POWER IN THE SPOKEN WORD

….And God said “Let there be…” and there was.

Amazing isn’t it? The idea of mind over matter, how thoughts and words can become material things. Its rather unfortunate that people pick their most faithless moments to try and materialize a spoon by saying ‘let a spoon appear right now in my hand!’ (Hahaha)its funny right? But it is very true that for words to give life, your mind must be in total agreement with what you say. Don’t think its impossible because it happens every single day. Remember when the words ‘I hate you’ or ‘You are worthless’ made you cry and actually consider the fact that maybe, just maybe you did not amount to anything and that week you ended up doing the most stupid things until you caught yourself and changed your view? Well that’s exactly what I mean. Its a chain reaction, a build up of emotion, an execution of words that changed your point of view, a combination of fragments that summed up into a force so influential, a force called… Power.

“Words Are Powerful”

You know no one can really point out who made that statement first, trust me the irony of the truth in those words is capable of striking a chord every time they are spoken, especially when I remember the fact that the phrase is in itself the most powerful statement anyone has ever thought to say.

Thoughts can make or kill a man but words would do either faster. Its common for people to talk without making an effortless effort to listen. Its difficult for people who know so much and have so much to offer, to be quiet and allow someone they least expect, offer them something small that could change their previous perspective of life or simply just improve it. Its amazing how the words someone said could trigger certain emotions in another person.
“You Just won the Lottery!”, don’t deny it you were actually excited till you realized that this was just part of the piece.(Haha!)

If letters were soldiers then words would be an army and their content, ammunition. The more relevant the content, the higher the possibility of winning a battle of words and making positive impact and possible influence on a persons life. Yes! A persons life, because people need to understand that change comes by first getting a person to buy into your vision, ‘ its the first block that builds the mansion’ need I say more.

“All we need is peace”. Words that ensured that Nelson Mandela’s Legacy never coughs as long as the earth remains in existence. The words we say matter a lot, the words we say shape, make, mould, build, break, destroy, condemn, uplift and downcast. We are most powerful when we speak. It is very essential that we bridle our tongue, people who have a plan and a focus talk with wisdom because they understand that words are seeds today and trees tomorrow. A wise man once said “Man is a speaking spirit”. We all must be clear on the fact that actions speak louder than voice… Not words… But the most powerful words are backed up by actions. It would be mindless and very empty to say ‘I love You’ and leave someone in need to suffer. Words bring out the contents of our heart… It is words that tell people who we really are!

You don’t just say nasty things to people because you can, or for the sake of having a tongue, words can be as sweet as honey and also as venomous as poison. Its really amazing yet strange to know that all men carry the power of creation and destruction in their mouth. To Speak is to make happen. “Until all men are free, we are all slaves”… Wise words of a mother that drove her son many years later to fight for freedom and equality of all people in America if that didn’t ring a bell then probably the Emancipation Proclamation would. It is very important that we mind what we say, because indeed if we stop and think then we would not speak like persons who did not see a need for simple reasoning in the first place.

I may not understand the bible you see
Yes it may seem so difficult to me
With all the thou(s) and thee(s) KJV please
The message seems to elude me
But this one thing I’ve come to see
That on a day such as this
A man died for my sins
Though not guilty he died still
He shed his blood to make me clean
Yes I know that and believe

I may not get why He died on the cross
Why He would give His life and His all
To love man that had Him slandered and slain
I don’t get why He would leave His highly exalted throne
To attend unto a generation of sinners than saints
I know I could never bear such rejection
Nor could I take as much pain
I would never figure out the extent of His sacrifice
But this one thing I’m sure I know
It’s that one big sacrifice that made me whole

I may not figure out the words
Or the depths of mysteries it holds
I may not memorize every chapter whole
But this one thing I’ve come to know
There is one Holy and True
The MOST HIGH GOD so faithful
Who unconditionally cares and loves
Ever renewing mercy he shows
And mending grace he bestows
On children to whom He’s Savior and Lord

I know they don’t really get it
The reason why I strongly believe
In a story so old in a blood they don’t see
You see, the truth is this
I don’t really expect them to
Cos I never got it too
Till I met at a point in my life
The man that changed my story line
He in fact was HE who died for loves sake
And now stands the only way, truth and life

Okay you might wonder like I’d always do
What then can end this whole matter?
Simple! Fear God, do all that He says
That’s the conclusion of the whole matter
Well you may think it can’t be
It can’t be that easy, as plain as you say
But the truth remains
The Lord knoweth them that are His
Let everyone who is called after Him
Depart from iniquity

what is yOuR NAME?

