LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOUR

The greatest miracle on earth, a sinner came to repentance and is saved

Heaven rejoices for a new creations birth, now old things are passed away

Behold all things are new but please may I be excused

‘Cause if this hypothesis is proven theory

Why do I fall to the things I once rose up from?

Why do I feel like a couple once wed amidst cheers of joy?

Now wondering why their love has become a burden to endure

Why does it all now seem to feel like a fairytale

Where the magic only lasts till midnight with no prince charming come to find me

Glass slipper in hand, ready to rescue me from the depths of these dungeons

From these caves and chains, sins I once was saved from

I wish I could call out to the brethren

The ones who professed “Yes I love with you with the love of God”

But I know what they would say, who am I kidding?

I deserve to be here

Yes Jesus once forgave my sins but just maybe

Maybe the saving package just did not apply to customers such as me

So here’s my story

Once I was saved but now I am lost again and again and again

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

I just wish it would stop but again and again I fall prey

And yet I pray one day these chains will give way

So I can truly proclaim, I am saved.

This short piece is the unfortunate story of a lot of Christians today; in fact I too went through a phase such as this but now I know for a certainty that no one should have to go through this ever because Jesus did not just get crucified just so we could be forgiven of our sins, He died so we would be saved and He resurrected proving His power over sin and death, then giving us a chance to reign with him in the same power. It is however puzzling why too many Christians still live under the bondage of sinful habits and addictions.

In my experience I’ve come to find out that this occurrence does not in any way put to question the authenticity of the work Jesus actualized on that cross, He did it well and complete hence the problem is most certainly with us.

“I have finished the work you gave me to do”

  • Jesus Christ (John 17:4b)

You see I have come to believe we forget the confession we made while we gave our life to Jesus Christ. You may not have said these exact words but I believe you implied that you accepted Jesus to be your Lord and personal saviour. The irony however is from a human point view, He should save us first and then He can become Lord over us but that’s not how it goes especially not on this side of life. You see Jesus did not come into your life just to save you from your sins but to also be Lord over your life. This is in fact what guarantees your victorious Christian life. Hence if you are still calling the shots in your life then your salvation experience is not entirely complete which is essentially the reason you still have problems dealing with those sinful habits.

Look I know you love the Lord and sincerely I’m positive He loves you even more but until He is Lord in your life, He might never be able to save you from your sins once and for all and that’s why the phrase goes ‘Lord’ first and then ‘personal saviour’ (implying this is a personal deal). Have you ever wondered why we as Christians profess “I gave my life to Christ”? Well, in my own little understanding I believe that on that beautiful day we made that confession of faith we surrendered our lives, our will, our consciousness to Jesus and in exchange we got his sin-free life, His will with victory over sin and His consciousness. You see, that way we are no longer controlling the wheels of our lives because we are no longer living our lives but His. This is our only hope to living our lives totally free of sin but the problem is once in a while we want to take control of the wheel and we ignorantly steer ourselves into problems and issues that make the sacrifice of Jesus seem ineffective. If you’re wondering why Jesus would let us collect leadership from Him, well He’s such a perfect gentleman and the bible testifies

“And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.”

  • Genesis 6:3

So when we do try to Lord over our own lives even after giving our lives to Christ we seem to be saying “Hey great work bro but I would like to take over from here”. Inferentially we did give Him our lives at some point but then we took it back and then we wonder why we keep on falling back to our vomit.

You know what is so awesome about the life we live with Jesus as Lord? You see the bible makes it clear that Jesus Christ on the cross won the victory over death, hell and the grave and when we give Him our lives for His we automatically walk into that victory as well. So that we are no longer trying to not sin, we just do not sin; it’s in our nature not to so it’s no wonder the bible calls us more than conquerors.

I can write a whole lot more but I believe the problem and solution are quite obvious at this point however from experience I do know that being aware of the solution doesn’t always mean you’d do the right thing. Sometimes it’s way too difficult to say NO to your flesh and you may still find a little pleasure in those sinful habits but I assure you there’s hope. So take it from someone who has been there you can overcome this too, you can hate those things you once enjoyed, you can have total and lasting victory over sin for eternity. Jesus loves you and the truth is no matter how far you push him away, He’s always there and what’s more He already put in measures to help you through this season: The Word(John 1:1-5), The Holy Spirit (John 16:7-15) and brethren (James 5:16).

So don’t wait any longer, let Jesus be indeed Lord in your life and enjoy righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Don’t wait too long; it might be too late then. Continue reading

Write, The Vision.

