WWF- Don’t Just Prophesy, Teach Also.

Prophecy is to be spoken over God’s people, while God’s word is to be sowed as a seed into their heart. Prophecy is like the rising of the clouds and the falling of rain subsequently… But without proper tilling of the ground of the people’s heart and the breaking up of the fallow ground of their heart, via the word of God (thorough and continual teachings of God’s word), there shall be no particular harvest of that spoken prophecy, nor any positively tangible manifestation to that effect.

As a matter of truth, you can only expect more wild weeds to grow in their hearts rather, just as rain will do to an uncultivated farmable ground. Meaning, deterioration may even set in instead.

Please, do not just prophesy over God’s people, you need to also sit them down and thoroughly teach them God’s word, that the prophecy may abundantly produce results. Teach God’s people how to war a good warfare with God’s word on their own, for every prophecy to have an absolute fruition in them. More time should be dedicated to teaching and explaining God’s word to God’s people, for greater and ever increasing harvests. Prophecy without teachings of God’s word is like a car without engine. It won’t do much, won’t make much difference in the people’s life. Understanding God’s word helps a man to properly war a good warfare with the given prophecies of God to that man.

1Tim. 1:18

This CHARGE I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

#EVERYDAYJESUS is the revelation of God

Not really!

(I’d love to say I hate to say this but I’ve been telling every theologian I meet so; I guess I love it.)

The Tanakh (Hebrew Bible), which comprises of the Torah(Moses), the Nevi’m (Prophets) and the Ketuv’im (Writings), is a highly misread book. There are Hebrew traditional commentaries that usually must accompany the reading of the Tanakh which was almost totally ignored when the Tanakh was renamed the Old testament by the Medieval Church.

The fact that Hebrews 6-10 repeatedly tell us the old one was faulty should give us a pause when we read the old testament. God, by saying “this is my son, in whom I am well pleased…listen to him”, has not only publicly announced Jesus symbolically and emphatically as the anointed one, or Christ (or Messiah), but he has also pointed out the lens by which we, gentiles (thank you Hannah, I snap to you too), can and should see God. If the Jews, to whom the Tanakh belonged, could be so blind they don’t see the salvation in front of their noses, I think we should take heed to look through Jesus, at the old testament.

#EVERYDAYJESUS is the revelation of God

For example, did God not say Moses is his Servant with whom he talks, face to face?

Yet we now know, no one has seen the Father except the Son who is from the Father. So, who is exaggerating? Moses or Jesus?
When you consider John’s example of ‘the disciple whom Jesus loved’ which is found only in his account, you see that writers took such liberties, so Moses and the unknown writer of Job obviously did. There is no demarcation in the old testament between lore and History.
It would be wise therefore to be careful to look through Jesus, the Spirit of God, because the letter really does kill.

My people perish for lack of knowledge and the Jews normally had anointed prophets who read them the Tanakh until John the baptist.

You see John didn’t bother even though he was born a Levite, and a priest by lineage, yet he waited for the real truth.

Don’t tell me the Bible is the truth. The Bible is true as much as it points to Jesus.

John 5:39-46
39 You search and investigate;and pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you think that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me!
40 And still you are not willing [but refuse] to come to Me, so that you might have life.
41 I receive not glory from men [I crave no human honor, I look for no mortal fame],
42 But I know you and recognize and understand that you have not the love of God in you.
43 I have come in My Father’s name and with His power, and you do not receive Me [your hearts are not open to Me, you give Me no welcome]; but if another comes in his own name and his own power and with no other authority but himself, you will receive him and give him your approval.
44 How is it possible for you to believe [how can you learn to believe], you who [are content to seek and] receive praise and honor and glory from one another, and yet do not seek the praise and honor and glory which come from Him Who alone is God?
45 Put out of your minds the thought and do not suppose [as some of you are supposing] that I will accuse you before the Father. There is one who accuses you—it is Moses, the very one on whom you have built your hopes [in whom you trust].
46 For if you believed and relied on Moses, you would believe and rely on Me, for he wrote about Me [personally].

