LIVING HOPE

For years untold
Lies were paraded and sold
Exchanges made now and then
Men in power lying enslaved
Buried deep down in the wickedness’ cage

Truth walked the street
Not dressed in gold
Speaking from door to door
Disdained, ignored with tremendous loathing
Men bound yet rejecting freedom
Refusing God’s sent ones…

The burden bent men’s backs
Their bones creaking
Their glitter of hope in self fading
Their self-induced efforts yielding lime
Worn out in defeat, man remembered God
Cried out again, again and again

The Lord heard
The Lord in love sent them Moses a deliverer…
He declared to Pharoah God’s words:
“Let my people go!”
A refusal of the kingdom brought untold terrors
On him and his people
God’s power humbled the king until he could take it no more
He sent God’s chosen out in a grandstyle

Today, the oppressor laughs
Forgetting the God of yesterday, today and forevermore
“We have wounded and grounded them
Crushed and defeated followers of the Holy One,” they chant!
Yet heaven laughs at them…
For destruction, permanent and eternal, awaits the evil one
He is a mere walking dead
His fate longtime ago sealed for hell

Rejoice, oh ye saints of the Lord
Shout with triumph, you children of the Most High
For weeping may endure for a night
But surely, morning comes – bright and beautiful
For seasons change, says the Lord!

Goodnews business

Back too Back to writing
Antidifficulting
When I’m underground, that’s the Gospel Terra biting
Sing it to the youth, let them see the love of Christ. Hmmm

Sorry but the business is the good news
Sold it in media files, prayers and worn shoes

But don’t worry it’s unlimited
Jerry said
What God cannot do does not exist
What he said
What God cannot do never reared it’s head
Never was it read

Come and eat the Life
Distribute it to the poor and rich
There’ll be a delete and The Lord has an extended invite
Please write
To the churches of eyes, ears and “these days”
The “which ways” The Lord says
I won’t wait forever
And you are mine forever

So choose my safety over those with more forever than you
If I haven’t been saving you, where would your pride be or do?
Any who
Come home before you can’t cry anymore
Before the monsters after the flood begin their culling
And the firmament is rolled away
And horror robs you of your children
And your wealth
And your kin
And your neighbor
And your voice

Yatch Sub II

Bankrolled by the Most High.
Tears fall, but I don’t cry.
When I fold, peep my preach count—
Made the most of a wrong route.
On the Good News, trotting;
Human wisdom’s nothing.
What is fame when those who remember
Won’t live forever?
Far above the struggling,
So blessed, it’s humbling.
Too much shalom to be bothering—
I’m anxious for nothing.

Mmmmm.
I want my fame in my Jesus forever.
Jesus baby.
Oh yes, I’m a Jesus tata.

Some have doctors, some have pills;
We lay hands and folks get healed.
Text to Life—we do not trust news.
Our videos hunt souls, not views.
Some blame faith on the place of birth;
Well, I am born again.
Some say we all need help from the ancestors—
I kneel to a different reign.

Mmmmm.
I want my fame in my Jesus forever.
Jesus baby.
Oh yes, I’m a Jesus tata.

Even in death, I am fruitful.
I have been harboring truth, though.
I Noah above all the culture;
Even at ease, Jesus has all my attention.

The Lover’s Recipe

While everyone around the world was basking in the euphoria of the acclaimed love day (Valentine’s Day), Penspeak Community UNIZIK got busy with their pens and spent the day reliving the nostalgia of God’s love.

The floor was thrown up and Delight blew us away with this piece;

 WHOSE ORDERS?

That a tiny acorn will make a mighty forest
Wasn’t the loamy soil’s words to utter.
Dear child…I speak in voices as ancient as before.
I gave you gifts not like anyone else’s
But you chose to be photographed through distorted lenses.
You followed rules written by hands you will never shake
Then ending at crossroads, you asked me “Lord what’s your take?
Those rules were written by hand…
Funny how you are ignorant to the power embedded in yours
You obeyed the “rites” discarding the “rights”
What a perfect mismatch you are!!
You were told to silence your own voice for the sake of the loud…
The loud voice said “conform” but in your heart you felt torn.
Torn between the needs of your soul and the rule you have been sold.
Is it freedom you seek or a cage in gold?
Bound by lines drawn by a mentally distorted ruler’s ruler
They said “follow” and you never asked why
You were wheedled to be fine with “just fine”.
They raised you to be small but your heart beats loud…louder than their expectations.
Dear child…if you would… listen.
The elders might call this rebellion
But I call it my divine intention
Your dreams and desires are my design
Your handwritten lifeline, mine to sign
Your steps are earthquakes in their shallow puddles
You are to build bridges where they said walls stood
You are not a footnote in their stories.
You are the headline yet they don’t want to see your headlines.
Prior to forming you, I knew thee.
I know your deepest sleep even your purest glee
So, whose orders if not mine?

Mc Wisdom came in right after and dropped this;

GOOD FOOD

Just can’t wait until it gets to the plate
Aromas that dance, through a culinary state
Tenderly cooked, with love and with care
Each bite a story, beyond compare

The cutting, slicing, sizzling, crackling, mixing,
a continuous process that lives you wanting and yawning

Oh, the joy of good food, that brings us together
A universal love language,
The norming around the dinner table
The joy and laughter that’s uncontrollable, that transcends this weather, and leaves you warm.

A taste of nostalgia, a hint of home.
Good food that nourishes the body and soul,
Makes you forget your problem for a moment, leaving you whole.

So, here’s to the chefs, the cooks, and the bakers
The farmers, the fishermen, and the food makers
My mom, dad, siblings, friends, family
Thank you for the feast, for the flavours and the fun
Good food that brings us to the table, as one.

