Everyday Jesus makes me free

You know that scripture about the truth shall set you free? Well here is how the King James Version relays it: John 8:32(KJV) And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free This is key because it will help drive home my point but just before I put the key into the ignition let me tell you a story I heard or read a while ago. (I can’t remember details but I’ll try to give it as I remember it). So there is this fashion outfit that does everything, from hair to nails, to makeup, the whole nine miles and apparently they were the best. Someone challenged them on their expertise by bringing in a really dirty ragtag mad man from the streets for them to refine. So they took on the challenge and after a lot of baths and pampering, this madman was looking like the president. They believed they had won. However after some days this madman was back in the streets, looking as dirty and ragtag as he could be. What went wrong? He was set free, not made free. When you deal with the exterior without first conquering the interior, give it time and the exterior will start to again reflect the rot on the inside. In the context of this article I would have you know that setting one free deals with only the exterior but making one free start from the interior. Our lovely Jesus, right from when He was on earth never really cared much for external appearances, he sought change from the heart and that my friend is why everything that deals with our experience with Jesus starts from the inside because if that is fixed, the exterior cannot help but reflect that change. Jesus doesn’t just want you acting right He wants you to be right and guess what He is not even asking you to do anything just believe in the finished work of the cross and He would do the work. How great is that! Stop struggling, come to Jesus, He will make you free.

John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (NIV)