“What is your name?”
“You mean… my name?”

I could close my eyes in a quick drift in to my spirit to give you an answer….

My name is who I am!
It is not merely a form of identification;
No! It is an embodiment of my whole being
It does not only describe my features
It gives you a description of my origin.
It does not just qualify me as a creature
It introduces you to my creator.
It does not just say I am human
It gives you my meaning.

It is not just about a phase of my life
It is the whole book of my life, as it is written of me.
It is not just about my past, present of future
It is about them three
It is not just, what I can become
It is what I am.
My name is I and I am my name!
You can see it in my eyes…

Just like scientists and their laws
My name and my creator are connected.
I am his product and bear his trademark.
My name is the declaration for the delectation of my creator.
My name is the bedrock of the loss of me…
Remember that I am still thinking of the right answer to your question.
So next time, ask me of my birth name instead of MY NAME.
My birth name could just be a word, but my NAME is something more.

“I am the child of the only living God who created heaven and earth, and who lives forever more.”

Now, that is my name.

fRoM the FALL…

Why must I continue like this?
When He’s actually saved me like He promised
Cos I won’t just say no to my sinful needs
So the victory He won me
Makes no real difference
Cos with every passing day I abuse his presence
Loose His essence and continually descend
Cos I won’t condescend to say no to my flesh

Of course if I pray He would forgive me
But will I forever continue like this?
Will my story be falling and rising in brief
And will His mercy forever speak for me?
So here’s what I’m gonna do
I’m not gonna just confess my sins like I do
But I’m gonna rededicate my life too
And I’m gonna ask for help, YES, help from you Lord
To say no; No to my sinful needs

Although I can’t seem to stop myself
Truth is, I love you Lord. I really do
True to my human nature I love with reasons though too numerous to mention
But you, you just keep on loving me
Without any worthy reason or condition
And yet I am very confident of the fact that no matter the ups and downs
You’ll never let me down

Without you I am an empty vessel a sounding cymbal
Without you I am sure to lose my way again
Without you I am proven guilty, a perpetual slave to my flesh’s demand
Without you I cant say no to my sinful needs
But no matter how resolute I claim to be
I am sure to fail condemned to my final end, death
So here’s what I’m gonna do, I will trust and obey
And together with you Lord
Make this decision to say no
Cos without you I am nothing

THE WOMAN QUESTION

BOOK REVIEW by Njoku Uchechi

TITLE: THE WOMAN QUESTION
AUTHOR: KENNETH E. HAGIN
YEAR OF PUBLICATION: 1983
NUMBER OF PAGES: 66
CHAPTERS: 7

In the church and even in the world at large, we have been faced with so many questions about certain seemingly unclear principles in the scriptures that have adversely affected our churches and our perspectives in judging some issues. Questions like….
Is the man the head of the woman?
Must wives always obey their husbands?
Must women keep silent in churches?
Must women have their heads covered? Etc
In whole Christian denominations, women have been forbidden to teach, preach, or even to testify or offer audible prayer in church, based on these Scriptures. Many conservative denominations allow the women to take only a small role.

In this book, Kenneth E. Hagin deals with the questions bothering women and their faith. it will surely answer most of your questions about head coverings, women in ministry, marital relationships and female dressing. Also, he outlined that a man can only be the head of one woman- his wife, not all women.

I would advice that you get this book because it would get your heart right, help your ministry and get you more focused with God. One other advice is for you to leave it if you do not have the sweet Holy Spirit dwelling right inside of you, because it would actually do you more harm than good. In other words, get Jesus, and then get this book, God bless you.

WHaT is LOVE?