With the floor and curtains intact, Delight waltz in with so much inspiration and gave us;

HOSEA 2🥰

I was once yours, you were once mine.
But in the shadows, you slipped away,
Chasing after lovers who didn’t care,
Trading true love for a false comfort,
An affair with idols, a broken vow in the temple of desire.
You left me but every step you took, I felt it,
Every kiss you gave, I tasted it.
Your heart wandered, but mine stayed rooted,
Waiting, holding on,
Gripping the promise of what was.

But love is not blind– it sees the truth,
And the truth cuts deep.
So, hear me now:

I will no longer cover your shame,
I will no longer veil your mistakes, for you’ve turned your back,
And I must speak of the consequences.
The gates will close, the blessings will fade,
Your fields will wither, and your heart will ache,
As the world you built crumbles beneath your feet.
But in this silence, in this solitude,
You’ll hear my voice again and I won’t leave you there,

For even in the wilderness,
I am here, I will allure you,
I will call your name and I will take you back,
Not as a servant, but as my bride.
I’ll speak comfort to your broken heart,
Restore the years you’ve lost to wandering,
Your valley of despair will become a place of hope,
Your shame will be washed clean,
And the shame you once wore,
Will be replaced with a crown of righteousness.
I will lead you to a new covenant, A promise of peace,
Where love reigns.
Where mercy is poured like rain on dry ground,
Where my faithfulness holds you close. I will be your God,
And you will be my people,
And together, we’ll make all things new.
The name you once wore,
The name of betrayal,
Will be changed.
You will be called “My Delight,”
And I will call you “My Beloved.”

Forever,
And nothing will ever tear us apart again.

What a love! What a God! See you next month for another freestyle!

IT IS NO LONGER I…BUT CHRIST

Even though I was relegated
A high transfer fee was paid
To bring me into this new club

Christ celestial club
THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
A new heart and new spirit is given me

I love this Jersey, I love it here
The seasons are blissful forever.
Thank God it is no longer I
But Christ who purchased me.

THE WORLD’S OLDEST LIBRARY

The oldest library in the world still exists!
Somewhere on earth
Not destroyed by moths
All bricks still the same
As they were laid
No cracks or breaks
As would’ve have been
When strong winds of
The mountain form
A two-fold force with
The tricks of time.

All of its pillars seem to
Have sworn an oath
To remain forever young
With the strong posture of the
Past well seen in our
Contemporary time
No not one worn out
By age.

The oldest library in the world still exists!
It’s roofing sheets of steel
Still shiny and rust free

Well-aligned to another
With tight screws like
A rogue held captive in
Hunter’s camp.

Unmovable it is
Incredible were those men
Of which it was said
They continued the construction
Based on the ASSIGNED DESIGN

The unfinished work of
Christ they took to many
Heights while they endured
For many nights the pains
Of haters crew

A pack of sovereign Jews
Devoted to religious doings
Committed to put their
Works to a stop.

The oldest library in the world still exists!
An architectural design
Housing 66 hefty books
In both shelves
Old shelves with uncracked
Scrolls waiting for someone
To stroll in
Take a walk and have a
Good read.

The oldest library in the world still exists!
Not in the woods
Or some interior zones
Oblivious to all.

Change

I like people and how they change, It reminds me of home. Of how one person won’t make it to Christmas next year, and forever. How this might be the last time I’ll tell aunty Chinenye that she’s my favorite. That her hair is beautiful and her smile is radiant. That being the only person in the family with dimples must mean that she was special. That I’ll come for holidays when she got married. That I love her. Before I run away with the plate of corn and _úbé_ she roasted for me to show my mummy.

New people remind me of old people. Of the promises of forever that lasted till worth became what my worth was never. “See finish” is myopic. It assumes that who I met today is better than someone I’ve known for many years. Forgive me for being old fashioned but I believe that the years matter. If our bubble lasts a year, then we have beaten time and seasons that I’ll cherish again and again. Because while people change, you’ve changed and I’ve changed, but somehow we haven’t changed enough to no longer feel the other is less their worth. I have a habit of remembrance. Of beginnings.

I like taking strolls. A slow walk down memory lanes. I like seeing how first hello and hi morphed into not being able to do without. I like change. It has never scared me. That’s why I am never afraid of death. How people leave without a word’s notice. How they change. From being there to being mute. How someone who would kill if you shed a tear will lie there and sleep through your million wails. Tears changes people. Maybe the saline fluid washes a part of ourselves with it when it falls. When we clean it, we don’t just clean it. We erase something too. A trust, a love, a care, a joy, a part of us.

People change but I don’t blame them. I’ve heard people say the stories of their journeys. It’s why I want to make movies. So many untold stories. We judge too hastily for people with the ability to cry so much. And we hold grudges for people that fall short so much. I never got to visit aunty Chinenye because she never got married. Mummy will never see my wife, daddy too, with his funny mustache and remarks. Aunty Faustina will not make good on her threat to tell the woman that I’m stubborn on my wedding day. They all changed. Just like people do. They fell like flowers plucked from life’s petal, to wither on dusty earth. So go ahead dear, change all you want, I’m used to it.

The Lord’s Prayer

My Father who art in heaven

Heaven your abode

Hallowed be thy name

Name above every other

Thine kingdom come

Kingdom of righteousness, justice and peace

Thine will be done on earth

Earth -my nation, my sphere, my life

As it in heaven

Heaven on earth I long to know

Give us this day our daily bread

For bread is now am expensive food

And forgive us our trespasses

Trespasses of japa- ing from your instructions

As we forgive those who trespass against us

By your grace we can

Lead us not into temptation

Temptations of compromise from your will

But deliver us from evil

Evil that lurks around within us

For thine is the kingdom

This very Kingdom

The power and the glory

Glory to reign and rule

Forever and ever

Ever till eternity

Amen!
