State of The Heart

I feel like I just stepped back in the house
Scars from the beasts I have given to wrath
And yes,
I swept my footprints and did all the math
But instead of doing maths we should do what we’re told.
Facts!
Welcome to the day after tomorrow
We still cry out from the snakes as we follow
Christ! Munching revelations from New York to Ondo
When yesterday’s stains are designs but we now know
Uncle, was it power? Were you mighty?

Almighty King ✨

Who is like You,
Almighty King?
Maker of Heaven and Earth,
I AM THAT I AM.
You alone are God;
Your Word is truth,
Your love is eternal.
Covenant-keeping God,
There is no King like You.
Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit,
And through the wisdom of the Scriptures,
My grace and peace multiply.
I have eternal life,
For I delight in You and in my Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Holy Spirit, You have empowered me.
Your name, my Lord Jesus Christ, is my banner.
I am Yours, my Lord.
You are my warrior,
My shield,
My glory,
The lifter of my head,
My greatest reward.
Everything I heard about You is true.
I have tested it in my life and family.
We are now the envy of the world
Because Your presence envelops us.
Receive all the honour,
Praise, and glory.

As I am

They say a man is measured
by the weight of his word.

If that is true,
then I stand no taller than politicians—
men fluent in promise,
faithless in keeping,
yet returned to power
by the same hands they failed.

Maybe this is Nigeria.
Maybe this is salvation.

God, choosing men like me
with a history of broken vows,
each one carried
on the tip of my tongue.

And every time I fall short,
He leans close—
not to condemn,
but to remind:

There is grace for this.
Enough to stand again.
Enough to stand before Him.

He asks for nothing polished,
only that I come
as I am.

LIVING HOPE

For years untold
Lies were paraded and sold
Exchanges made now and then
Men in power lying enslaved
Buried deep down in the wickedness’ cage

Truth walked the street
Not dressed in gold
Speaking from door to door
Disdained, ignored with tremendous loathing
Men bound yet rejecting freedom
Refusing God’s sent ones…

The burden bent men’s backs
Their bones creaking
Their glitter of hope in self fading
Their self-induced efforts yielding lime
Worn out in defeat, man remembered God
Cried out again, again and again

The Lord heard
The Lord in love sent them Moses a deliverer…
He declared to Pharoah God’s words:
“Let my people go!”
A refusal of the kingdom brought untold terrors
On him and his people
God’s power humbled the king until he could take it no more
He sent God’s chosen out in a grandstyle

Today, the oppressor laughs
Forgetting the God of yesterday, today and forevermore
“We have wounded and grounded them
Crushed and defeated followers of the Holy One,” they chant!
Yet heaven laughs at them…
For destruction, permanent and eternal, awaits the evil one
He is a mere walking dead
His fate longtime ago sealed for hell

Rejoice, oh ye saints of the Lord
Shout with triumph, you children of the Most High
For weeping may endure for a night
But surely, morning comes – bright and beautiful
For seasons change, says the Lord!

Fear of Freedom

Free will can be God’s will

But Lucy in his craft has created customs and traditions that keep you caged

Maya knows why the caged bird sings

It sings of freedom that comes alive only in dreams

It sings of power and triumph over wickedness

Wickedness dressed in fear’s fashion label

The sophisticated fear of being seen or known

The colour blocking fear for tomorrow

The conventional fear of being disagreeable

Or just the casual fear of leaving your comfort zone

If only the caged bird could stop romanticising her cage long enough to pick the lock

Nobody wants to hear the shrill tune of deep sorrowful lyrics

Action speaks louder than songs

It will fall before it learns how to fly again

The free fall, an exercise of its free will because it knows God’s will

And even if it falls to the ground, the few seconds of living is better than an eternity of letting life pass by.

Live!

Nothing will happen

The worst that could happen is death

And to die is gain

Aural

Offers are pending, the time is a ticking
The boom is impending, I feel it residing
The prison is reason
The King still is risen
No missions are missing, we’re just less misleading
The meaning is meaning the means and the meaning
Surrender and seasons but blessings unceasing

Legacy

My fathers prayed me a happy new year
I wrote requests and laughed away my welfare
I should teach Adelphoi how to cast care
I’m here with Father, pixel after plain text

Special

Because I’m your neighbourhood Grace-dispenser
I pray, Sir.
Tell me what it is that God didn’t plan for
There’s options. Na we dey like form physical Samson
Redaction
I kneel before the Abba of Power,
Hosanna Forever
And I’m never short of fireworks made of pure hallelujah
We’re going yet higher

Silence was the seventh seal
Christ’s flesh was the true meal
He is what’s right and what’s real
Yeah, I caught the dragon mid-steal
Power per megapixel

Jesus is final proof

*Some lines in this poem are written in Nigerian Pidgin English

God good I get proof,
See how Him dey pamper me like say I be Him only pikin

Damn that philosophy that there’s no God, His mercies are too sure, brand new every morning.

See the power at work in me because of He who conquered death and sin, ahh
If e easy, come run am.

See the place wey I dey,
I sit in high places with the most high
So, who dem be, where dem dey?
Jesus is final proof

Silent Power

If Silent Power had a name, Joseph would be it
Not Joseph son of Jacob
Not Joseph husband to Mary
But one Joseph who desired to see God’s kingdom come
He spoke and authorities listened
He did what the world fears to mention
He carried the dead body of not just any man or demi-god, but God himself
He fulfilled scripture because faith rendezvoused with wealth
Even when the news of resurrection spread
No one dared to accuse him of the Lord’s body
Sometimes I feel John the beloved might have a competition for the left seat besides Jesus while I watch from the right 😂
Humor me
That’s what silent power looks like
