Everyday Jesus – GOD IS GOOD!

I have been down in the dumps and I have fed fat from all them rubbish down there so much that I have become plump…robust actually. Nice right? All of me junks!

I have literally cried my eyes out. All I have left are empty eye sockets, and blindness; even the bat offers a helping hand.

The night, that one? It seemed to provide temporal relief as it reluctantly accepts my cares during its shifts and without hesitation hands them back to me at the break of dawn. Woe betide me if I interrupt my slumber to pee…no words mincing.

The devil in his subtle magnanimity created a sovereign state of melancholy for me and appointed me the executive governor. A state which enjoyed absolute independence and privacy; custom bans been raised for encouragements hence no trading.

A confining state it was but you know, I am a governor, the governor…but was I? Really? My subjects; fear, selfishness, worry and pride ruled over me (One of them horrible things Solomon saw on the earth) Twisted right? I thought so too, only that it was just a thought. I obeyed orders from my subjects with the cheers of a good leader is a servant!

Rest was “the road not taken” by poor me probably because it was the road less travelled by most. Pride had always insisted I carry my burden because it is mine…“carry your burdens, for you have no one in the world but you”. Fear on the other hand provided an awfully overwhelming companionship and selfishness made the world revolve around me in a very bad way.

With all the prejudice I had about God’s personality, “cast your cares upon me for I…” didn’t make any sense because all of my five senses were numb…already.

My woe tales…

…but blessed be the Lord and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who works in and around us to bring us out of the ugly situations we face. My problems were his as much as they were mine and he sure has his way around it.

First things first, I have my eyes back and He started by making me listen to what he spoke through the mouth of his son…the prophets were getting a lot of things complicated (figuratively). They painted him both black and white with a grey touch of indecision; all lies! He doesn’t have a multiple personality.

And you’d think the devil can bear to be left out of the ecstatic torture of the human soul with questions that brings confusion? You wish! He plunged into the game head first and he has been having a nice time in my life until now.

God is good! (This is me on top of my lungs!)

He that has seen the Son has seen the Father. I have seen the Son so I have seen the Father; so beautiful, full of compassion, ever loving, never angered…such awesomeness and all these I saw by just a peep, I haven’t even taken a glance yet!

Why didn’t he remove my problems first you’d ask? They were not really the problems, alright? My problem was the fact that I had a warped image of God in my eyes and the statement “the way you look at the problem is the problem” has never been truer.

Am I still faced with challenges? Yes of course but I have taken a new approach to it. I have migrated to the state of REST. Stuffs are way better there and the standards of living there are premium but the Father foots the bills. I don’t enjoy my privacy there, His presence is all wrapped so lovingly around me and it is sweet in the strictest sense of the word. His assurances and encouragement have no trade ban, it is one of the legit must haves and it is free. I walk knowing that he said that he is with me and he will never leave nor forsake me.

We (God and I) are still on my case brethren and it gets better every day.

Meanwhile I can’t stop chanting God is good! (This is me on top of my Lungs!)

EVERYDAYJESUS’ ‘What is life?’ (A poem)

What is life?
Is life merely about the strife?
Existing to be seen?
To be seen growing?
And too keen on the hour death will appear?
Is life about the days?
The rays of a life time?
Breathing to make a regular cycle?
To be born in the flame of time?
To grow and be tamed?
To be schooled and screwed?
To be a worker then end as a walker?
To get retired and keep on being ‘real tired’?
And to die?

What is life?
It is about,
Living to the full,
Without being ruled by the society,
And without anxiety.
To reckon Christ,
For us to rise,
Beyond all price,
To make a mark that the world can track,
For the everlasting serenity,
Without any inadequacy.
And life is about,
The amazing call
From the “viral” (sin) to the era of which, grace is seen,
About the journey to the world of light,
To stay firmed and affirmed by His word.
And life is about,
The hope we give for the world to cope,
The love we show for the world to stay above,
The peace we find for the world to get.
“Life is exploring the gift within
And not waiting.
Author note:
Life is never about being right, but letting righteousness find its way in us”.

THE PRIESTLY GENERATION

He looked afar in search of a kind

But in the lot, none worthy was found

The earth groaned, the heavens moaned

As darkness covered the people whole

Kings grew numb, princes too dumb

For servants rode horses and sin reigned on deaths throne

A cry was heard around the city walls

That of hope rekindled, joy reborn as chosen elites were brought forth

Redeemed from destruction, renewed by the Word

This kindred a wondrous sight to behold

Priests unto salvation, prophets unto redemption

To bring home the lost and weary souls

Armed with a clean spirit and wilful heart

These guide to reveal hidden mights

An array of mediators, an array of conquerors

All created to bring glory and honour to His throne

A channel of power, God’s mighty arsenal

Breaking through hell’s gated and fallow grounds

They turn not from their shepherd’s lead

They fear not even in the darkest deep

They march on along the righteous path representing Christ

A priestly generation ordained, the Kingdom’s light.

