The Fortress

I stand here, witness to a shelter God shaped
not from stone,
but from the quiet, patient ways He mended me.
A refuge lifted from the ruins of every moment
His mercy refused to let define my story.

For years,
I mistook strength for silence
but even the softest prayer can rise like wind,
and mine learned to swell
because God understood my trembling
before it ever touched my lips.

This place, His making
isn’t just somewhere to hide;
it breathes with the memory
of battles I thought would end me
yet left me standing.

Its doors hold the imprint of fears
my Father pressed into the past.
Its watchposts lean into the sky
because He has guarded both my midnights
and every new morning.

Do not call these walls fragile;
they were shaped by the One
who refuses to let my soul collapse.
Every beam carries His assurance,
every layer His voice
reminding me that surviving
is not disgrace, but grace.

I learned a fortress isn’t meant
to keep the world out,
but to remind the heart inside my heart
that it lives under His covering.

So I turn the lock on doubt
and pull wide the openings
where His Spirit enters,
letting courage breathe its way
through every hidden room of me.

So, If you see me standing higher than before,
it isn’t pride, it is gratitude.
Gratitude to the Most High
who raises me, and keeps on raising me.

For even iron can falter,
but the life held in His hands
learns to rise again and in rising,
His stronghold becomes my freedom.

CHRIST FIRST!

Don’t say “Yes Lord”
When your actions say “No”
Don’t live to please the flesh
Above the ONE who says “me first!”

Go to the scriptures and learn from King Saul
A man anointed by God but lived to please his subjects first

God was put in second place
For he chose to please his people above His God

He lost not only his crown but also his throne
His honour and his life all gone in a flash

For Jesus said “No man can serve two masters
He will love one and hate the other
Therefore let no one or thing compete with God
Or take His place in our hearts
Turn it to prayer right now

Bread of Life

This weakness in my body
Emptiness of my soul
Weariness of my spirit
Vanishes when I feed on Him!
The Bread of life

Bread of life
Given for all
Take your place
Changing our ways
Fill our hearts
Till we want no more

I Choose This Place

Travellers: We are not sure where to go, neither do we know the way.
This is not a place we’ve been before, shouldn’t we choose the old place?
Pilgrim!?! Why do you still walk like you don’t care what we say?
Don’t you know we have walked through time more times than you have?
P…?

Pilgrim: I’m not walking alone, Don’t you see him?
I’m not going my way, don’t you see it?
The sign posts through His words, don’t you read it?
I’ve tread the path you wish you return to,
It seems more predictable but it’s wealth is empty, don’t you know it?
I’m not led by my will, don’t you feel it?

Traveller: Feel what?

Pilgrim: His presence, don’t you see the light – HIs light?
I’ve seen the rain, seen sun, I’ve felt peace, felt storm,
I was dead but now, I live,
Trust me, Life is home for me.
I would walk through thorns and rough paths
Cause I know its Him leading the way.
I can walk though fire, He said I would not be burned.
It’s as certain as His word says it.
He knows the way and we follow
Through His word, I won’t dash my feet against a stone,
No matter how bumpy the road may be.

Travellers: How do you have such insight?
We are greyed with the years of experience
But we have not known such things with much conviction.
We have heard but we have not seen,
We have learned but have not lived,
We store up words but reject the life,
We teach but do not repent ourselves.

Pilgrim: Faith is our sight.
I do not see the thoughts of my heart,
They are deceitful.
I choose to walk where He walks
I choose to run where He runs
His word is light to my path,
It’s safe in His arms,
I choose this place.

Gone prodigal again

_I did it again!_
Left my place of rest in search of fading bliss
I called ‘inheritance’ what was mere gifts
Dropped my daily routine to unwind with wild parties
Past achievements that have become ashes
I knew I was out of power but the fan’s still turning in my direction and it felt cool
I knew my embers were getting cold but I couldn’t resist the urge to dance without recharging and see what it felt like
I knew my  light was getting dimmer but I claimed I was shining in the darkness
Away from my Source
Away from who made me son
Away from my true inheritance
Away from my natural habitat

_I did it again!_
How can I face Father this time with shoes on?
How can I expect his forgiveness after the limit for a day?
How can I tell him his robe got torn?
How can I tell him the reason I am back was the memory of the tasty beef in my mouth?
That I want to be welcomed again?
That He was right and I lived wrong again?
How can I tell him I did it again?

I choose this place

If light and darkness
Could fill the same space
At the same time

Then sin and righteousness
Could co-exist

Then I could love
And hate
And it would be cool

Or I could curse
And bless
With no fuss

Life could be easier
Being in every place

I could be the killer at night
And the healer when it dawns

And I could be the revealer
And concealer
Of truths or lies

But light has its place
And darkness owns its space

And in darkness,
I could sin
And hate
And curse
And kill
And lie

But in light,
I love, I bless, I heal, I speak truth
I am the righteousness of God

In the space of darkness
I owned not myself
I was bound
And did as compelled

But in the place of light
I live freely
Bonded only by love

So,
I choose freely
To stay with light
To live as light
To die as light

I choose the place of light
I choose this place

IT IS NO LONGER I…BUT CHRIST

Even though I was relegated
A high transfer fee was paid
To bring me into this new club

Christ celestial club
THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
A new heart and new spirit is given me

I love this Jersey, I love it here
The seasons are blissful forever.
Thank God it is no longer I
But Christ who purchased me.

GOD IS SATISFIED ( Watchman Nee ‘The Normal Christian Life’ )

What do you know about eternal glory,
Immortal celestial glory?
Have you been to heavenly Jerusalem?

Have you read of the MOST HOLY PLACE?
Have you heard of the everlasting God?
Do you know the Holy High Priest?

His blood is enough for the family reunion.
In Christ our firstborn and lord,
Eternity, heaven and earth are but specks.
