TWS-BARE FOOTED

History was made in Rome during the 1960 Olympics. It was historic for so many reasons.

For sixty four (64) years of modern Olympics, no Sub-Sahara African had won gold in any category of the tournament. This was the Olympic game that re-wrote that history book. Abebe Bikila became the first Sub-Sahara African to win gold at the Olympics in the marathon category.

To ice the cake, he ran the race bare footed. The odds were highly against him. As a matter of fact, he was not originally billed to be at the tournament. He was only added to the Ethiopian Olympic team at the last moment, as a replacement for Wami Biratu, who was seriously ill.

Adidas, the shoe sponsor at the 1960 Summer Olympics, had few shoes left when Bikila went to try out shoes and he ended up with a pair that didn’t fit comfortably, so he couldn’t use them.
He beat the odds and set a record that was unassailable.

Let me pause and tell you that no matter the odds, you can still WIN! The odds may be against you, you may have come from an impoverished background, or you seem not to have the right qualifications. I have a God, who can take you from the backside of nowhere and place you in the midst of nobles.
He is my God!

He is your God!!

He is our God!!!
Halleluyah!

Stay blessed.

WWF-Seeking God’s Kingdom First.

Text: Matthew 6:31-34.
Let’s read it out loud to ourselves,

31
ESV:Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32
ESV:For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
33
ESV:But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34
ESV:Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Let this be firmly settled in your heart, that God means what He says, and He says what He means. No matter what, He is ever true to His word. Never let this truth elude you, irrespective of your feeling. Believe it and don’t ever doubt it! If you are doubting it already, you must work on your mind for restoration.

Now Jesus Christ said we should not be anxious for anything. He says our heavenly Father knows that we need them all. But why are we not having these things supplied to us constantly? It’s surely because we are not fulfilling the conditions for it.

-First, we worry a lot. I don’t know how many haven’t worried about one thing or the other so far this week. So, you see, we are faulting the order. There is a distortion in the process. Somebody may say, “But if I don’t worry, what will I do then?

-Jesus says further to us to seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness. He says when the order is kept this way, automatically all these things will be added to us. That’s exactly what to do! We are to be diving into God’s heart every time. We are to know how God wants us to comport ourselves ‘kingdomly’ in every situation. And that is not come by at once. The reason why the tense used in that 33rd verse is present continuous (from direct-Greek interpretation). I.e, Be ye seeking…

Brethren, the reason why many of us are not at the command of the supernatural is because we have not got it right on our seeking God’s kingdom first. God really desires for us to enjoy everything Jesus Christ paid the price for for us (and Jesus Christ actually paid the price for all things for us to enjoy God maximally), but He also wants us to understand how things work in the kingdom. So that we won’t get things messed up as we continue with our heavenly journey. He wants us to finish strong. He doesn’t want us to become a victim of the blessings He will give us. He wants us to control everything well, hence, the reason for a-must seek His kingdom first. We need to know the kingdom’s modus operandi, and carefully live by it daily.

See, if you reverse the order, by getting on anxiety business, this is what you will have: you will be trapped in the day-to-day evil. Let’s see that verse 34 again.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

From this word of Jesus Christ, God’s Spirit said to me, Anxiety traps a man in the day-to-day evil (trouble). If we let God’s order apply, God has put in each day an ability to worry for the things of itself, just to serve us, and men generally. So, when we stick to seeking God’s kingdom daily, then each day will have to take anxiety for the things of itself, just according to Jesus’ word. Then also all things will be added to us, as promised.

2Cor. 1:20
ESV: For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him (Jesus Christ). That is why it is through Him (Jesus Christ) that we utter our Amen to God for his glory

Beloved, please by the help of the Holy Spirit, pay attention to yourself daily, not to worry at all, that you may not be trapped in the evil of that day. Assess yourself daily on this. Train your brain into this truth now, for a faith-smooth ride for the rest of your life here in this present world.

Prayer: My Father, please, help me get it right as regards seeking first the kingdom of God and Your righteousness… Thank You, because I know that You are helping me now and always to walk in the fullness of my Lord Jesus Christ all my life, with all humility of heart. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I have prayed.
Amen.

QUICK QUOTEs

Jealousy makes you think less of yourself and more of the other.
Joseph’s brothers envied his dream but forgot they were STARS in the vision.
If someone is rising fast and you come unto him. You are a KING! Don’t get Jealous.
The word says Kings shall come to the brightness of your rising.

LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOUR

The greatest miracle on earth, a sinner came to repentance and is saved

Heaven rejoices for a new creations birth, now old things are passed away

Behold all things are new but please may I be excused

‘Cause if this hypothesis is proven theory

Why do I fall to the things I once rose up from?

Why do I feel like a couple once wed amidst cheers of joy?

Now wondering why their love has become a burden to endure

Why does it all now seem to feel like a fairytale

Where the magic only lasts till midnight with no prince charming come to find me

Glass slipper in hand, ready to rescue me from the depths of these dungeons

From these caves and chains, sins I once was saved from

I wish I could call out to the brethren

The ones who professed “Yes I love with you with the love of God”

But I know what they would say, who am I kidding?