TWS- NEW YOU

A number of things happen at REHAB. Of all of those things, I’ll pick out two that relates to the thought I have been sharing in this series:

One of the things that happens at REHAB is that your old self is taken away and a new you comes out. God through the working of the Holy Spirit removes the things that were hitherto making your life miserable. Everything that make you lag in this liferathon is taken away and a new person is imputed. This could be habits, friends, addictions etc., they are all taken care of here.
I have shared how I struggled with my past life for almost a year after I got born again. I had friends that I knew I should send to the outer circle, but yet, I could not bring myself to tell them that I had found Jesus. I knew I was saved, but I was struggling with letting go of some kind of friends. I have also shared how I got addicted to alcohol, that I wondered within myself how it got that bad considering my foundation. It took REHAB to get rid of those lifestyle and for me to fully embrace the new life I found.

It is not always an easy process, but it is a worthy venture. It will definitely take a lot from you. It would take you denying yourself of some things that naturally used to give you pleasure. This things could be food, company, home, comfort etc. This is the way of the Eagle. It makes the decision to strike off its beak, and pluck out its old talons and feathers. This is where you play a role in REHAB. You have to give God the permission to remove all those things that need to be removed. When they are removed, you can now see the new you emerge.
You cannot enjoy this new life, if you are not born again. You need to acknowledge Jesus Christ as your saviour and make Him Lord of your life. He is still in the business of giving a new life and He will give you today if you let Him. Do not push this any further, this is a wonderful opportunity to get rid of all those things that are wearing you out. Just pray to God to come into your life and make it brand new.
If you have done this, I want to congratulate you. You have started a journey of a life in Christ and for that, I commend you. I also will encourage you to find any Assembly of believers for help on how to fully access the fullness of this new life. If you contact me, I’ll gladly help you. I love you and I look forward to hearing from you. You can call (+234)08063566730 or write me through transformingwordseries.wordpress.com

Stay blessed and please share.

WWF- FEAR & SIN

Not standing in faith is as deadly as living in sin. Fear works just as sin, though from different sides. The both target at the same endpoint, to get one out of God’s will, God’s best, and with the ultimate motive of taking one to hell at last, if possible. Fight against fear as much as you do sin, by standing in the finished work of Jesus Christ always, and decisively yielding yourself DAILY to the simple truth of Jesus Christ. Profess to yourself always that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and mean every word from your very heart each time.
Romans 14:23

… for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
Revelation 21:8

BUT THE FEARFUL, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, SHALL HAVE THEIR PART IN THE LAKE WHICH BURNETH WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH.

TWS- RENDEZVOUS

Hello, my name is Godswill. I am the Chief Editor and resource person on the Christ-a-Poet team for the Transforming Word Series. I would sincerely like to apologise for the inconsistencies related with our weekly TWS posts and I take full responsibility as our facilitator, Mr Ibeh Uche Sam, has not failed in making available his very rich content on time. A number of circumstances have played resulting in these inconsistencies however, I will see to it that such circumstances are handled properly without hindering the series. Here’s today’s installment and without fail be sure to check in right here, Monday by 10am every week for Transforming Word Series.

The early stages of liferathon is always rosy, bloomy and very much aglow. There is a sense of optimism and positive drive to get to the finish line victorious. You seem to have it all sorted out and everything is just dapper. You have already drawn out your expectations based on your immediate proclivities. Everything responds to your very command at the early stages. You’ve got the fervour and intensity to run.

Just like the Eagle, a time comes when all the plans begin to fizzle, the future begins to look bleak, expectations begin to lower and all the energy and intensity starts dying down. This could be as a result of difficulties encountered along the track or a number of other reasons. Like we have established in the series, this is when life happens. Here, you are faced with two options; give up or find a solution.

The easiest option always is to give up. Permit me to say that it is easier to die for something than to live for it. I am by no means bringing martyrdom to disrepute, but the choice of holding on and holding out is always the most difficult to make. You have to make the choice to live for something or die for nothing.

I encourage you today to take the Eagle’s way. Don’t quit yet, there is so much to live for. Don’t join the statistics of men who die full of potentials. For you to survive, you must locate your place of waiting; your Rehab. That is where you meet with God, your maker. That is the rendezvous. For the Eagle, it is the mountain. Where is your rendezvous?

