My Loan to The Lord

Hello Gods chosen one! I trust your day has been delightful. These creative gems from Freestyle Friday are worth checking out today.

Topic: MY LOAN TO THE LORD
DATE: 25TH OCTOBER, 2024
HOST: GODZNIEL

We kicked things off smoothly with this brilliant piece by GodzNiel:
When my errors were squared up and said “Boss, e dun be for thee.
Little has worked and has thee all worked up in your jealousy.
Jokes are your stock and guess what, the effort is your legacy.”
Mery said, “No, Epilogues are the time I like to change story. “

Mery said…
Mery said, “No…”

Make it so long that they forget the starting
The story goes on, different ears will be tingling
Because we sowed God, He is what we are reaping
He said the latter was the plan from the planting
And God invented both the end and the beginning
Sell him those years, let him pay you unending
But I crawled to Him with last of my substance
He said to me, “Boy what you need is repentance…
And everyone has turning points in abundance
But Mercy said, “No, this one is a romance. “

Mery said…
Mery said…
Mery said, “No…”
Mery said, “No…”

Let me give him my hours
He redeemed them
From a broken heart muddy from believing lies
From a fallen weak from holding on
Even family ties broke when I strayed in life
The predators let you eat a bite before they latch on
But the silhouette of the Lord is the trigger to rejoice
The sound of his voice eliminates the noise
Let me give him my choice
He who gave me my voice

GodzNiel continued:
The thumbs of a man
Who strayed from the plan
Only to discover the Holy demands
And moonwalk back into his hands
Repentance
We act like God is lacking humans
We act like God is trynna make friends
And we have plans, he should wait small
Reprobacy is gradient,
like a business yeah it starts small

Dear Jesus
Dear Jesus
They asked me to target an SDG
I told them I’m targeting knowing thee
Doing my work as I fast till 3
Lost to the World I was found in thee

Yah

Holy Holy I’m Nazarene
Reborn by you said to me
Say the Word and gimme grace to be
What you say is final finally

Hosanna Hosanna, I die on the matter
The story is over, we’re living on credit
Not one lost who belongs to the Father
Matthew Twenty-eight, go there and read it

My loan to The Lord
How can I fail with this much faith?
I believe and that is it
Not me, but the one who sent me
I am his epistle, like a loaded pistol
Music if you listen, flow like River Pishon
Praising the Lord
My Hallelujah is a loan to the Lord
In return, all I need is a Word
Guess what he’s telling me
“Abide, I’ll be all you need. Tell them what’s happening. I am the end…innit?
I am the treasure of treasures, the final bonanza, the question and answer, the pearl of the wise, the business of life, forever and ever and yet I’m the moment, the King of All Life.”

On

How many times time can I say it though?
Love is crazy when you think about it
The Lover is happier say so
When he really feels the way he’s saying
Never too much ‘I love you’s
Never too much ‘I got you’
What is it that I can’t do
I have died just to raise you
Set it all up to raise you
Put in stuff to amaze you
And yet you…
Need a device, to look my eyes, the time must be right or you won’t delight in Holding my hand
Haba
My eyes are always on you
My love is like a tattoo
Time is a heavenly notebook
Tell me who it is you wrote to

This stunning piece by GodzNiel marked the conclusion of Freestyle Friday:
My loan to the Lord is my casting
Failing men and devils asking
I’ll be hidden in my Light King
That’s him
Yeshua forever, Salvation and Glory
Without him there is no story
I’ll write you a letter with this breath you gave me as ink
Father you are how I’m blessed indeed
Silver and Gold can be stolen, please
What I called ‘wealth’ is your inner peace
Your spirit in me

I
Heavenly Journalist
Of Nigerians, I’m the very least
But I have eaten of the holy feast
My loan to the Lord is to share his gist

Pay Attention

Hello, My name is Adeleye and today I will be your tour guide on this wonderful first freestyle journey for the year.
Godswill was at the wheels and he decided to go vintage today;  At 5:52pm he said : Lets try an oldie: Freestyle with pictures and at exactly 5:57pm he dropped three picture prompts.

Ini brown dropped some hot bars at 6:14pm :

Pay attention to handwriting on the wall
For the signs and seasons signal many will fall
Let this rhyme of reason remind stand tall
For love wax cold at winter’s call

Pay attention to the Hand, writing on the wall.
Love personified, who can pick you if you fall
Mercy magnified, he heed you when you call
Hands always out stretched for your.

