I TRIED

I tried friends
I felt surrounded but loneliness abode
I was looking for acceptance
Expectations were too high
*I stood no chance
Disappointment…
Loneliness…
Neglect…

I tried music
It worked…
For a while
The songs that always seemed to capture my feelings
Made me feel all the more*
Disappointment
Loneliness
Neglect

I was sinking
Spiralling into depression
I was merely existing
No reason to live

Gloom

Then, stained glass, pulpit, pews.
I found Him.
I’m dead now
Yes, He took over my life
The depression, loneliness, neglect cease to exist
I have a reason to live
No need to grieve
I feel so full of life

Let me do the introductions…
Meet Jesus
My friend, my brother
One like no other
The Lord of lords
Who opens doors
The ancient of days
He does what he says
The beginning and the end
Yes, He’s Godsend
And
You are
The one who needs Him
Just three steps
I believed
I received
I had faith
I tried?
I tried no more
It’s not too late.

DISAPPOINTMENT (IfeJesu)

I have been disappointed before. I know how it feels to pray and fast day after day for something and not get it. I know what it means to want something so bad, to hope for it so much and even start preparing for its arrival and nothing happens. I know what it feels when our “faith” fails (more like presumption because faith never fails when we  believe God for what He said he would do). I wondered why He didn’t answer until I stumbled across some passages that pointed out the reasons I didn’t get what I want.
First, James 4:2 says “You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.” Have you gotten on your knees to pray for what you’re so bothered about and if you have, James 4:3 says, “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.” What are your motives? To show off? To please other people? Or just because others are asking and you don’t want to feel left out? What are your motives?
1 John 5:14 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” Note: According to His will. When we ask God for something and He does not give us because it is not according to His will, we start to blame Him and make Him seem wicked. He wants the best for us. We should ask God to help us to pray according to His will. 1 John 5:15 says, “And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. Remember Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please God…” We should rely on God totally without having any Plan B. Did I just say that? Well, yes, I did because a Plan B means God might fail. GOD DOES NOT FAIL. He should be the first one we run to when we have crisis and not an uncle we believe has money to give us or the drugs at the pharmacy or a friend for advice.
So, if we pray about our issues with the right motives, according to God’s will, believing He has heard us and that He will answer in His time, there will be no room for disappointments.

‘ME’….

When last did you sit and consider, ‘Maybe the problem is really me’?

No, really! Forget the cliché and think of the reality that maybe that ghost you keep running away from is ‘me’….

Your shadow distorted by the dim light of deception, a darkness that so easily besets you…

No, really! I need you to think and remember that time someone pointed out that flaw and you said ‘No! no that’s not what I do’…..

You remember ‘I don’t wanna hear about this any longer you’re making me sick with this argument’ and all the while you’re the only one talking or well you and yourself because the words around you can’t be louder than the voices in your head so instead you tell every one else to shut up knowing fully well that the real person to be hushed is you….

Make no mistake ‘me’ does not just affect the heathen so don’t confuse the call to come out from among them as a message of isolation from just people, it was a call to slowly, painfully but eventually break free from ‘me’…

Don’t do that! Don’t you dare go back on that deluded lane, can’t you see it has left you in doubt and utter denial for so long? Who told you that the issue is the devil…

Oh yeah right I figured it was ‘me’ giving you all the power you needed to push the blame on the very accuser you empowered by your fears and insecurities.

Well the good news is that the victory is in the consciousness, faith does not deny the problem but it enables a recreation. ‘Yes I was convicted but by his blood I am acquitted no longer bound to ‘me’ because you are raised in and with Him

#AllHailTheKing

Tis a season to be merry
To give to the needy
To celebrate the birth of Jesus …

Whatever your reasons may be to so eagerly await this holiday; I’d like you to bear a thought in mind, Jesus came so He would die. He was born to come collect our punishments for our sins and forever nail them on the cross, forever breaking the bonds of sin and sickness.

I don’t mean to give another lecture on the Reason for the Season. I really am no fan of cliches…

Be it as it may, the world as we know it has set out the 25th of December of every year to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. You may not agree with my premise but it’s the truth. It is the BEAutiful truth and yes I know we ought to celebrate Christ everyday but “How beautiful and pleasant it is for brethren to gather together in unity…”

So I know you already get my point but here’s the thing…

I don’t want us to just talk,  I want us to act; not alone but together as brethren. Let us celebrate our greatest benefactor, our only Savior and Advocate, our Lord Jesus Christ: The One True Reigning King.