One of the simplest errors that occur in ministry is when the vision is forgotten. The minister gets so engrossed in running he soon forgets why he began the race in the first place. I have fallen prey to this far too many times and I have come to learn and appreciate the scripture in Habakkuk that says “Write the vision”.  Sincerely I have the vision of this team written in so many places, marked on my bible and all that. Such that when I start loosing drive or focus I go back to what God said at first and its been awesome. I’m saying this so you can ask yourself “what got me here in the first place?” When you’ve got it figured out, write it down. Visit it frequently. You’d be glad you did.

Now, the Christ A Poet Team was founded basically on a need to make this gospel of Christ known through the unique gift of literature. The gift of writing. One of the things God has clearly laid in my heart concerning this team is to raise Christ-a-poet(s). At the time I got the name I had foggy understanding why but down the road God made it clear He wants to build us into writers that are Christs(saviours) in this world. God is building an army of writing Christs in us and you and I can testify He has surely been teaching and grooming us ever since we joined this beautiful team. See that’s one reason amongst why God chose the name team for us. He wanted us to train together like team would, grow together, complement each other such that when it is game time we become a formidable force. We train to win. We grow to go out and teach. That brings me to what God showed me in Ezra.

You see…Scribes, They at different times occupied different positions such as secretaries of state, study of the law, multiplication of copies of the law, teaching of the law, documenting prophecies, transcribe the law, at a point the scribes wielded more power than the priests. In Ezra’s day he was described as “a ready scribe” Ezra 7:6 I came to understand that to mean Ezra was skilled at what he did but what dintinguished him to be was what vs 10 said “For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgements”. The Lord stopped me here and made it clear, as a team this is what we’re called to do. Who we are called to. We are first to seek Gods word, then do it and then teach it. No part of this process ought to suffer neglect. You see later down the road especially during Jesus’ day the scribes missed it somewhere but that doesn’t mean God is no more interested in this office. You see that’s why He put a pen in your hands, that’s why those scriptures are opened up to you more than others see it, that’s why you can sit from afar and observe life as we know it, that’s why you can put words together into a most compelling message even with no formal training in the art, it is why you’re in this team today. God wants to speak in your heart knowing fully well you’ll write it down. He wants to be with you He wants to build you He wants to send you but not on your own He will most definitely go with you. That’s it!
Hallelluyah
God called you and I to be his scribes, his secretaries of state, his pen, a ready pen.

A worthy Scribe!

What excites me even more is eyes have not seen, ears have not heard neither has it entered into the imagination of man what God has planned to do with us.

So don’t just hang around, get in the mix. Our God is awesome. What a blessing He sheds on our way.

EVERYDAY JESUS

Prayer Ethics of A Lazy man.

I am sitting in a service listening to my beloved Pastor declare that we must all pray till we sweat. Really?

As a novice on the matter, I cannot simply tell him, ‘No, that’s not true,’ but I…didn’t misunderstand my way into God’s presence… No I call out to a person who I believe hears me and he does. [Psalms 3:4]

Yes after all God is a rewarder of those who seek him diligently seek him…so you can choose the definition of ‘diligent’ that you like best but this is not Facebook and after all He: The King of Heaven, The Most High, The Almighty Master Writer of the Universe, who holds all things together by the power of his Word; He…called you first. [Luke 17:25/ Acts 3:26/ 1John 4:19/ Colossians 1:16-17/ Hebrews 1:3, 11:6]

So prayer is more a matter of faith than a matter of sweat see because the righteous, who we are who are saved by the blood of the Lamb and the words of our testimony, shall live by faith. [ Galatians 3:11/ Revelations 12:11]

So I choose the legal definition of ‘diligence’ and ask, seek or knock BELIEVING.

That’s the… This is the beauty of the Christian, The Child of God. A more matured one could miss something a little one is staring at because it still is unto us all according to our Faith. [Matthew 9:29]

Cut short a lengthy prayer if you’re repeating a request. Thank and Praise him instead, stop nagging God!! [Mark 12:40/ Matthew 6:7, 21:22]

Wait!!

