LOVE LIKE NO OTHER

It’s 4am in the morning

And one thing keeps me smiling

Feels like four Amens won’t do

When I hear of how much you love Jesus too

See there’s no other love quite like this one

He’s not just anyone, but The One

The Trinity: Father, Spirit, Son

This love renders one undone

Perfect present cleansing is this love

For me and you and 7 trillion others more

No truer song has ever been sung

Behold what manner of love the father has given unto us

This kind of love fills any void and colors in all grays

It’s how I draw each and every breath of my praise

This kind of love is untamed and unrestrained

Yes this love has a name, name above all names

Love so amazing (Amazon) it literally speaks life

Love so transforming; it’s 100% successful every time

Love so fulfilling it overflows: rivers of life

Love so immortal He never dies

If this love were a star, it would be a galaxy

If it were a drop, it would be the deep blue sea

If it were a minute, it would be eternity

It is something and simultaneously everything

Isn’t it odd that this Love is one so even

Isn’t it unforgivable the much we’ve been forgiven

Isn’t it inhuman his love for us humans

Isn’t it deep the height of this love from God for man

A free gift that paid the world’s most expensive debt

Blood-wash that leaves one white as snow

Removing the stains of sin, hurt, pain and regret

Priceless heirloom which on us was bestowed

Take a mirror and marvel: Love at work

Take a bible and Learn: Love’s architecture

Never was there any thing surer

Than this love of which we are born

The melody of my heartbeat is this love

The missing piece to every puzzle is this love

The song of my soul’s salvation is this love

The solution to every problem is this love

Sing aloud love’s song

Dance a jig for what love’s done

Love came for one and all

Love lives in all who answer the call

Like the season for this love I fall

Like the month I will march on and proclaim this love to all

This timeless gift is present and everlasting

It grows with every share, a love worth broadcasting

I relish in the thought of one day beholding love’s face

To see before me what was always within me: vase

Amazing love tis a sound so delish

I can only imagine what that would be

Oh the questions I’ll have when we meet face to face

Dear love, to be wrapped in your warm embrace

Yet somehow I feel all the questions may fade

But one thing I won’t hold back are the tears that’ll cascade

This love knew my pain and held on still

This love I threw away but he kept fellowship

This love I never deserved still he gave me him

This love I proclaim to see someday

Love that never led me astray

Love that always showed me the way

Love that made sure I was ok

Love is the reason I’m alive today

I dare say I love this love though so frail

For one thing, I’m sure would never fail

Is the love with which this love loves me every day

Hear me say I love this love once again

When once I tried my life to take

This love dove into my despair

When once I was shattered by heartache

My heart, this love, did mend and repair

When in doubt I stare at hopes gone

Love holds my hand and Faith restores

When words I cannot find to ease my heart

Love forms these lines that some call art

What’s in a name? What’s this love called?

This four-letter verb that has us enthralled?

The name, The Word, for a love so unique

That without it, my soul fades and my heart becomes weak

Perhaps when tomorrow will be in view

I would know what words could describe you

Perhaps my wonder as I stand in your view

Would let me see endless depths you love me through

This wonderful promise so amazing and true

It’s open to all, it’s available to you

Ready your heart for this gift we speak of

Christ’s unconditional and unchanging love

We testify of something so good for you

No need for diets you can’t overfeed on this truth

We write so you read and confess too

The love of God is true and for you

A poem by Lisa (www.1WritersHeart.com) and Godswill (www.christapoet.com)

You heard it from me!

Hey there, my name is Favour Omeje and I write.

I have known the joys of writing especially wielding my pen to summon words together to tell the love story of ‘the Word’=Christ.

Writing has been to me like lending readers shoes to walk back and forth time to experience what good things, I have experienced in Christ; simply put, writing has become like a kiss and tell story.

Soon enough, I got signed up to the Christ A Poet team where I was given a loud voice to express my Christian experience. It was there that I took a dip in excellence and team spirit. Christ A Poet  Team provided different platforms for people like me who love to read and write to gain writing prowess while telling the Lord’s story in diverse translations. One of such platforms is the Freestyle Friday.

Freestyle Friday is boundless needless to say.

This is how we do it:
We gather virtually on our social media platforms where a theme is dished out; then we all do justice to it using the different forms of literature available to man.

This time, we want you to share in the experience that we have enjoyed exclusively as team mates for years and you don’t have to be committed to us to enjoy this.

Just follow the link and request entry!

Do you love to read?

What about write?

Then you don’t want to miss this fun. You can take my word for it!

Crossed Roads

So, here I am,  stuck on the cross

Paying the ultimate price for my wrong

Feeling my life seep slowly out of me

Looking down at my accusers, scorning me and my colleagues.

Well…

Colleague and one other man

Of  whom I know so little about

Of all the things I’ve heard,

It’s that he doesn’t deserve to be up here

Well, my colleague thinks otherwise

Since he’s been taunting and  mocking him,

“If you really are the Christ, then save us!” he says

“how can you say such, seeing we deserve to be here?” I answered.

However when I look at him

I felt an indescribable thing

So different from what I’ve felt since I made my first kill

I knew, I just knew he was going somewhere

Somewhere good.

