!

Love is God and God is Love.

Receive wholeheartedly, the love of the Father;

Bask in that love for yourself

Accept yourself in His gracious redeeming love, you’ll end up accepting others too

And you’ll be happy all along!

 

Happiness may be a rested acceptance and enjoyment of providence

The surest way I know to Rest, is in accepting the acquittal of the only Just One, He who makes men right in His own eyes;

In allowing His forgiving Love on yourself first, others may receive from you, willingly given

And you sure will be happy all the way!

Mutants are not miserly because their trust issues have been dealt with.

Mutants do very little, they have Faith.

Everything mutants do in the Kingdom is Faith- that is how we ‘roll’

Mutants speak Love- that is how we express ourselves.

Mutants are always at ease- it is a trust thing you know.

Mutants have all that they need- they receive them daily the mutant way.

Mutants DO nothing because everything has been DONE.

Mutants only have to carry their little bags Faith, about in the Kingdom.

Mutants carry their little bags by just expressing themselves through the mutant father-tongue, so you see why we are always at ease. Hmmm Cool!

The more mutants speak, the more they are transformed, transformed to be like Christ- this is the ultimate reason for the mutation!

Mutants never die, they have already died at the cross where Jesus died and rose when He did just by believing.

If the son of snake is a snake, then the son of God is a God- it’s simple ‘Mathegenetics’!

Mutants are sons of God because Jesus is Son of Man- ‘mathegenetically’ speaking!

Mutants like Jesus, are totally God, totally Man! He is our big brother the Bible says

Mutants are the supernatural beings that I call Theo-Sapiens.

Mutants cannot sin because the gene that codes for sin has been spliced off and replaced with Spirit Gene.

EverydayJesus is pro active!

One of my personal heroes is my Dad. Now he might not be perfect and yes he does not scale buildings, shoot webs from his palm or even wear a cape but from him I have learnt a bunch which has been key in my formation as a man. One of the main lessons I learnt just by observing him is how he tends to act ahead of time. Rather than dealing with a problem, Dad would prefer to forestall the problem. This doesn’t mean he would chicken out if a problem showed up but I think he figured it would be a lot cheaper and less stressful and ever more effective to prevent the problem. Guess what? He is right!

Looking through the scriptures, I see my Jesus would meet up with problems and solve them, but more importantly his words and actions pointed to a pro-active character, just like God-the-father. I mean isn’t it obvious that Christ died many years ago to save a world that would burn many years later. His mission in totality is pro-active. More so, if you looked through the scripture in search of guidance or instruction or have learned to listen to that sweet small voice of the lovely Holy Spirit you would agree with me that God is in the habit of directing us through actions that would seem pointless now but would mean the world in the future.

There are so many stories that I could give of present day events just like the story of Jeremiah’s instruction of God to buy a certain plot of land and collect the title deed and bury somewhere which was later used in recent times to settle a land dispute amongst nations. Crazy, right? However, here is a claim that this line of thought doesn’t agree with: “Experience is the best teacher”. Well, I think Jesus would disagree because discipline would pay better and guess what you never have to carry scars that way!

So be like Jesus. Be pro-active

Karen Kingsbury is an American Christian novelist. She was a sports writer for the Los Angeles Times and later wrote for the Los Angeles Daily News. Her first book,”Missy’s Murder (1991)”, was based on a murder story that she covered in Los Angeles. During this time, she had an article published in “People Magazine”

She has written more than 50 novels, with five co-written, and has nearly 13 million copies of her novels in print. She is the #1 New York Times and USA today best selling novelist with the last dozen books published topping bestseller lists.

She is really good like that!

Some of her novels are being developed into movies by hallmark Films including The Bridge and A Time to Dance which aired in 2015. The 23 book Baxter family novel series is being adapted to a television series. Lightworks Media and Roma Downey have the rights to develop the series.

Kingsbury also does public speaking and through national events she reaches more than 100,000 each year not to mention, Karen Kingsbury co-wrote her first song, “Walls” with Gary Baker and Richie McDonald; it appeared on McDonald’s inspirational album, I Turn to You and hit Christian and Country radio in January 2009. She wrote the song, “Tell Me to Breathe”, that will go on to be included on the upcoming album from Marie Osmond . She also wrote “Miracles Happen”, a Christmas song sung by Richie McDonald which now appears on McDonald’s CD, “If every day could be Christmas”.

She is multi-talented like that!

 

PERSONAL/FAMILY LIFE

Karen Kingsbury was born in June 8, 1963 in Fairfax Virginia as the oldest of 5 children. Her family moved around a lot because of her fathers job with IBM. She graduated with a degree in journalism from Cal State University Nothridge in 1986. After she graduated she worked for the Los Angeles Times as a sports writer.

She married her husband on July 23, 1989. They found out they were expecting their first child, Kelsey, on their sixth month anniversary. Their third child, Austin, had a severe heart defect and had heart surgery at three weeks old. They adopted three sons from Haiti which are Sean, Josh and EJ.