Before you stop reading, ask yourself, did Jesus say, ‘Lazarus come out!’ More than once? [John 11:41-44]

Or did Peter say to the Beggar at Beautiful, ‘Silver and Gold have I not, but what I have I give to you…In the Name of Jesus, Rise up, Rise up and walk, rise up and walk. Yes! It is your time, and your season; nothing can hold you down… Arise Arise Arise!!!'[Acts 3]

Yes, No… Jesus laid hands on someone’s eyes twice to let him see clearly and Elijah kept praying till a cloud the size of a man’s hand showed up.[ Mark 8:22/ 1 Kings 18:43-44]

And it came to pass that before any time had passed it came to pass through the minds of those in whose minds it came to pass that Jesus was known to say, ‘Will you not watch with me for an hour…'[Matthew 26:40] Well even you have to do something as serious as dying on a wooden torture tool the next day, you must realise that prayer is conversation with the supernatural…[Acts 4:24] So when you spend an hour or more repeating requests about which our same Lord Jesus said, ‘Don’t ask about these things…’ ]Matthew 6:25-34] Can He be said to have answered? Do any of us even actually converse (as in talk and listen) or do we just order The Almighty around for a while and then say, ‘AMEN.’

Your neighborhood. Your Workplace. Your Children. Your Dilemmas. These are all worth praying for but to what extent.[ James 5:16]

A Lady said…’ Daniel, please pray for me.’ And she turned to leave I said I would not. Why? Because you didn’t tell me what to tell my Father. Say I went to you and said, ‘Take care of yourself.’ Would you treat yourself any differently than you have been already? God says He knows what you have need of and you are the Body of Christ [ Matthew 6:8/ 1 Corinthians 6:19, 3:16-17], Yet…

She said, ‘Pray I don’t fall sick.’
I said, ‘By his stripes you WERE healed so stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.'[Acts 3:16/ John 5:1-14/ 1Peter 2:24]

She said, ‘Pray I pass my exams.’
I said, ‘God wishes above all things that you prosper, but you must mind your company and your tongue, keep your eyes on the Word to say and do it, then YOU shall make your way prosperous and be like a tree planted by a stream, bearing fruit in its season…'[Joshua 1:8/ Psalm 1/ 3 John 1:2]

She said, ‘Wait…pray I find a good husband.’
I said, ‘HE, not she, who finds…go seek first the kingdom of God and ALL these things will be added unto you.'[Proverbs 18:22/ Matthew 6:33]

At the end of the day, it is unto you according to what you believe, but if your faith didn’t come by hearing the Word of God at all it is not… Faith.[ Matthew 9:29/ Romans 10:17]

If we ought to pray without ceasing, that might mean you can pray without ceasing[1 Thessalonians 5:17]…by interceding for people according to The Word, pouring out our hearts honestly and humbly and listening…[Job 33:14]

But maybe am wrong and these are the Prayer ethics of a lazy man… And You didn’t hear this from me. Either way pray… Thank him for answering, because EVERYDAY, JESUS loves you, so much, and he’s always listens.

WWF – Working The Word Of God

Let me start out today by saying that the devil is not so much afraid of your prayer and fasting life as much as he does of your knowledge of God’s word. Satan is not so much respecting your anointing and gifting as he does your wisdom and insight in God’s word. God says My people perish not because of not praying well enough, but because of lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6. Many people think it is their prayer and fasting that will keep them afloat on the stormy sea of life. How untrue that is! Tell me, how many prayers did Jesus say when there was storm on the sea? Not one! He only, with His knowledge of God’s word, spoke to the sea and the sea instantly was hushed to sleep. Mark 4:35-40. Jesus Christ must have been quickened so much by the word of God as found in Psalm 148:8, which says, “Fire and hail; snow and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling His word.” (Remember Jesus Christ is the Word of God Himself anyway. John 1:1-2.)

Oh, how people wear themselves out today by always waking up at night only to pray against somebody they think is their enemy. We have no such order given us in the whole of the new testament. And remember we are the new testament church, born from the side of Jesus Christ. Please, read the whole of new testament for yourself and get understanding. Life will become far better and simple, if only and if we will learn to follow Jesus Christ in everything by His Spirit in us, Whom the Father God has sent into our hearts, crying Abba Father. Father God said of the Lord Jesus, “Hear you Him (Jesus).” Matthew 17:5.

Before I go further, let me say that it matters so much how much we humble ourselves to receive the engrafted word of grace, which is able to save our souls. James 1:21. I said earlier that the devil does not respect your anointing and gifting, but your knowledge of God’s word. You can see for yourself, how many people today in churches manifest the anointing and gifts of the Holy Spirit and are also given to prayer and fasting, and yet they are deep in one sin or the other. See, your prayer life and commitment in church can not really bail you out of devil’s hand. Only the understanding of what Jesus has done can AND WILL ALWAYS!!! The more you grow in this knowledge the better you become everyday. Let me open your eyes to this truth, the devil came for the Lord Jesus right after forty days and forty nights of prayer and fasting. As a matter of truth, the Bible makes us understand that Jesus was sent into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. This means that the devil was tempting Him throughout. And at the last the devil came up with three bigger temptations.

