Pivot Station

God to the Man
Holy the hands
Heavenly broadcast
Bless the expanse
Son
Help souls flee the entrap
Meant for the more than a lap

Chains hit the ground—God’s love was the plan
and
God’s is the order and height
Inbuilt grace seasons the sub
stance
Will of the father
Be Saved or deleted and stolen from time and chance
Seas
Swim to the name and chant
Eat
Break ye the bread and pass
Eat
Drink ye the blood and bathe
Eat
Say to the mountain
Bless me

God to the man
All for the land—ugh!
Freaky escapes
Such high stakes—ugh!
God is too good
And there’s much more to be understood
Creation awaits and eternity is unto the fabric of food
True food made of the Word of God
Now Hiring
Now Hiring
We’re seeking Sons of God
Someone to take

God to the man
God to the land
God to the couch and God to the TV
God to the start of every man’s story
God to the air and God to the busy—easy, if a man hasn’t clung to money
God to the clung and to the ones set-free
God to the life and death of things
God to the man and to the scenes

God to the man
Do you read me?
God to the man
Do you read me?

As I am

They say a man is measured
by the weight of his word.

If that is true,
then I stand no taller than politicians—
men fluent in promise,
faithless in keeping,
yet returned to power
by the same hands they failed.

Maybe this is Nigeria.
Maybe this is salvation.

God, choosing men like me
with a history of broken vows,
each one carried
on the tip of my tongue.

And every time I fall short,
He leans close—
not to condemn,
but to remind:

There is grace for this.
Enough to stand again.
Enough to stand before Him.

He asks for nothing polished,
only that I come
as I am.

Greetings

Calvary greetings from our Father, the Lord of Host,
The King of heaven
Who was
And Who is
And Who is to come,

The Lord,
Mighty are His Works,
Great are His words
Nothing spoken ever returns void,
It must accomplish,
Though it tarries

Listen, you who labour,
Thou heavy-laden fellow,
Listen to the Word of the Lord,
Rest is here,
Salvation has come
And He bids you, come

“I’m gentle and humble,”
He says,
“I’ll give you rest for your souls,”
He says,
“Take my yoke, for it’s light,”
He says,

Greetings, child of God.
This is the Word of the Lord.

Love as a Sword

Matrices and Tetris with funds and where they’re needed
Not enough a pause to stop and heave relief indeed
As we proceed
The tiers of tears stack a volume rancid
Jesus be like, “Tag me.”

Murderers and Traitors abroad the land in nooks and heights
Mother asked for success, I’m bored with base human delights
Morning Glory is your Word empowering, and I answer like a sacred thing
For before I ever spoke, I had made a praise offering
Jesus be like, “Tag me.”

Tag me and the Kingdom comes
Love will listen, love will calm
And some cases, love will slam
Whatever the options,
Surrender to his balm, it embalms all the flesh moves
When we show up how He wants, there are gasps too
Exceedingly abundantly,
Are you never not entertained?

In Tiriuh

Point love to the king of kings
Been a lil’ while since I went hard
Maybe I’m a lil’ selfish, lil’ elvish
But I want to make God both Quality and Rubbish
You see He likes to make things into stories
Like a bomb that can Bansho Tenin
I’m more Zion than Zenin
But yo! I redefined what it might mean to be an Achi-kanu

Shout Hallelujah when you get Niel, Quchi or Godzniel
And some say Dragon, but I chose each name like a good spell
Nigerian criteria, born with a second holier birthday
Word Foodie, Father told me cut it sideways

Waiter

Lord, I lack the sadness needed to be straightforward
Some who know the facts will shrug like, ‘This Coward!’
But I only send these scream-shots to you
I will alley-oop my cares to you,
Lord, you are calm and veto
Encore, until I’m Phillip’d to a new location

Lord, I lack the angst to call storms a problem
What I ask for Lord is grace to be ardent
Grace to be fervent, you are my extent
Straightened by the Word, I recall when I was hell-bent
And if you weren’t backing us up, we’d be fronting
Joking
And all the whole being eaten while your mercy kept us breathing – Ahhhhh

Lord, I…
Look to you when I count my trophies
Souls you snatched out the fire
How can coals be riches?
I rely on your plan, but this path is treacherous

Niel,
Learn to close your eyes and let the silence permeate
Babies bring immense joy, but they’ll make you wait
Now relate, to how you ghost and resurrect at your behest
If I’m patient with my kids, you should copy and paste
Love them like I love you
Sacrifice and pray too
Let no taste deceive you
Let your mercy shine through
And when they annoy you, while saying they love you
Do that thing that I do
Give their good a good zoom

And wait…

Lord, I lack the nonchalance for this
Then feel; walk the storm and let the water mix
I told you long ago that My grace is more than enough for this
Ha!
Watch and pray and do not faint to this
The joy has developed so you have all the strength to love through this

Diss
Oh! to slash my way through all of this
But I know your way is better, so I’ll wait for it
Cook this story how you please
Ease, never was among your promises
After all, you’re with me land, air or seas
You send your word and Ctrl-A-Del disease
And you know the whole path from the start of each
I will wait, Lord, your whisper is enough wings

Copy that, Over

*some parts of this poem is written in Nigerian Pidgin English

If e easy, come run am
I’ll be up in the Word, my Adullam
I am who God’s grace says I am
I’m descended from more than one Adam

See the place wey I dey na Jesus
Boast in the doings that he does
Yeah, he cut me free, no scissors
The only one who truly sees us
Frees Us

Freeze us into your discipline
Power to live way above all sin
Party in heaven, my invites are in
Daddy with Jesus and all im pikin dem
We feel am before e start to dey happen
The harvest surprise even devil sef
You go fear God, meaning business

Who dem be where dem dey?
Who born dem no be play

When the next breath could be the end
Christ is such proof you can’t pretend
If e easy, come run am
I’ll be up in the Word, my Adullam
I am who God’s grace says I am
I am who God says I am, Sir

Consonance

I dream of a day when my smile won’t be an illusion,
A day where there’s an alignment between my emotions
And the carvings they make on my face,
A day where my mind bears the fruits of joy and happiness,
A day when my soul isn’t a carcass infested by fear,
A day where my heart isn’t a timed bomb waiting to explode,
A day where my spine isn’t grabbed by anxiety,
A day when my scars aren’t just painful memories but wise lessons,
A day when my healing is the path for someone’s healing,
A day where the palpitations in my heart are from good news

So, while I wait for my dreams to hatch
Into a reality I can feel in my palms, I’ll wear this smile,
A smile that’s not the disposition of my heart
A smile to cloak the tremors of my mind,
I won’t lose sight of the hope I have in my Master’s Touch,
The touch that stopped the bleeding of 12 years,
That moulded new pairs of eyes for the blind
That will bring me to the day when my smile is not an illusion
But till then, I’ll sit here, deeply rooted in HIS word.