I deserve to be here

Yes Jesus once forgave my sins but just maybe

Maybe the saving package just did not apply to customers such as me

So here’s my story

Once I was saved but now I am lost again and again and again

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

I just wish it would stop but again and again I fall prey

And yet I pray one day these chains will give way

So I can truly proclaim, I am saved.

This short piece is the unfortunate story of a lot of Christians today; in fact I too went through a phase such as this but now I know for a certainty that no one should have to go through this ever because Jesus did not just get crucified just so we could be forgiven of our sins, He died so we would be saved and He resurrected proving His power over sin and death, then giving us a chance to reign with him in the same power. It is however puzzling why too many Christians still live under the bondage of sinful habits and addictions.

In my experience I’ve come to find out that this occurrence does not in any way put to question the authenticity of the work Jesus actualized on that cross, He did it well and complete hence the problem is most certainly with us.

“I have finished the work you gave me to do”

  • Jesus Christ (John 17:4b)

You see I have come to believe we forget the confession we made while we gave our life to Jesus Christ. You may not have said these exact words but I believe you implied that you accepted Jesus to be your Lord and personal saviour. The irony however is from a human point view, He should save us first and then He can become Lord over us but that’s not how it goes especially not on this side of life. You see Jesus did not come into your life just to save you from your sins but to also be Lord over your life. This is in fact what guarantees your victorious Christian life. Hence if you are still calling the shots in your life then your salvation experience is not entirely complete which is essentially the reason you still have problems dealing with those sinful habits.

Look I know you love the Lord and sincerely I’m positive He loves you even more but until He is Lord in your life, He might never be able to save you from your sins once and for all and that’s why the phrase goes ‘Lord’ first and then ‘personal saviour’ (implying this is a personal deal). Have you ever wondered why we as Christians profess “I gave my life to Christ”? Well, in my own little understanding I believe that on that beautiful day we made that confession of faith we surrendered our lives, our will, our consciousness to Jesus and in exchange we got his sin-free life, His will with victory over sin and His consciousness. You see, that way we are no longer controlling the wheels of our lives because we are no longer living our lives but His. This is our only hope to living our lives totally free of sin but the problem is once in a while we want to take control of the wheel and we ignorantly steer ourselves into problems and issues that make the sacrifice of Jesus seem ineffective. If you’re wondering why Jesus would let us collect leadership from Him, well He’s such a perfect gentleman and the bible testifies

“And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.”

  • Genesis 6:3

So when we do try to Lord over our own lives even after giving our lives to Christ we seem to be saying “Hey great work bro but I would like to take over from here”. Inferentially we did give Him our lives at some point but then we took it back and then we wonder why we keep on falling back to our vomit.

You know what is so awesome about the life we live with Jesus as Lord? You see the bible makes it clear that Jesus Christ on the cross won the victory over death, hell and the grave and when we give Him our lives for His we automatically walk into that victory as well. So that we are no longer trying to not sin, we just do not sin; it’s in our nature not to so it’s no wonder the bible calls us more than conquerors.

I can write a whole lot more but I believe the problem and solution are quite obvious at this point however from experience I do know that being aware of the solution doesn’t always mean you’d do the right thing. Sometimes it’s way too difficult to say NO to your flesh and you may still find a little pleasure in those sinful habits but I assure you there’s hope. So take it from someone who has been there you can overcome this too, you can hate those things you once enjoyed, you can have total and lasting victory over sin for eternity. Jesus loves you and the truth is no matter how far you push him away, He’s always there and what’s more He already put in measures to help you through this season: The Word(John 1:1-5), The Holy Spirit (John 16:7-15) and brethren (James 5:16).

So don’t wait any longer, let Jesus be indeed Lord in your life and enjoy righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. Don’t wait too long; it might be too late then. Continue reading

Questions for the atheist…

The-Thinker

How do you do it?
When the sky is dark
And the storm is harsh
When your spirit is down
And your heart is heavy
When vicissitudes are much
And your ups are downs

How do you do it?
When the sound of music
Holds no worship
Devoid of passion
Have you ever felt it
Sobs of songs
Sobs of passion
Where do you turn to?
When you can’t go on
The odds are against you
The future looks bleak
When death strikes
And your confidant is gone

What do you hang on to?
Your eternity holds no hope
Just space
How do you do it?
Thinking you evolved
Such a pity
No gratefulness

What gives you joy?
Sighting the green trees and their lush fruits
the sea and the blue skies
the rain and the sun
And there is no omnipotence

How do you know it?
The larger than life itself
The uncertainties and mishaps
Hanging by a thread
When money can’t help
And love isn’t the answer

What do you do?
Is it worth it?
Being logical and calculative
When your burdens can be cast
And your heart can be peaceful
Be stupid and happy
Not logical and blue.