Right this moment Christians all over the world have taken to the social media platforms to celebrate the King in anyway they know how with the hashtag #AllHailTheKing and you ought to join in the praise. It gets all the more beautiful when we all do this together.

So from this minute up till the 25th of December 2015, let’s get praising together and get others in on the parade. Let #AllHailTheKing!

All you need do is update any of your social media accounts with the hashtag #AllHailTheKing or upload your pictures with the hashtag as well. Don’t put yourself in a box. Get to praising God just as you know how…

God bless you real good.

#Happy_November

What a year it has been…
Indeed God has been faithful.

Through this year we have run with the vision of “Greater works than these”  and sure enough it’s greater all the way.

In this month of November we would be introducing two new weeklies to keep us well nourished in the word of God.

On Mondays, enjoy a refreshing touch on the word of God with…

On Fridays, from one of our own, stay enlightened in the word with…

Ain’t that something, now the key is to stay expectant. You’re set for an explosion in your mentality.

Stay graced.

Write, The Vision.

One of the simplest errors that occur in ministry is when the vision is forgotten. The minister gets so engrossed in running he soon forgets why he began the race in the first place. I have fallen prey to this far too many times and I have come to learn and appreciate the scripture in Habakkuk that says “Write the vision”.  Sincerely I have the vision of this team written in so many places, marked on my bible and all that. Such that when I start loosing drive or focus I go back to what God said at first and its been awesome. I’m saying this so you can ask yourself “what got me here in the first place?” When you’ve got it figured out, write it down. Visit it frequently. You’d be glad you did.

Now, the Christ A Poet Team was founded basically on a need to make this gospel of Christ known through the unique gift of literature. The gift of writing. One of the things God has clearly laid in my heart concerning this team is to raise Christ-a-poet(s). At the time I got the name I had foggy understanding why but down the road God made it clear He wants to build us into writers that are Christs(saviours) in this world. God is building an army of writing Christs in us and you and I can testify He has surely been teaching and grooming us ever since we joined this beautiful team. See that’s one reason amongst why God chose the name team for us. He wanted us to train together like team would, grow together, complement each other such that when it is game time we become a formidable force. We train to win. We grow to go out and teach. That brings me to what God showed me in Ezra.

You see…Scribes, They at different times occupied different positions such as secretaries of state, study of the law, multiplication of copies of the law, teaching of the law, documenting prophecies, transcribe the law, at a point the scribes wielded more power than the priests. In Ezra’s day he was described as “a ready scribe” Ezra 7:6 I came to understand that to mean Ezra was skilled at what he did but what dintinguished him to be was what vs 10 said “For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgements”. The Lord stopped me here and made it clear, as a team this is what we’re called to do. Who we are called to. We are first to seek Gods word, then do it and then teach it. No part of this process ought to suffer neglect. You see later down the road especially during Jesus’ day the scribes missed it somewhere but that doesn’t mean God is no more interested in this office. You see that’s why He put a pen in your hands, that’s why those scriptures are opened up to you more than others see it, that’s why you can sit from afar and observe life as we know it, that’s why you can put words together into a most compelling message even with no formal training in the art, it is why you’re in this team today. God wants to speak in your heart knowing fully well you’ll write it down. He wants to be with you He wants to build you He wants to send you but not on your own He will most definitely go with you. That’s it!
Hallelluyah
God called you and I to be his scribes, his secretaries of state, his pen, a ready pen.

A worthy Scribe!

What excites me even more is eyes have not seen, ears have not heard neither has it entered into the imagination of man what God has planned to do with us.

So don’t just hang around, get in the mix. Our God is awesome. What a blessing He sheds on our way.

I KNOW A WOMAN

I know a woman who is beautiful in form, in heart and in works. creative and strong-willed she is

I know a woman who had a business that wouldn’t yield increase. Friends and neighbours advised her to venture into other businesses other than hers.

I know a woman who wouldn’t listen to idle talks nor take discouragement to heart, refusing “can’t do” for an answer.

I know a woman who didn’t stop trying, remained focused and expectant, that latter days would speak for itself.

I know a woman who prayed her way through, had a filter in her ear and achieved with God as chief.

I know a woman who after few years is envied by many, celebrated by the high and low including her friends and neighbours that thought she couldn’t succeed there.

I know a woman who didn’t give up on her dreams, but fought the odds and won in style.

I know a woman who understands the power of God mighty in all and of a god that she is, not letting circumstances stop her.

I know a woman who can rise when she falls, virtuosity personified, and happy that she never let go of God and herself.

I know a woman who can PERSEVERE
