The Highway of God

Everyday lived in fear
Is a day lost…
Lost to care of what may or may not be
A match of endless knots in the plain
Invented by the devil
Funded by the host of darkness
The referee, a master of lies
The ball – arrows of thoughts shot at the fertile field of the saints’ hearts
The goal, to rob us of our faith
To distract us from winning our race
To shift our focus from our Captain
To steal our strength and might
To weary us in discouragement
To put us in despair
To take away our confidence
To sow his seeds of doubt!

But we refuse to play the devil’s game.
We turnaway from his perilous field that enslaves
Deaf to a constant blow of his whistles
Each day, we choose the upper road to God
The highway of righteousness…
Trailed and known to sons of God
Narrow but built for God’s children
Rough but leading to life
Stony, full of obstacles but promising…
We may not know what to expect
But we follow the way anyways
Trusting Him who promised us an expected end.

Stand still

In a world full of compromises
And the Called are blending in
And we can no longer separate the wheat from the chaff
When so much pressure rests like a huge weight
On the weary backs of the saints
And there are treasures at stake
The battles rage on
Between light and darkness
Beyond the seen world and more in the heavenlies
Yet, in all these,
To the ones who have not kissed Baal
Who will not to him bow
Our Master whispers:
Stand Still.

In a time when the second coming of Jesus Christ
Seems like a fairy tale, passed on from one generation to another
Where the world has become busy with trivialities
And many now have opinions about the Word of God,
unsolicited, opposing and tainted with deception
Painted for mass reception
Leading to gloom and doom
Sponsored by the ruler of darkness, blinding minds with his art of deception,
To the few soldiers marching on, our Commander cries:
Stand Still!

Though the enemy throws his fiercest darts,
And fires his blazing arrows
Mounting on and causing chaos
Flashing now and then, enticing damnable vanities
Parading his tainted, costly riches and goods
In exchange for righteous souls
Hear our Saviour’s caution now
For our Redeemer still says, “focus on me” and:
Stand Still.

Are You?

Behold the cloud
the train of our King
the procession of heavens host

hear the blasting sounds
of trumpets
calling for the assembly of saints
dead and living

gathering at the table
feasting at the Lamb’s banquet
joy is the wine
in unending glee to dine

but feel the gnashing of teeth
the regrets of ostrich-like men
who missed the flight

are you transformed to fly
or heated to cry ?
Are you?
