What are the things that do not make you a member of the body of Christ?
What are the requirements for membership in the Lord’s church?

One of the most interesting things about the Christian race is how you don’t get it all at once. What I mean is, the moment you give your life to Christ trust me a lot has already changed within you and if you haven’t yet please do (You are missing a lot!). However, just like the bible says “…his mercies are new every morning”, all who have dared to seek a relationship with this awesome God can confess how amazingly new this experience seems to be everyday. Like we used to say when I was younger, one could read a verse from the bible for a whole year and get 365 different understanding from that one verse (supposing the person is very honest and hungry for more of God). Funny thing is he or she would have still not exhausted the wealth of knowledge in that one verse. Now, this seems much like a fallacy of generalization but what can I say, give it a try!
Unfortunately sometimes we tend to fall short of our part in this relationship and in the end, we miss out on amazing opportunities spiritually and in our daily lives. I know this because I have fallen prey to this several times (nothing I am proud of!) and now I know better. One of such occasions was a fateful morning on my way to work. I had entered a commercial vehicle that should convey me to a central area from where I’d continue to my office. As I settled in, I couldn’t help but notice how loud the driver was. At first, he seemed to have been in some sought of conversation with the other passengers but was distracted by some driving stunts other fellow drivers were putting out and he began shouting at them, obviously angry. I am not a fan of loud people so needless to say I was already uncomfortable but that was soon to be the least of my worries. Continue reading

you have a choice! You can watch it happen or make it happen. Grace
In spirit of MLK day, these words have been on my mind. Many people desire to impact the world in a gigantic way to create a better quality of life for the world. Hidden marks often make the greatest difference. A kind act, an empowering word, a warm smile, the gift of love, are some ways to make an impact on the lives of those you interact with daily. We must make sure our marks make a good impression. No matter how big or small; make your mark. Your mark matters!
The sun was calm with a general sense of stillness. The night was far spent, yet it shone so weakly like a malnourished child maltreated by a wicked stepmother. As Destiny(a cousin) and I strode along the way home from market, I couldn’t help the smile that came to my lips and I spread the whole feeling of excitement over me as I fed my eyes with the city paranoiac view. “Its good to be here in Enugu again”, I muttered.
The road became very busy, drivers of long trucks with high shrill voices were carried away singing as much as they wanted while veins stood on end on traders necks their foreheads glistening with sweat, a typical day at the market. Continue reading
a man walked into a cafe and saw a very big but really cute dog squatting near a small boy
being a dog lover, he wanted to touch it and then asked the boy ‘does your dog bite?’ and the small boy answered, ‘no not at all’
the man then reached to touch the dog and immediately, the dog held unto his hand and almost took a whole chunk of it off.
the man was infuriated and asked the boy in anger ‘but you said your dog didn’t bite?’ and the boy replied with a little smile, ‘but sir, that is not my dog’

a young boy who wanted to become the best baseball batsman in the world went into the yard to practice alone one afternoon with a ball and a bat.
on getting there he threw the ball up and tried to bat but he missed it and swung wild.
i have two more chances he reasoned, so he picked the ball again threw it up and swung wild one more time.
at this point he was getting discouraged but he decided to try one more time so he picked up the ball, spoke to it ‘ball, i am gong to hit you this time’ then he threw it up, focused, and took a swing,………
…..well that was the third time, and he missed again.
he smiled, picked up the ball and told himself ‘men! who knows; i might just be the best pitcher in the world’

Let us consider the earthly educational system for a moment. In an ideal situation parents raise their child to be well educated, hence such a child has to go through many educational centres with each phase having a specific time-frame. The higher one goes up the educational ladder, the more distinct the decisions to be made. Different people choose different courses of study especially at the peak of this ladder which is usually at the Tertiary educational phase. It is never possible that everyone studies the same course, because the beauty of life will be lost and there will be no order. The beauty and right order of life is in different people with different expertises, each person carrying out their role properly in a society.
This is the reason why we have different courses available in the tertiary institutions. And because we study different courses, we therefore go through different learning conditions, write different tests and exams, and also sometimes graduate at different times, depending on our course requirements and oftentimes the school involved too.
Now for a particular graduation year, Continue reading