See, in as much as we are still in this flesh and bearing this our mind, the only major thing that the devil will always respect about us, which will always bring him to his knees each time, is our knowledge of God’s Word. Jesus Christ did not win the battle against the devil’s temptations by capitalizing on His just concluded prayer and fasting. As a matter of fact, the devil started his final temptations on Jesus Christ using the prayer and fasting Jesus just finished. We see that Jesus only won by His knowledge of God’s Word. Remember Jesus came to show us an example to follow 1 Pt. 2:21. I think at this junction, somebody will be wondering where praying and fasting by the Spirit of God fit in?

HARDENED HEARTS

Do not take me too seriously if all you get from this pep is just inspiration- of course talk is cheap. And thank God this is not a show, else I’ll be preaching you all to sleep. I can barely inspire myself, that’s why ‘My Salvation’ was authored by someone else with a more legible handwriting so the World can see God.

So please take a face-wipe because am about to reintroduce you to YOU.
YOU may already know ME as that guy who is too loud on stages of Campus Auditoriums, hitting pitches that sound like warnings. Well, it’s not my fault that most of our good cooking have always been desired hot; so why should God’s word be any different when served from the ‘pot’?
We hear God’s word come from lukewarm vessels that right now, we have become too cold to notice that even in our folly, we still form hot and holy; we are too stiff to yield to the still, small voice calling us into submission. We are HARDENED HEARTS!

We’re too cool to pray and too proud to pursue the vision that God has called us to. We say we’re waiting for confirmation or some kind of sign, while we watch our Family and Friends be blind to the light we hide behind. “God, this is not what I had in mind; am trying to be the light, but it’s too dark in here to shine.” And somehow it SEEMS our claims always find justification in the same innocent circumstances we’re pointing accusing fingers to.

“Me, myself and I- we are doing just fine within the confines of the church property lines.” We sing more ‘You are important to me…’ than we actually need people to survive out on the Campus streets amplifying the Gospel.

Seven days without Jesus makes one weak; sounds like our latest way of playing Hide and Seek- seeking Jesus every Sunday, but hiding the rest of the week. We’re now numb to feeling sympathy. Passion has been ostracised, as though doing something about injustice is now a responsibility exclusively set aside for The Angels.

Gold diggers– too busy digging for only the things God has in stock for us; proudly ignorant of what vision He has placed right before us. Good Actors– playing out a fake script that spearheads our sublime performance to winning the Grammy Awards for Hypocrisy. We’re now masters of disguise, hiding from the Master of the skies; we think our theories are divine, so we disconnected from The Vine…

It’s cool telling everyone else to accept our Christ, but never allowing Him to change our lives. You are not a Christian by tradition, at least not because you celebrate
Christmas- all of its material presence will always blind you to God’s presence.
We regurgitate and puke God’s word, expecting others to eat and digest it; then we turn to gulp all of the junk present in the ‘omnipresent’ media, so like FAST food, they SLOW down our ‘metabolism’.

We are the victims! I’m sick and tired of saying ‘I don’t hear from God’, when actually I’ve never cared to listen. My soul needs a rest in me, but the guilt is Cardiac-arresting me. I think I hear the same still small voice calling a sleeper to rise. God is the only Boss who will send you to the bank, drive you to the bank, go into the banking hall with you, help you make the transactions right…and just when you ask ‘So why the errand?’, you’ll find out Obedience is the Ultimate- Search for it!

Therefore today I refuse…I refuse to drown in the same water He walked on. If you have blocked God’s call on your life, today he serves you a rebound. Stop buying into the World’s glamour, pictures and slogans- they’ll leave you bankrupt at the cost of your emotions. So it’s fine if you are a cold, careless heart in here today; because like glowsticks, they must first be broken.

The Stranger’s Hand

Godzniel's avatar2nd Daniel

There was a little boy, who woke up as a spirit of harmony and verse. He looked out at the world and heard his name on the lungs of a million people as his voice planted explosion in their minds.

But they had not yet exhaled his name nor had shrapnel from their word-blown minds embedded in their sleeping hearts because he had not yet unleashed himself on them.

So the little boy wrote growing, and grew writing: a circus to most of his peers who didn’t know of his dream, or maybe they did; and they enjoyed him because he was so enjoyable.

Soon the little boy was ready, he wanted to solve so many problems, he wanted to have so many things. He sought his parents to use their power, because he thought, ‘They’ll be so proud of me.’ His mother smiled at him and died. His Father…
