WWF-WHEN THIS TEST WORLD IS OVER!

It will definitely be easier to start from the beginning, but not just as we know it. So permit me to call this, The beginning of beginnings.

There was God, who is I Am That I Am, without past nor future. He is always in the now. He is not controlled by time. He controls time rather, because He created time (Genesis 1:14). Now our God does not like loneliness at all just as we see in Adams’ story, so God decided to get Himself a family. One He could trust and love, knowing fully well that the feeling was truly mutual and in a bid to achieve this He decided to create two worlds.

The First world was going to be the “TEST” world, where He would give absolutely all of His creation free will and a limited revelation of who He really is, so as to know for certain those that will love Him fully in view of the world to come. Out of free will, Satan chose evil and got one-third of the angels in heaven to join him. Out of free will, Balaam’s donkey refused to move so as to save the life of his master and many more examples are recorded in the bible that point to the truth that everything that exists in this world both in the spiritual and physical realms all possess free will especially the man created in the image of God. EVERYDAY JESUS

Only under real pressure would you really identify the contents of a man’s character

On Monday this week, I for some reasons, could not make it to work as early as I should and then my mum asked me to help her re-park her Sienna Car. You need to know I am not an expert driver, however, whenever it came to parking a car I certainly had very little issues (and I am not bragging!) Anyways on this fateful morning, I obliged to go park the car, my mind set on finally nailing the parallel parking concept without having someone direct me from outside the car.

At first, I drove down to the spot mum needed the car at and parked well but as I stepped down to score my work I noticed though I had improved considerably in the control of the vehicle, I still didn’t park parallel to the kerb. So I decided to correct my mistake.

As I started the ignition, everything seemed fine up until I put the car in gear and proceeded to move a bit forward then, the film show started. I tried to turn the wheel and it wouldn’t budge then I sensed there must be a problem so I went for the brakes immediately. Alas, the brakes were useless then I reasoned I could set the car to the parking gear (the car uses an automatic gear system) and still that didn’t work since the car was on a slope.

So here was I, in a moving car with no stops, a huge gate right before me, an intersecting road just after that gate and absolutely no idea as to what to do as I was only seconds away from impact with the huge black gate. For some weird reason, I was not scared. Rather, I was angry because all I could think of was how no one would understand how helpless I was at that moment and probably judge me and my inability to drive. I guess I didn’t realize the mortal danger I was in at the moment. So it was quite a quiet moment for me, there was no Jesus! Jesus! shouting, I just sat there.

Sure enough, within seconds the car pushed through this massive gate, kept on moving to the intersecting road and crossed to the other side where it was stopped by a pile of sand heaped at the side of the road.

I was safe.

No casualties.

A frantic woman that had watched it all came and commanded me out of the car. She scolded me because I was not thankful to God for the obvious miracle He had just done. I stepped out of the car and looked around. Only a few people had noticed what had gone down and miraculously the car had only sustained a little scratch. Also, the intersecting road which I crossed to get to my stopping point was one that stayed busy all week especially with children playing around or motorcycles just hanging yet on this Monday the street was empty which I must say is just amazing. I wonder what hurt could have been caused had the situation of that street been otherwise.

Moments later, it was found out that the brake pads were damaged and the brake oil had run out and it dawned on me. I had no chance against this situation yet God saved me. I did not call out to Him at the spur of the moment, yet He saved me. I may have not been in that situation at all if I had left earlier for work but then how would my dear mum deal with such a brake system while running at 100km/hour on a four-lane highway? That is not pretty.

Two things I learnt from this. I have obviously not gotten the name of Jesus into my head yet because instead of getting angry on a failing vehicle I should have run for refuge in the name that is above all names, Jesus. Secondly and most importantly, I further know how good my God is in planning out a strategy.

God does care!

EVERYDAY JESUS

IMG-20140327-WA000.png
T’was a cool night sometime towards the end of the year 2013 when I received the WhatsApp message that I was going to spend an extra year in school because I had failed a course!

Now many people may beg to differ but I still think that is the worst way to give bad news to almost anyone. As I read the message on my phone, I could feel the blood rush to my head. I sincerely didn’t want to believe it but it had to be true because my dear friend who sent me the message knew very well how important my final results were to me and definitely wouldn’t make light of the issue. For the first time since I could remember, I had the sudden need for some really cold, fresh air. I thought I would cry, Continue reading

HAPPY NEW CATEGORY!

569353646580483103_1370400909

After we explored the idea of the weeklies category, the response was quite encouraging even though maintaining it at first was quite a hassle. However, this year we want to challenge ourselves even further by opening up (drumroll please!) the DAILIES category.

Here is a section with a set theme that will be producing amazing pieces on a daily basis. This means, apart from the poems, articles, quotes we post everyday you still get at least a post under this section every single day.

First under this category is the Everyday Jesus segment. You would want to follow this. This includes testimonies of day-to-day activities and how the testimony of Jesus gets us through. Get ready to learn and be amazed.

Also coming up also on this segment is our story series. You should watch out for this and so much more…

Have a great day!

GREATER WORKS THAN THESE!

Greater works than these

Greater works than these

Hello!

On behalf of the Christ a Poet team, I am so glad to welcome us all to a beautiful year even though by midnight today, we would have spent a dozen days of this supposed New Year. Nevertheless, the year is 2015 and we are in it, testimony to God’s faithfulness. Praise the Lord!

One thing amongst many that makes me really glad about the year 2015 is the prophecies and promises it’s loaded with. I have been opportune to hear many seasoned preachers of the gospel prophecy under God’s Spirit to the potential this year is seemingly loaded with; breakthroughs, blessings, increase, heaven on earth and even more. I certainly feel this year, God is set to give us His best yet and I just can’t wait!

However, in the hype of the season God has not left us out and He gave us too a word for the year Continue reading

Take 5!

So I’m guessing when the stern-faced coaches say this in the cool movies, they actually mean Take A Break! maybe for at least 5 minutes.

Having said that I’m going to make quite a wild suggestion.

At every point in our life we all individually and most consciously need to take 5

Note: I ain’t just talking about taking a breather. I mean sitting down and resting (I don’t mean sleeping) having shut off all external communication and just muse.

You know we all get our fair share of twenty-four hours and yes we do try consciously or otherwise to choke it up and use the most of it but unfortunately, we forget the simple law of diminishing returns still applies to our bodies too. Its funny but this is just one of many reasons why you should make taking 5 a ritual. You may assume you’re doing fine and you can still do more. Even though I agree with you and I admire your enthusiasm and hardwork please heed this little piece of advice because you just might have a breakdown that’ll force you to take 5 or worse you would work hard, get meager results and wonder why. QUICK QUOTEs

The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say,
“O God, forgive me” or “Help me.”