“But those who keep waiting for the Lord will renew their strength. Then they’ll soar on wings like eagles; they’ll run and not grow weary; they’ll walk and not grow tired.” Isa. 40:31 (ISV).

Stay blessed.

TWS- THE EAGLE’S WAY

The Eagle gives us a perfect picture of how effective Rehab can be. The Eagle can live up to Seventy (70) years. To live this long, it goes through a process in its life. This process is not an easy one, it is a painful one.
The talons of an Eagle works properly for Forty (40) years. After Forty (40) years, its talons become weak. Thus, the Eagle will be unable to grab a prey. Its long and sharp beak also becomes bent. Its thick feathers become stuck to the chest due to its heavy wings. This makes soaring difficult. At this point in its life, it is left with only two (2) options; either to give up and die or go through a painful process of changes that lasts for about five (5) months.
If the Eagle chooses to live, it flies to the top of a mountain and sits on a nest. The first thing the Eagle does is to strike its beak against a rock so it can pull out. When that is done, it waits for a new beak to grow. The next process is to pluck out its talons. As in the first process, it waits for new talons to grow back. The third process is the plucking out of old and thick feathers, and also wait for them to grow back.
When all these painful processes are completed, the Eagle will then wait for Five (5) months to recover and renew its strength. It can then soar again and enjoy a renewed life for another thirty (30) years.
We are getting there.
Stay blessed.

He found me…

…and just again I was disappointed. It felt like I slept through the journey and just when I thought I had landed, my hopes got crashed.
He, Mr Law, was really cool, even cooler you could chill drinks in him. He promised me satisfaction if I’ll continually obey. I could almost swear I had this locked in with a B and K because I was all ready to do what he wanted.
I gave in. Like a skin to a boil, I gave in for a swell time of my life.

I wanted to please him and earn his love and trust. But sooner than later, the usual dreaded realization dawned and I prayed to race out for it was all empty and void.
Worse still each try left me feeling so incompetent. He even made me see that it’s all my fault, all the time.
Maybe, I gotta get up and try and try and try…quitters never quit yea?

I’ve tried many times but it just doesn’t seem to work.
Something tells me that there must be someone, yes that one guy…that guy that loves completely.

But where is he?

My Soul longs to see

With him I crave to be

Maybe he exists only in my fantasy.
Even if he does exist, how much longer should I wait?

How much more time do I have to spare?

“A woman’s time flies…” or so they say;

I hope I’ll still be in mine when he calls.
I am really tired of testing and trying, tasting and spitting out.

My soul gets parched each time I do.

I just hope I’ll still be in my time when he calls.
Still lost in the noise of my very own thoughts, Which had long started to sound like music, I didn’t realize I had wandered off into the road I once denied.

A road so broad yet lacked space.
In this vagabond state, unable to discern what the morrow holds and barely caring what happens next, I heard my name.
I was stunned ‘cos never before had my name sounded such harmony.

T’was the most beautiful sound that has ever walked into my ears.
This voice so gentle yet strong and firm called for me to exchange my burdens for rest but having wandered so long, it sounded too good for trust…and again I felt there ought to be a price for it. Nothing goes for nothing.
In my state of doubt still, the voice beckoned. It still sounded too easy, I couldn’t give into that. My old lovers weren’t that nice.
The sweet voice persisted and then my eyes opened and I saw a spark of light which flickered in front of me.
Nothing and nobody can be compared to the one I saw standing in front of me when my eyes fully opened.

His eyes held so much love that penetrated and irrigated my soul.

The intensity of his tenderness was unbearable so that I fell, yes, I fell into his strong arms where my safety rests assured.

My head rested on a heart that beats for me and I drowned in a satisfaction that has never been conceived by nature.
I couldn’t help but ask Mr Grace where he had been all this while. As he spoke to me I saw his love. A love that is not affected by my inconsistencies. I didn’t even have to work for it…it was free! I just accepted it and that’s all I ever did.
He found me!

And sorry I was not in my time, I was in His.
