The Stories, Their Study

Story says,
I was born as a golden boy,
In coal city
To ordinary lovers.

Story says,
My flaws outnumbers my character.
Still, great stories forces me up,
Pushes me to the brink and beyond.

Story says,
Many will not make the peak
Unless,  the stories, their study
Becomes light or spirit.

God’s Positivity

Hello Friends!

How are we doing? I hope the month of love has met you well?

First off, I want to use this opportunity to remind you whose you are, and whose love has saved you. You were worth dying for, if you have nothing else to celebrate today, celebrate this truth.

Now without further ado, I’d like to take you on another Freestyle Friday journey. My name is Miracle, and as always privilege to serve you today.

Our last Freestyle Friday took place on the 10th of February, 2023, and our host was the talented Niel Quchi. It’s theme? God’s Positivity.

Ebubechi opened the floor at about 12:06pm with this absolutely vibrant and uplifting piece;

God is positivity personified
Ask mother nature and she would you
Tell the man saw null and void
But he called forth shape to
Take the full space.

Full of glory and power
His spirit hovered on
The surface of the deep
He took a leap of faith
Then screamed let
There be light.

God’s not a mediocre
That’s why the igbo’s
Call him AKA’NEMEMMA
Yes his the hand that
Beautifies.

His words are fireful
Swift to execute
If you haven’t seen
Nothing go back to
Genesis and from
There grab the REVELATION
Of what was said and

He looked at all he has
Made and confirmed they
Were good.

For all he made
He has made for his own
Pleasure
God is positivity personified
Ask mother nature and
She would you tell the
Man NO DEY FEAR!!!!

And who is he that the sea and storms
Obey?

At a single command he called forth things that were not and they
Came to be

Hold thou forth O mighty comrade!!!
For thy God is FEARLESS
He didn’t need to take a gulp of FEARLESS though that’s why the Igbo’s call him Odum’egbojudah
Yes he’s the lion of
Judah’s tribe

God is positivity personified ask mother nature and she would you tell he’s everything.

Now if you’ve taken a little tour of your own around here, you wouldn’t be a stranger to Ebube’s words, and boy do they always pack a punch?!

Next up we had the Uc Truth one of our OG’s spewing truth as always;

God is positive

I love it when atheists boast

When their spec of an opinion is viewed through error prescribed glasses to magnify its importance in existence.

So there is no God because you said it?

I guess Mark will seize to exist if the blue app could raise a voice too

John taught us of life
And it is way more than being able to breathe in
So all your “strike me down if you really are God” doesn’t even move the great I Am
He’s busy listening to hymns sung in Glee from hearts of strings struck in awe of Messiah.
The ability to wash sin forever.

You are yam with skin that could be peeled any time if he pleased

So to think that any time you have here is long enough to spite enough to damage a lot from the one who literally would have to strip himself of all he is in order to stoop low enough to exist in time, is foolish

Solomon caught a glimpse and you know what he said I’m sure you recite it in your circles.

Your lack of faith doesn’t equal a lack of Him
That’s bad math
Sponsored by meth
You probably thought you could deal yourself drug enough to test positive to sense
But all you can muster is another paper lit
moss is growing on you
And if you keep rolling like this you’ll end up in an eternity
Where the joke is on you

For as long as you walk this Earth through a design he perfected, birth.
The litmus stayed purple
So regardless of your negativity
Your every wake is God’s positivity
He’s passing the test of love with every gravity that keeps you from floating
You can keep boasting
Just remember,
His Exist-positive is you.

Phew! Talk about words packing a punch.
Then we had our brilliant Tolu (The Alchemist) come with a beautiful addition;

God’s positivity shines like the sun,
Brighter and warmer than anything.
A light that dispels all fear and sorrow,
And brings hope to our suffering.

In every moment, both great and small,
His love and kindness do abound.
For He is the source of all goodness,
And His mercy knows no bounds.

His positivity spreads like wildfire,
Igniting hearts and lifting souls.
For when we bask in its warm glo,
All negativity takes flight and goes.

In God’s positivity we find peace,
And the strength to face each day.
For He walks beside us every step,
And guides us all the way.

So let us bask in God’s light always,
And bask in its radiant gleam.
For with each step we take towards it,
We find positivity’s fulfilling dream.

And then we had Niel at 02:26pm WAT with this piece;

All things are possible
And all the things that we imagine might all be true
It still don’t make the Word less by a decimal
So spread the word from Ukraine to Senegal

I love to meet the agnostics and the shrugs they give,
Atheists bore me, their stance is sehr lazy
Satan makes suggestions both to them and me
But I dey follow Holy Spirit like vis-a-vis
I belittle no opinions in all topics
I just saw a kid tiktok Christ boldly
God must have known it was meant to be
But to trust another Adam? Positivity!