So maybe, just maybe, I could go with him

So, I throw in me last bargaining chip

“Lord,  remember me when you come into your paradise”

Then he turned his eyes to me.

And I wondered, “how could someone in such amount of pain,

Much greater than the one I’m feeling, have such compassion?”

He says, ” I assure you,  today, you well be with me in paradise”

Then peace flooded my heart

I knew that for once in my wretched life

I’d finally done the right thing.

#TheConversation

We The Thomas

We look beyond the curtain of logic

Certain that faith is the answer we seek…

We, who once reeked of depravity;

The ultimate gravity that governed us.

We listen to their testimony of victory

From the damnation we all once wore;

Our long lost core — sons of disobedience

Our grand patrons…

He heard of the call to come and

Drink freely from life giving water

The identity that our belly now carried…

We became little Thomas;

Come as you are we see as a deception…

We came and still doubted,

Denied the life we received more than Peter

We litter this new haven with perdition story…

But He waits still to clear our head

Of the effect the drug we bought from Lucy’s store years back

And open our eyes to the beauty we are

Which words fall short of

UNMASKED by Kingsley Ohakwe

He feeds strength to my vigourating weakness

And light to my luminating darkness

Feeds my worry filled organs with humour

Shielded in his grace, he is my unseen armour

Defiled laws to keep me undefiled

Defined laws which were undefined

Brings the gold out of this dust, to no longer keep me unrefined.

Fed salvation unclad

The road to my mansion is untarred

Though the devil seems undeterred

The flames in hell do not retard

Mountains wax down in his presence

The whole living still can’t comprehend his ominipresence

Sole being in history that has the remote to the future and present

Souls living in misery, he took out of dark corners where the smell is loud and pungent;

With evil as its paints

Placing them on a cloud of scent

Sing with the crowd of saints.

He kept my fears under my pillow, thats why they are suffocated before I wake

The earth may quake

But the hymen of his word knows no break

A life staked for billions sake

A stripe healed more than a billion mistake

Into skin, himself he baked

Our sins he raked, caked and  devoured

Beside the Almighty in heaven, was his to take.

Everyday Jesus – Sunday (A poem)

Hello sunday
So soon
Here you are again
You evade our hearts
With some kind of feeling
“Go to church”

Blimey, sunday
A little observation
Men! Yes human beings
Most of them aren’t sincere
Whenever they see you
They adjust, and re-adjust to be called the just.
We are pretenders, offenders
We carry the bible on your evasion
Just to claim timed salvation
Poor decision, poor innovation

Listen sunday
There is a lot going on
Disgusting things.
On sunday, is when my fellas will carry their bible to read
Or even loud their stereo, listening to christian songs
Or even raise their voices, singing to be noticed.
O sunday, what have you brought on us?

Sunday, maybe I am the one getting this tough, so rough
Maybe it is not your fault
It is a default thing
Men invented it
We allowed the busy scene of life to get us carried away
Or you caused it?
Nooooo, not you
Nooooo, Not us
Ooooooooooooohhh!
I think it’s us
We are lazy
Lazy to face the facts
Enemies of ourselves
We are always carried away
Away, like a sheep.

Sunday, maybe it is not us
Maybe it is us…
Sunday, it is us…

EVERYDAYJESUS’ ‘Other man’s dream?’ (A poem)!

What do you want for you?

Casting off this burden

Chasing the cheapest dream

Yet expecting to meander amidst the richest valleys

All seems vanity

Like it’s a mere desire

So the state of many

What if then I ask that

What do you want for you?

Will the answer solve the wave within?

Or just a common man’s answer?

Severally, it feels like saying am done

When the odds refuses to say ‘I’m gone’

Like a corn, all just fade in solely state

All for a taste, a chase that brings little

Why then living another man’s dream?

Why pretending as if your action is justifiable

When all you are doing is barely for the crowd

As a crow, the cloud of greatness initiates less

What if then I ask

What do you want for you?

Bones are fading

Days nearing to apocalypse

So the eclipse of doubt expands

Thought fails

War is yet raised

In division, so is the mission

What if I get a lamed answer?

What if you are tamed?

Why won’t you then find an answer to this question!

Author note:

What do you want for yourself?

Wish and dream?

Vision and action?

Will you get an answer to this, poets?

Everyday Jesus wants us to Consider our lifestyle

Cymbals

Men pleasing has become our Baal

Our life the bar of Balaam

Upholding norms

Losing the form of God in us.

Drums

Beating our chest in pride

Our tittle knowledge has got us riding

On the things we never were

And the things that can never form in us.

The melodies of our guitarist

Our lying tongue

And the wrongs we call right

Has left us in deserts

Of will

Our heart milling endlessly

The next rhyme to call rhema

We play with the dead

Yet claim to be living

Yet life abides in us still

Our doings suffocating it

And  the trumpet of of voice void

Of any goodness

Other than sycophancy

The cymbals we lived

And the cleansing power we received

In his blood

The thick red fluid that makes us white as snow

Now we know

It’s nothing other than a thought
