I’VE KNOWN SIN

Don’t stare at me like that…

Lest the creator lose his wages…

and I become a mirror of my past.

Cast your eyes sternly,

Place your gaze appropriately,

Do I really look like a saint?

Well, I am one today.

But, once I was lost,

Now I am found.

Once I was blind…

Now I can see…

Once I was sold…

Now I’ve been bought

Redemption shines all over me,

Like a glow of many colours,

Decorating all parts of me…

I have known sin,

I have been there…

Nothing I have not seen…

I’ve known lies, not by others.

I’ve known masturbation, not by definition

I’ve known fornication, not by explanation

I’ve known murder, not by imagination

I’ve known sin!

I’ve done it all!

Mercy gave me a second chance…

Love made it possible…

I took that chance when I accepted my saviour,

Just like a hungry child receives a plate of food…

His blood poured like a fountain…

Washed away the dirt, fanned away the odour…

Now, I stand redeemed and favoured…

Bearing the name- RIGHTEOUSNESS…

Even though I never labored…

So, next time you stare at me…

Always remember that I am a sinner turned saint,

Because JESUS made an exchange…

He is GOD MY RIGHTEOUSNESS.