It’s giving Encore! And a couple people did ask, so Niel obliged us with this beautiful chaser;

God’s faith is a very good example
Understanding how he hopes has got me storm-bending
To trust in beings so stupid and simple
If God wasn’t positive, man would be in trouble

One man came across worlds
Stepped down from the Lord God
Two humans in the midst of
Was it duty or just love?

Family Three took a new turn
Four groups praise the new born
Five loaves later and a couple of fishes
Life in abundance is what he six to establish
Seven man to save him, love will slowly win the rubbish

We eight the bread of life, and it’s fruity when I do shit
Nein, Ich bin zufrieden und glücklich
Joy of the Lord, and my one is quite the strong 10
No dey do me strong thing

If no be God, all the numbers for dey miss calls
Abba answers from inside me like an echo

Phew! And with that we come to the end of this Freestyle Friday Recap. Thank you so much for doing this with me. Don’t forget to show love to someone random today. Be the light you want to see!

Bless up!

My Shepherd

It’s in His nature to provide for me even when I don’t know what I want.

He feeds me with goodness and floods peace to my soul.

By His name, He restores me to sight each time I lag.

Even though I walk through hot coals with bare feet unending, He swallows up my fears in comfort with healing and gifts in His bosom.

He sets me up for royal treats in the darkest storms and redeems me with the outpour of his spirit and an overdose of merriness and joy.

Surely goodness and mercy follow me forever as I am now a host of His eternal spirit and life.

As the years draw nigh

With love shining in many forms

Like a rose among the thorns

I have come to understand and believe that everything written in the 23rd Psalm seized to be my responsibility the day I said YES to Him, my good Shepherd.

This is War

Battles to be fought

Wars to be won

Knees on the ground

Prayers to the son

Girding on my whole armour

Helmet wrapped in salvation

Shield engraved in faith

Sword spilling fiery words

Shoes dipped in the power of the Spirit

Going in this might

Losing not to naysayers

Victory is mine

For the battle is the Lord’s

Feet deeply rooted

In the finished work of the cross

Seated in heavenly places

To watch a war already won

I fight not with fear or dread

I fight for the greater is in me

I fight ‘cos it’s a good fight

I fight to take what had been mine

I fight to possess what I had been given

I fight ‘cos I had won

I am more than conqueror so I fight!

Regeneration on Women’s Day

Hello, My name is Niel and these are the ChristaPoet Freestyle Sessions. This year, ChristaPoet wants to give you a special perspective to our freestyles. At first, some of these poems were published as stand-alone pieces. But in actuality, each poem is an untitled part of a freestyle session. Each freestyle session is given a topic for the poems to address.

I had told you in the first part of this piece, that these poets wrote 18 poems on this day, 25th February 2022. I want to do a sort of back and forth with the period that I draw pieces from. This time, I am continuing my account of a more recent time.

The topic is Regeneration.

And I bring you Zoe Ziva, writing at 10:33am, on the 25th of February:

That same Spirit that raised up Christ from the dead, heal your mum and heal my pastors wife too.

Vitalizing, regenerating, nothing broken, nothing missing.

Cardiac arrested, arrested the evil one, our prayers will not cease, this peace will not rest in this, for she will see the light of day on earth, stand on her two feet, her memory will reboot, amnesia would not be a name.

Your mum’s eyes will regenerate, God’s healing balm still has Gilead on it, now it resides in our heart.

Our faith will rise, our hands lifted, we do not forsake our own mercies, we choose to trust in The King rather than observe Lying vanities.

Since I’ve been younger till now that I’m grown, I’ve always seen that faith always wins.
Even in our time, this testimony would be so.

Rejoice.

And at 11:05 AM, the Elegant and Elusive Imani Dokubo:

I join you in prayers
I agree with you in faith
Her sight is restored
Her healing permanent

She sees clearly
The goodness and mercy of our God never runs out on her

We rejoice not in the future but now, for the end we have seen clearly.

Again, let me paint the context. So, one of us, Ade, had just written a freestyle spurt in which he indicated that his mother had just undergone surgery. We all subsequently dove into praying for her through our poetry…very touching stuff.

At 11:08 AM, Aebube with the kiss kiss emojis, wrote:

Just a turned ignition and boom
Men set off in tripedation

It’s not a holy feeling, the jitters are killing slowly
It made me sorrow only

Tell me I’m going to heal really quick from this fear and trepidation, this isn’t some perdition
right?

Of course it isn’t
For Christ paid the ultimate price so I’m forever freed from its shackles

My life is not on hold I’ve been unshackled from the chains of fear, the word alone regenerates me

For he has not given me the spirit of fear but of sound mind and power

Who I’m to agitate about tomorrow’s out come when Yahweh is there

He is the way, the truth and the life, for him alone I mount with wings like an eagle yet do not faint

My strength renewed, no cent used.

