It’s a lonely empty world out there!
Sure it makes no sense to your ears
‘cos statistics hold sufficient claim to a certain 7 billion souls walking the globe
Yet like my creator all I see is a big void
An empty nothingness, wish I could call forth the brightness like He did but I’m no Edison
No! I simply do not have that capacity, I am an inductor
You see the very same curse that robs this world of its fullness
is what right now invades my consciousness
I am living proof to the thick darkness that lurks in obvious sight
permit me to call this day-night.
There is a wickedness rising, a wickedness that chokes the very light out of humanity,
Fostering death rates, murder, suicide its crazy!
Hurt, pain, hatred is raging!
A wickedness is rising and there’s no one fighting
I thought He said there’s an army rising
I thought He said these are the light of the world shining
I thought He said when we say our prayers humbly and change from our ways totally
Then He’ll our land wholly and remove this anomaly we have come to accept as living
Listen!
Something, something has gone abysmally wrong!
Something must have been lost cos as years add up to decades, ages
It seems all we refer to are the good old days is it me or do we speak as though the best of our lives are behind us
Are we only decreasing, our earth depleting our hopes descending
Something has gone abysmally wrong
Isn’t it obvious we can’t see any more ‘cos an eye for an eye has left us all blind
So when we are hurt we suddenly drop to our lowest animalistic nature
even though all we stand to gain is war.
Something has gone abysmally wrong
This culture of selfishness we seem to daily be preaching
Today breeds the darkness we’re inhabiting
And the satisfaction we so earnestly crave eludes our reach
Can’t we see that something must have gone abysmally wrong,
We are lacking the most important of them all,
We have lost focus on what makes us one.
Sure you can speak in unknown tongues and prophecy,
your spiritual discernment at an all-time high
Sure you can divide this word of truth and sing effortlessly through its parts
You can raise the dead and move mountains still you lack the greatest of all
call it, Poetic Justice
‘cos the day this world turned its back on true love we struck a void
And so long have we tried to fill it up
still we would stand in broad daylight amidst a budding crowd
and a lonely empty world it still will be, the darkness ever so real.
So let there be light
Let’s look past ourselves our needs to be met
Let the church of God take a stand and shine to the farthest
Let caring return to the streets, the beauty of living be once more seen in our giving
Let forgiveness set our hearts at peace our unity so strong it defeats our differences
Let brotherly love continue
Let harmony be the tune to which we sing to
Let the light of God flow through and the land be more inhabited with the brightness of His love
Let’s hold hands together, stand as one, brother and sister
Let us rise and unwavering army with one heart, one mind, one enemy
Let the darkness know there is army rising to break every chain! break every chain! break every chain!
Till victory at last we’re proclaiming!
Let the evil stay forever buried in the past that the better days may come before us
Let living be no more a struggle but a testimony
Let this promise land I speak of no more be just an ideal possibility
Let these last few lines represent our daily lives
For truly we can have heaven on earth before our very eyes
When we let love lead the way
Every day.
1 John 2:10: “He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him”
