Enough Said

Long way from the first—uncomfortable tennis
Never duck a smash—millisecond prayers
Emotions are just weather—we have martyrical ancestors
Life tests us—but He gave us teachers and pastors
I learned to spot prophets and to recognize apostles
Long way from the first—now I can make salt too

The Bible is a multiyear calendar and love letter
I invite every eye to the pages of the One Pater
Racing verses to the future
Changing translations, I’m an every word eater
Jesus is The Lord—skip the other options
Scouring sermons and apocrypha for grace applications
The day the Lord has made? We rejoice in all our rations
Hyenas may abound, but The Lord sent enough Lions

I phoenix from the Word—my retaliation is evangelical
Sharper than surgical—redeeming this Chronicle
It’s funny though
Looking back I see the subtitles to some acts too
And my repentance cost God a lot, Boo
It’s why I’d rather die than renounce this gospel
What is man anyway?—except when that man is a son of God too

Professionally me—30+ years experience
Still a child of God—kukutata when I speak in tongues
Yeah I dodge stress—when I fight, it’s to stay rested
The Lord reigns—and this needs to be more celebrated
But for His mercy, who would not have wasted?
Seasons when I’m shaken, but then I am reminded
Jesus is alive, tomorrow will be bested

Jesus is alive, Tomorrow will be bested
Long way from the first—now I know to stay dead
Now I see the Lord—the most highly seated
Jesus is alive, Amen is enough said

Pivot Station

God to the Man
Holy the hands
Heavenly broadcast
Bless the expanse
Son
Help souls flee the entrap
Meant for the more than a lap

Chains hit the ground—God’s love was the plan
and
God’s is the order and height
Inbuilt grace seasons the sub
stance
Will of the father
Be Saved or deleted and stolen from time and chance
Seas
Swim to the name and chant
Eat
Break ye the bread and pass
Eat
Drink ye the blood and bathe
Eat
Say to the mountain
Bless me

God to the man
All for the land—ugh!
Freaky escapes
Such high stakes—ugh!
God is too good
And there’s much more to be understood
Creation awaits and eternity is unto the fabric of food
True food made of the Word of God
Now Hiring
Now Hiring
We’re seeking Sons of God
Someone to take

God to the man
God to the land
God to the couch and God to the TV
God to the start of every man’s story
God to the air and God to the busy—easy, if a man hasn’t clung to money
God to the clung and to the ones set-free
God to the life and death of things
God to the man and to the scenes

God to the man
Do you read me?
God to the man
Do you read me?

Exactly Alike

He laid in the dirt and they looked exactly alike.

One flesh returning to where it lived,
Used to be the talk of where he’s from,
Loved by all; the stay and leave,
A realization hit,
That this finely-built boastful heap
Is a monument of sand.

When the wind blows on a house
When the rain beats on it
It falls, Santos.
Because falling, is exactly what this sand does.

He laid in the dirt and they looked exactly alike.
Colours of defeat painted on the two alike.
Down and trodden though not closen, have become their look-alike.

One day!
Words spoken fell on dirt’s ears
When the wind blew this time
Dirt rose.
Like soft flower petals in the wind
The natural colours of change
Something was different about this flesh.
It was lighter.
It was brighter.
It was beautiful.

And this time when it fell,

He laid in the dirt, and they didn’t look exactly alike.

Thirty-Eight Years

One wish, two wish, three wish
But the one who wished sat by the pool
Throwing heads in it for decades
Attempting to coin a legend
Instead of just flipping a coin
Attempting to make headway
Instead of spinning tales
Heads or Tails
For years

One problem, two problems, three problems
But the only problem that dodged solution
Catching new feelings for the heartless
Attempting to be the solution with a problem
Instead of just solving the problem
Solve for X, all the while, we dey ask Why
For years

One score, one goal, same pitch and depiction
But now the crack has become the description
Hoping is now exhausting, costly and insulting
Attempting is done is secret
Instead of youthful excitement
For years