She posted that, and after a few minutes, at 11:50 AM, she continued:

They tried to bury me
Not ones
Not twice
For the third time I’m being covered with earth

Fascinating right?
So much they didn’t know
Ohhhh men carefully calculate

With vigour they plan our undoing yet
Ignorance deprive them of their sight

They can’t see right
Though all calculations seemed just perfect

They buried themselves and thought they’re done for, here we’re spouting a leave

With our lips pouted in mockery
They’re left in awe
Our God’s way smarter

We’re his seed buried to regenerate
Just like him we rise
Again and again we’re crowned with Victory to stay above and not beneath.

And then, my darling MeerahZoe, wrote this at 11:53 AM:

What’s more beautiful than a birth?
A rebirth.
The beautiful promise of a second chance
A do over when you’re done over

Twice I’ve lain in the fetal position
The first time oblivious to my existence
The second time wanting to end it

See pain is selfish, you only feel it when you’re self focused.
The man who invented diversional therapy would be out of business otherwise.

Twice I’ve lain in the fetal position
The first time oblivious to my Father’s company
The second time too self-seeing to see Him

It’s easier to ask for a break and a do over,
Blaming the God who supposedly didn’t give it
Than it is to see that the new life He gave you is all the practice you need to be reborn

But pain is selfish, and I would rather reject His comfort than put in the work.
Our faith walk however is sometimes like school, you don’t get past any stage without doing the work.

Standing on my feet again, I hope the sight of the ground from this angle is enough to remind me the next time
That a righteous man can fall seventy times
And rise up seventy times.

Today’s article has consisted strictly of women. I did not really plan that it should be so, but so it has come to pass. Today also happens to International Women’s Day. It makes me wonder, is there a local women’s day?

We hail the woman; for her tenacity, patience, kindness, beauty and industry.

Happy International Women’s Day

Jesus

He, the first born of the spirit was born in a manger
Raised with his people yet considered stranger
Jesus in God’s sight, is considered all that is right

He took whiplashes
That healing be given in all places, races and classes
He at Galilee’s road
Was broken that we be made whole
That we be saved souls
For our salvation was always his main goal.

Jesus was bartered bruised and crushed
All while led to an old rugged cross
To have nails impale his body
That we may become his body
And at the 9th hour, when hope had diminished
He declared it is finished.

For three days , he launched a one man raid.
Defeating devil, demons and death in a perpetual victory parade
And at the third day when he was raised
The power of death was as empty as his grave.

Book Review: The Shepherd, The Overseer, and The Soul

Author: Funmi Adebayo
Pages: 150
Publisher: The Christ A Poet Concepts, Nigeria.
Reviewer: Adeleye Olaoye, Ubamara Ezenobi, Zoe Ziva, Ebubechi, Clement Victor

Funmi Adebayo, the author of this book, gives us this gem of a book through the light of the Spirit of God penetrating into 1 Peter 2:25 and Ezekiel 18:4. The Shepherd, Overseer and the Soul is a book aimed at building foundational knowledge on the role that the soul of a man plays in the life of a believer. The Author has broken this book down into 7 Chapters to help relate his message.

The author started by making clear that the human soul is eternal. It cannot be dissolved by death, unlike the human physical body. The soul is the representation of a man in the spirit realm. Therefore, what becomes of the soul of man is the reality of that man

He then further compared the mind as a signal analyzer. An example of a signal analyzer is an Oscilloscope,  it’s a device that analyzes signals of different forms and has a wide application in different fields and professions today. From the author’s analysis, the mind acts as the signal analyzer while the heart takes the final decision.

If man wasn’t already dead spiritually then God wouldn’t have bothered about giving him a new spirit and a new heart.

Funmi presents a compelling argument by clearly stating that it is not enough to just claim you believe in Jesus Christ. You must also prove that by obediently following Him. If you truly believe in Him, you will hear Him and do His sayings. God’s desire for His children to be tamable and coachable just like the sheep because hardly deviate from the path channeled by the shepherd and are much sensitive of intruders or strangers.

We are not of the world. Yet at the same, that does not mean we are not meant to be in charge. This is quite a salient point made in the book reminding us that we are the light of the world and while we remain here we are to be in charge by and for our Lord Jesus Christ and make known the manifold wisdom of God to the principalities and powers among the celestial ones.

Talking about God as Shepherd, Funmi posits that God is completely charismatic in his leadership; strong communicator, empathetic and relatable, confident, motivational. This in return gives us joy, loveliness and makes resources available. His final words were “As we have returned to the Shepherd of our soul, let us trust Him for the best in life. Remember He is the good Shepherd, Who gave His life, His soul, for us His sheep. (John 10:11.)”