Kelsey, her daughter, is an actress and is married to Kyle Kupecky a Christian recording artist and they have a son. Tyler, her second oldest child is becoming a screenwriter and Sean, Austin and EJ are students at Liberty University, while Austin is in high school.

Karen Kingsbury’s father died due to complications from diabetes. She chose to start eating healthier and to cut out sugar and as a result lost 70 pounds between January and November in 2007.

EVERYDAYJESUS is more than a chocolate-box love story! (An update).

What if it is not too late to love? What if finding happiness is more real than ideal? What if love and happiness is for now? What if you are not too old to change? What if you have a clean and fresh slate now to rewrite your story? What if God asks you to make your first ever wish now? What would that be, what would you want?

I would want a perfect smoothie blend of love and happiness and happiness over and over again. Listen, I would let God know how much I believe in finding love, happiness and my utopia before I die. I’ll let Him know too that for me, peace and serenity is not just a promise fulfilled only in a fairy nice chocolate box love story written by my ever fantasizing mind. I know that I am a product of my mind, and that my mind is the product of my experiences good and bad, and of my environment too.

I am the woman I am today because of all that my mind has picked up until today.

In other words, issues ranging from my choice of a pair of slippers, lipstick and beauty regimen to how I respond to a crisis, be it in a relationship or in sickness is within me and not without me. So if I am not happy about the woman I have become today, then I don’t have to change nothing but my mind. I simply have to renew my mind by reconditioning it with the right experience, and with the right environment, that way my mind changes, and if my mind changes, I am changed, and if I am changed, then I’d be happy. If I am not happy about my natural inclinations, my usual responses, my most normal choices, and even the outcomes of them, I know that I need not play the blame game but  spend my time getting the right experience and of course the right environment. And if you ask me what those are I’d say Love is. See, I believe in love. I believe in finding happiness. I believe in the dream of a woman… to be found out by her man.

I had always been in that place where a woman just dreams. I had dreamt severally about this imaginary man who would make me his woman and treat me like his queen. I was far from being perfect but I had my little long list. I needed a strong man and a real man to protect me, someone who would be faithful to me, and an able shoulder to cry on. I wanted my man to be someone who would just listen and comfort me, a man who would be a friend, a big brother I never had and the father I lost early. I needed a man who could and would provide all my needs and still consider my wants, a man who would just love me with or without makeups – I love looking good anyways. And of course I wanted a man who would be a gentleman for me and still not let me push him around. I wanted him handsome. He had to have a good sense of humor and an intelligence quotient that I could never match. My man had to be a very romantic lover whose words and kind gestures would make me tear up. I craved for a man whose gaze would be lovingly unbearable and who I know would enjoy watching me sleep. I wanted a soul mate. I longed for this man to come quickly, notice me as love stories go and take me along with him. Like the woman at the well I went from man to man hoping to find my man. Something seemed to be missing – I was never satisfied. None ever fit me like lock and key. I always left these men unsatisfied – I couldn’t really afford to be unhappy. The gap in my heart needed to be filled. I was that doughnut with a hole, I was thirsty.

At a point I thought I was asking for too much wanting all I wanted but thank God a man filled that void. When I wallowed in the emptiness within me, when my soul wasted away, I found love. I found love when I least expected to. I found love when I didn’t know He had always been there. I felt I had waited for too long not knowing that He was the one who had done all the waiting. He had wooed me on several occasions but I never took note of Him – oh how enduring is the love of my Galilean lover. I heard His lines but I never seemed to get it. “BELIEVE AND RECEIVE” He said, and when I accepted His proposal I came alive. Like the woman at the well, He knew me too well. He knew and saw all that I ever did yet He loved me. My Galilean lover is everything I ever craved in a man. His muscles were toned from carpentry, and His Words sharp enough to chase my accusers. He wrapped me in His love and I fear nothing. He is that gentleman who still never changes His mind.

He is Meekness and Majesty, Manhood and Deity, aka Velvet and Steel. You may argue any case with Him but be sure that He cannot be trapped by logic – He is Philosophy and Logic. Oh He is so romantic, His style of proposal top notch. His life the diamond ring – very costly and guess what He never sleeps, He never slumbers because He loves to watch me sleep. He is that perfect man for the perfect me – at least He said, and that is final! In His love letter, He told me that I am His righteousness and He is my right standing. I don’t have to impress Him – He loves me! Death cannot do us part because we live forever. With my Yeshua, I am never jealous or insecure because He is too intoxicated to dump me – besides He says “I will never leave you or abandon you”.

So for that reason, I am here to share my man. 

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of man, but of God.” -John 1:12-13.

“But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into eternal Life.” -John 4:14.

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out saying “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. “He who believes in Me as the Scriptures has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’’ -John 7: 37- 38.
