Hey there, my name is Favour Omeje and I write.
I have known the joys of writing especially wielding my pen to summon words together to tell the love story of ‘the Word’=Christ.
Writing has been to me like lending readers shoes to walk back and forth time to experience what good things, I have experienced in Christ; simply put, writing has become like a kiss and tell story.
Soon enough, I got signed up to the Christ A Poet team where I was given a loud voice to express my Christian experience. It was there that I took a dip in excellence and team spirit. Christ A Poet Team provided different platforms for people like me who love to read and write to gain writing prowess while telling the Lord’s story in diverse translations. One of such platforms is the Freestyle Friday.
Freestyle Friday is boundless needless to say.
This is how we do it:
We gather virtually on our social media platforms where a theme is dished out; then we all do justice to it using the different forms of literature available to man.
This time, we want you to share in the experience that we have enjoyed exclusively as team mates for years and you don’t have to be committed to us to enjoy this.

Hello there,
Godswill here! In the short time I have been exposed to writing I have been blessed to see the tremendous effect words have on who we are and the lives we lead. As a team we have sought to carefully and painstakingly create edifying content that speak of God’s love and his saving grace that never fails.
However, sometimes we cant deny that we just want to write! Scale the hurdles of editing and trying to make the lines rhyme. We just want to pour our heart in the simplest version we can come up with within a matter of minutes. For this cause, FREESTYLE FRIDAY was created and we have enjoyed this fellowship for years every Friday.
This time we would love to share this experience with you!

It is real simple, on the 28th of July starting 12AM (GMT+1) we will be freestyling with all forms of literature available on a topic that would be released that morning or afternoon or evening (Depending on your time zone). All you need do is search on Facebook for the closed group “Freestyle Friday” with the icon having the Christapoet logo and request entry.
It is sure to be fun. It is sure to bless lives and take this from me, our Freestyle Fridays have been known to cure writer’s block.

There are so many ways to tell this story, but looking back now, I am so glad I lived it.
When a man meets a good idea, he knows he is set for a world of benefits but when a man meets a God idea, he knows, it will only take God to accomplish it. Penspeak was borne for the writer and his audience, a time to experience the sweet romance between words and the message they carry, between the dexterity of the pen and the Spirit from which it flows. It is a time envisioned to cause a definite change to birth something new or revive what is dying; One stage, One mic, One Spirit and for those glorious hours, nothing else matters but the truth and it sure does set one free.
Every year it has been a blessing to the team and the audience of Nsukka to see what God can do with what an untrained mind would call “mere words”, yet again in less than a month we are yet to experience much more, inexplicably more what God is set to wrought through this massive vision. To say in specific words what one could expect is to belittle the awe, God is preparing for the expectant heart, so I am going to just say this…
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for details
Cause they are coming…
And when they do, be kind enough to tell a friend, any friend
Because one thing is certain
There is no way any one would leave that hall without a specific blessing

Its boundaries same to all yet varying in displacements
The universal factor condensing in its form
For a wary student in class, very slow
For a lad asleep on the hay, too fast
A realign of composure ordering man’s events into play
For the hawker, an endless trek of shouts, sweat and pain
Hoping at sun down, the pain would be repaid in gain
Each hour counting, history’s witness, penning issues deemed fit
Its entity relies on no stance
It regards no opinions for it is set like the rising of the sun even the seasons to reap or sow
It determines what tides are turned; and authority in itself
It shows no favours
Accomplishments are noted as a virtue of wisely turning time
Wasted nights, unclaimed prizes, a teary eye, stiffed pride
Daunting reminders of wages gotten from cheating time
Regardless of wishes, time once passed could never be reborn
It would be as futile as pushing back a shot bullet to cock a gun
Each minute a precious gift given to treasure
A mighty feat will be managing time to reap its bliss
Time misused could replicate thousands of skies heavy with fountains of regret
Pouring down with no shade to hide from the effects of being drenched in sorrow
When tomorrow hits the band-wagon of yesterdays
It is claimed time as way-laid by misfortunes of mistakes
The future duped by procrastination’s mob raping the essence of today’s success
A probable result of yesterday’s indulgence.
In this month of July we will be celebrating Christ for all He has done for us and through us.