Who cares

One life, One wince for One man
But who here does not know one story
Dysfunction functioning as the recap
Attempting to make the most of a beating heart
Instead of tearing apart, tearfully persistent
For years

One day, one name echoes one hope
But this is one lifetime after a long nope
Believing is harder when heaven said no once
Attempting to hallelujah from Hell’s shore
Ignoring heaven’s door, after knocking
For years

One moment, One touch, One Word
But the ripples wave to and from eternity
Creating new tomorrows from yesterdays that die today
Healing winged from a voice that preceded angels
Attempting explanation is futile, Jesus knows us all
Instead of ashes, the glory will wake armies of Sons
For years

Who believes

Won souls for one God
But sin no more, by might that is absurd
Trusting God doesn’t always follow known trends
Attempting is replaced with obeying
Instead of binary results, we are fruitful
For years

Post Espionage I

Eyes closed, lips sealed, not a ‘who goes’
Formerly a Mr. ‘Find me on my ten toes’
There’s no coughing in the coffin, everyone knows
No need to owe too when the wind blows.

Fingers locked in stoicism claw at inertia
Feet defeated by the space between death and forever
Formerly an Alpha but the issue is who issued you your designation
No tomorrow truly kills he who dies daily.

Tears offered tear grace from the eye of reason
True sons sit in sorrow and forget the Risen
Former systems kneel, but a human feels
No pretense is defense enough for life’s meals
No sensation summarizes how this life feels
In the end, what’s left will be what’s real.

Walking Dead but I’m living in Christ
That’s my mansion
Alter calls I answered thrice
Now I walk with God
Heavenly Receptionist, I reply with The Word
Stranger Things have walked this earth
Given free rein
Who the Son sets free walks a free reign
Ka-anyi ju No. 8 if the 7th virgin carried extra oil
Or carry extra oil so the foolish praise the Lord

Yeah I let the scriptures warp my world view
And snuck into the parties that the King of Kings threw
So pardon me for laughing but I have the Lord’s view
And I will be rejoicing when I’m saying ‘Adieu’.

Olorun Onile Oke

Olorun Onile Oke
God, the stronghold
In a world full of threats
I call you my Abo Oke
The one and only high fortress

The lord my eternal refuge,
Olu ibi Isadi
Your everlasting arms O Tobi Ju

With it you thrusted
Out my enemies from before me,
You silenced the voices That cried out threats

The threats that threatened to break all hell loose until my back hits the ground

You stood your ground In battle until their strongholds did rattle,
Mighty man in battle

Jagun jagun segun
You broke the gates of brass and cut the bars of iron in asunder

At the sound of my cry,
You caused the foundations of the hills to move,

You heard my voice
And the earth trembled,
You kissed away the tears from off my temple

Apata ayeraye,
The rock of ages,
My help,
In ages past,
You bowed down the heavens and came down

And when the thick darkness surrounding me saw you,
It took flight

My high fortress,
Because I have you I don’t even have to fight.

Ode to my father

As a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.
Deuteronomy 1:31

My father believes that children
Are God’s benevolence to a lineage
Treasures committed to their parents
So he lets himself shepherd them
Offering fortification & fortune

I’ve heard of fathers who bathe their children with curses
& then dry their future with a flaming tongue
But my father wakes up every morning
Breaks the dew of heaven on us
Greening us to greatness with his prayers—
Our shield against daily darts

Today, we are the celebrities he couldn’t become;
Giants the world applauds
But he, an unnamed hero who
Laid down his armour to watch us win
Oh, my father is such a jewel among other fathers!

Five Bullets I

First Bullet: TIME AND SEASON

    Like mad flood
    So is time and season.
Our ancestors, they lured into life
    Floated them in temporal presents
Dazzled the Age with great moments
     And took all away still.
Time is a respecter of no man,
  Season enthrones, season dethrones.
  Time and season,
How many souls have you buried?
How much ancestry did you align
   to bring me?
  Dear LORD, tell me plainly
  What must I do now
  Before your awesome technology
Takes me away into the unknown.