#EVERYDAYJESUS is our purpose (Nonso John)

On Purpose, I have this to say.

God created man with a purpose in His mind.
There’s somethiny Bible theologians like to call the principle of first mention. Thag is, that whenever God first mentions a thing, He mentions His reason for making or for approving that thing.

We find it all over the Bible.

God’s first mention of a covemant with Abram, He spelt out His reason for calling Abram (to make him a great nation, to bless him, and to bless the entire earth through him, which people have taken to mean that God was talking about the saviour coming through him and blessing the entire world).

First time God explicitly talked about a partner for Adam, He called her a ‘help suitable’ for him.

First time God called the sun and the moon, He said it was to give light to the day and then to the night.

And so on, and so on.

I have searched my Bible for it, and although it is not everything God calls that He mentions His purpose for, He does mention them for a lot of things, at the first time He calls them.
I said all these to say this:
The first time God made man, He said.

Let us make man, in our image and likeness.

And let them have dominion.

Over the birds of the air… and so on and so forth.
Now. God created man. To have dominion. That is man’s purpose.

But this man that must have dominion has to have God’s image. And be in God’s likeness.

I like to study the word with this Hebrew Bible I have that uses the exact words like it was in the original text, (plus the hebrew pronunciation) before translating to English.

I’ll forget the hebrew word and just use the pronunciations.

And that verse in my Study Bible says :
“Let us make ‘aw-dawm’ in our ‘tseh’-lem’, after our ‘dem-ooth”.
The word pronounced Tseh-lem (stress on the first syllable) means mirror reflection. A look alike. A clone. A model.

The word pronounced dem-ooth (stress on the second syllable) means resemblance in words, thoughts and action.
It’s the word used to say ‘this guy behaves like his father.’
Okay. So God’s plan is that we should look like Him (image) and function like Him (likeness), so that we can have dominion.

That is God’s purpose for mankind as a whole.
But mankind lost the image in the garden.

So Gpd has been on a rescue mission ever since, trying to bring man back to that image of spiritual life. Eternal life, if you prefer that phrase better.

The life of God.
And I think tjat became like a new purpose for mankind.

That is, turning every other mankind back to the image, and the likeness.

This is why, I believe, the Bible says He has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
So what is your purpose?

Live in the image of God, and function in His likeness.

And then lead those who are lost back to that image and likeness.
God’s image is being born again.

I think God’s likeness is learning to do things the way He would do them.

So we go to be taught the authority of the believer. Jesus came to teach us how it is possible to raise the dead. The fallen man cannot do it.

Only a God can, or a man who has found his God-image.

I think it is part of what Jesus came to model for us.
All these ‘my purpose is music’ and all that, is just ignorance.

The church has one purpose.

Go ye into all nations… as Jesus says.
But we do not all have to be Pastors.
We have the same purpose, but we do it on different platforms.

I am a writer. But that is my pulpit. And that is why it us beautiful.

Tyler Perry writes black comedy. Janette..iks writes spoken word Gospel pieces. Karen Kingsbury attacks broken families. Ted Dekker writes Thrillers. Frank Peretti plies his trade in the speculative fantasy genre of fiction.

And I have seen each of these people I have mentioned blowing tongues and worshipping. On recorded video sha.

I am a Thriller writer.

In music, same thing. We don’t all have to do the same thing.

I know rappers who are hardcore Christians.

And we don’t all have to be singing Jesus Jesus Jesus in all our love songs.
Darlene Zeche (forgive the spelling) has a full album of love songs, and God was not mentioned once.
All I’m saying is.

We do different things.

We don’t have to do the same thing.

No one said you must be a musician. No one said you must be a writer.

But if you have found Christ, your purpose is leading others to Him.

Doesn’t have to be any particular platform.

Some people say they were born to write. I believe I was born to write, simply because I cannot imagine my life doing something else, but that is just a platform.
You decide,

But whatever you do, whatever we all do, the Bible says we have
Ephesians 4:5

“One Lord. One faith. One baptism.”
I will stop it here.
Hope this helped.

[9/14, 12:57 AM] Nonsi Writer: Lemme just add this.
I believe the likeness of God is all them things ranging from God’s chaaracter, His behaviour, and so on.
He’s a God of faith. So we learn faith.

God of love. So we learn to love.

We learn to fight battles like He would – by weilding the authority He has bequeathed onto us.
I believe that this whole spiritual growth thing just refers to likeness:

How close you are to being like Jesus (since He is the human part of God that we can relate with).