Most of us would say that you love someone when their happiness is very important to you, so that you behave in a kind and caring way towards them Or you feel romantically or sexually attracted to them, and they are very important to you.
But what really is love?
God is love. And love is God’s unconditional positive regard towards us. According to John 3:16. God had great love for the inhabitants of the world (humans) that he gave his only son for all our sins to be washed away, that we might not perish but have everlasting life. And this can only happen if we believe in him.
The love of God brings everlasting life and this everlasting life is abundant for every single person that exist on earth. You were created to worship God. He loves you.
When you go within, you know that your core (your very being) is made fully of love. This is God’s love. So pure and genuine. And all we can do is share that love with ourselves and others.
The bible says in the book of John 15:9-14 that the same way God the Father loves us, is the same way that Jesus loves us and he wants us to continue in this love by keeping his commandments and abiding in his love. In doing this, the joy of the Lord would remain in you and your joy would be full.
This is the commandment Jesus gave before leaving earth, that we should love one another as he loved us. There’s no greater love that a man can have than to lay down he’s own life for his friends. And he ends it by saying that we are only his friends if we do whatsoever he commands us to.
What kind of love do you have for your friends? Do you know Jesus and have you told your friends about him? Do so today and you will see a great transformation in you life.

TWO KINDS OF RIGHTEOUSNESSby E. W. Kenyon

BOOK REVIEW by Nwazuluoke Ifeanyi
TITLE: TWO KINDS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
AUTHOR: E. W. KENYON
PUBLISHERS: KENYON’S GOSPEL PUBLISHING SOCIETY
YEAR OF PUBLICATION: 1999
NUMBER OF PAGES: 80
CHAPTERS: 20
The thought of being privileged to be able to reach a higher number of people and explain to them the riches exposed in this book by E. W. Kenyon is in itself an exciting idea.
E. W. Kenyon is known for deep revelations and things that first and foremost challenge your Christian faith. However, it is not a book filled with uncertainties but a book filled with a truth that has revolutionized my Christian faith.
Righteousness, he defines as the ability to stand before God or in his presence without a sense of guilt condemnation or inferiority. It is also the ability to stand before the devil as a master over all his works.
The most endearing thing about this book to me is that it opens up to me what Christ did for me not just a vague recollection of the Son of God on the cross, but it opens up the heart of God and shows that God’s main aim for creating man and also redeeming him is to have fellowship, and if redemption could not bring a Man (born again man of course) before the Father’s presence without that man feeling guilty and inferior or condemned, then redemption failed!
“We are not servants. We are not sinners. We are sons” (p. 19)
This in itself is in fact the most important message ever offered to the church. Kenyon uses the pages of this book to challenge some age-old doctrines that have held the church from progressing as was promised Peter by our Lord Jesus Christ. He also goes ahead to open the reader’s eyes to new revelations, understanding and working principles.
“No man who has received Eternal Life and given his spirit an opportunity to develop by feeding on the Word can ever challenge his standing with the Father. Never again will he shrink under that sin teaching of the modern pulpit and look upon himself as a failure and sin-ruled. He is a master. He has as much right in the before the throne of grace as Jesus has upon it. He has much right in the Father’s presence as the Father has a right to sit upon the throne. Why? Because the Father Himself planned the redemption and wrought the Redemption through His Son, and sets His Seal upon that Redemptive work by making the believer in Jesus Christ Righteous with His own Righteousness.” (p.34)
His compelling and authoritative yet simplistic style of writing clearly depicts a divine source of inspiration and a universal audience with as simple a tool as a book.
If I were to keep writing, tears might come to my eyes because this is a book I cherish so much. It has unfolded the riches of His grace to me; I AM the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I can finally say with all boldness that I love God, because if He loved me to allow me stand before him without any sense of guilt, so that love can finally grow.
I recommend this to any Christian who intends to do any mighty thing for His King!

THE 23rd PSALM

This is an eye opener; some probably never thought nor looked at this Psalm in this way, even though they say it over and over again.

The Lord is my Shepherd
That’s Relationship!

I shall not want
That’s Supply!

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures
That’s Rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters
That’s Refreshment!

He restoreth my soul
That’s Healing!

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
That’s Guidance!

For His name sake
That’s Purpose!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
That’s Testing!

I will fear no evil
That’s Protection!

For Thou art with me
That’s Faithfulness!

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me
That’s Discipline!

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies
That’s Hope!

Thou annointest my head with oil
That’s Consecration!

My cup runneth over
That’s Abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
That’s Blessing!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
That’s Security!

Forever
That’s Eternity!

Face it, the Lord is crazy about you.
A good morning to you!