Becasue really, you cannot begin to talk about spiritual growth if you do not even have the image of God first of all (as in being born again).
I think the whole concept behind spiritual growth is as it relates to the likeness of God.
No wonder the Bible says (2 Corinthians 3:18) “as we behold as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord, we are changed into that same image…”
Note that the word ‘image’ here is different from the previous word translated as image in Genesis.
Here, the word is pronounced “i-kone'” (stress on second syllable), meaning ‘a likeness, a profile, representation, resemblance.
Some of these words are related, but they don’t exactly mean the same.

Ok. Bye.

Everyday Jesus wants us to Consider our lifestyle

Cymbals

Men pleasing has become our Baal

Our life the bar of Balaam

Upholding norms

Losing the form of God in us.

Drums

Beating our chest in pride

Our tittle knowledge has got us riding

On the things we never were

And the things that can never form in us.

The melodies of our guitarist

Our lying tongue

And the wrongs we call right

Has left us in deserts

Of will

Our heart milling endlessly

The next rhyme to call rhema

We play with the dead

Yet claim to be living

Yet life abides in us still

Our doings suffocating it

And  the trumpet of of voice void

Of any goodness

Other than sycophancy

The cymbals we lived

And the cleansing power we received

In his blood

The thick red fluid that makes us white as snow

Now we know

It’s nothing other than a thought

Everyday Jesus wants us to be Careful with the Ministry of Teaching (1 cor 12:8, 1Tim 1:3-7,Acts6:10,Acts 9:1,2, 18:24-28, 2Tim 3:7,813b-15)

I was once privileged to have teachers of varying abilities. Some of them were enthusiastic about what they were doing that it reflected in the way they taught us. You could literally see their pain as they try to salvage the conditions of those that were bodily present but never learnt a thing. They cried, (and sincerely we assumed it was), wolf. We thought that their dilemma was uncalled for. We thought they had lost it and turned to determine wielding the cane as their panacea. How wrong we had been all along and never knew. We were wise in foolishness and accused the wise ones of folly.

The short account I artlessly delivered to you is just a preface to a little hazy discussion I intend that we would have.

Jesus is our teacher. Honestly speaking, he had the first set of Christians directly under his tutelage but coincidentally, just like my teacher, he had occasions where he was completely dissatisfied with the “never-learning” life of his students that he had to boldly say to them, “until now, una never sabi this mata”. He expected to have a group of forever improving students, the kind you can call polymaths or savants considering how much of himself he had invested in them. He had taught them by one of the best teaching methods, Guided Inquiry, when he looked back and saw that the Lecture Method he employed in teaching them back at the mount had little or no effect. His long but punchy lecture only got them cheering him on but when he rested his case, the only thing they went home with was his authoritative tone while delivering the lecture; they went home with no new lesson learnt, defeating the Instructional Objectives  of the Emeritus Professor.

So, he did a kind of sifting to reduce the class size of his disciples and as you know, “many were called but only few (the twelve) survived the screening”, to be taught to teach. After the programme had ended and Jesus made up his mind to retire from teaching undergraduate students, he told them to go scouting for students from all over the world and make sure that they were taught pass the fundamentals of our faith.

Many enthusiasts ran into the street preaching from “hear-say” the truth they never had as a reality. Technicians like the Seven Sons of Sceva also joined the mob only to get embarrassed by stubborn, masked reagents. Other people he really never commissioned took it upon themselves to become his marketers (though they never studied marketing), selling his goods to the public; painting the wrong picture as they were already outdated in terms of the new breakthrough in Heaven’s Education. In case you still want to doubt, when you cross the bridge ask Bro. Apollos who boldly and accurately taught the old Research Method. Well don’t be too quick to condemn the actions of that loving brother, we were all at that same level and if people like Priscilla and Aquila who proved that they have been taught by Jesus by not shushing us but patiently updating us never came to our resources, we would have continued on the woolgathering venture. They understood what Jesus implied when he said that those who are not against him are actually for him. They remembered how patient and loving Jesus has always been when it comes to the ministry of putting us right in the face of misconceptions.

And sorry, Paul, aka The Killer, saw that too. Believe it or not, it’s stale news telling you that Paul persecuted the Church because he was “law-loving” thinking that he was “God-loving”. So, the next time an opportunity came to show how abreast he was with the new spiritual law and his deeper revelation, he told little Tim to stay back and help people like me that might be walking straight into cuddle-sac of endless philosophizing to see their pit falls; not because he wanted them to be downgraded before their students nor to get more highly placed. He just wanted to show his love. He could not afford to sit on a professorial seat of Jesus Culture and watch the doctorate degree holders stuck at the point of no promotion courtesy of the wrong theories they kept on quoting in their works. He wanted to make sure they were sound spiritually in terms of insight, so that their students would not be academically poisoned. But I doubt if the aim of our correction is to promote faith from a pure heart or just to prove a point and get others defaced. Either ways, teachers beware.