At 6:25pm, Godswill wrote:

pay attention to handwritings on this wall
this painting is noise so your bargain is null
the diversity seduces your soul to a dull
so spend your attention wisely like Paul

on things that lovely, kind and pure
within that noise HIS hand beckons
it pulls you in through the cross and more
pay attention to Hand’s writing on the wall

But Godswill wasn’t done, he decided to draw the curtains on the day by 8:50pm as he wrote:

There are many storylines but there is one storywriter. There is only one way that leads to the end and only the maze master knows it. Many men have argued about who wins the chess game between the foreseer and the mindreader but the creator will always checkmate.

And there you have it! The first freestyle session for the year! What are way to start! Don’t miss any of our sessions this year as we will be serving it hot this year!

Words for My Father

Baami,
For the times your words enveloped my fear,
Times your voice echoed courage into my soul,
And you became strength for my arms,
When the weight of the world became too heavy for me to bear,

Nna,
You built an image our lives could reflect on,
And carved words into pointers to guide us,
As we journeyed through the world,
You denied yourself of pleasures,
So we could afford the luxury we desired;
A price you’d pay as long as you had breath in your lungs,

How can I forget the touch of your rod,
A few lashes to straighten us when we went wrong,
How can I forget lessons enriched in respect, integrity and diligence,
Lessons drawn from the scenes of your life,
Lessons we could hold in the palms of our hands,
Lessons that moulded us into the men we are today!

Abba,
I choose to count my flowers while the sun still shines upon your face and the wind gently caresses you,
When the air in your lungs still warms up your chest,
And your heart still beats,
Today, I choose to celebrate you for being nothing short of a father!
Happy Father’s day Baami.

And to those Father who has gone beyond this world,
We choose to remember you and say you live on in hearts!

Nostalgia

She said I write but it is not poetic
I guess I just recognize a selling point
Point me to the past I’ll be back at it
That first day I saw Godswill

Mmm

I’m emotional I beg your pardon
The things that connect when you meet a God person
I can at least afford to pay attention

All of that bed dressing
But I am not done with the lesson
Cedars got on stage like “We are the best thing”
Masks on my wall, I forgot to call Kizi

We grew from one location
To going on tour and we’re just beginning
They tell me “Bro, one day you go blow”
I smile and bow a seed will die to grow

I could make an anthem for the kain ship
You guys make me feel so fancy
There are stories that I daren’t tell
Movies make my head swell
Eating cabbage like it’s fresh bread
Being Nigerian is a king thing
I just kill all the dread
Luck or is it grace that I’m mehd
if you don’t walk on water
You’ll be doing so soon
What you are is enough
When it’s time don’t you bloom?

Don’t you bloom?

Rape Rep

I represent the biggest scums of the century.
I represent one of the greatest threats to women globally.

Your body is already a beautiful battlefield. A rose with thorns torn apart by it’s blueprint. It is not enough that your body cries rose-coloured tears monthly, some members of my gender have turned your pores into drawers for stashing away years of frustration. Tiny portals of escape, from which they seek prison-breakthroughs. Scofielding along your orchards, fuelled by animalistic passions.

Do something
That’s what I’m trying to say
Show me I am worth the pain, give me hope to a fault; tell me life has a meaning

That’s what I read in your diary
I am what you blame for dying, greet
One of the biggest
scum in existence
Women, they fear me
My favourite victims
…Men mostly in prison.
I am traumatizing

We’ve got a new brand for the parents
Comes with the power to pay rent
Found out I am recycling
Let’s leave the topic quietly
I’ve come from an old day
People started that way
Ignoring any volition
But theirs, until…

Explanation

How do you explain this action without insight?
Did I say rapture without revelation?
Did it say we were going to pay attention?
I mean I heard the towns criers will cry using a trumpet
It might be tragic like the climax of a movie, to some
Suspense shouldn’t befall -be for- us since summing up Gen to Rev
Has been to look for the x in the lifestyle of Christ
How would you explain this without Christ and the cross?

Slavery

I spoke to Runs girl once,
She said her anger is her source
As she was forced to this life
By her Uncle who came like a thief in the Night and her virginity was the casualty
So the penalty is death for all those who now commit the crime of sleeping with her
She blames they, them
For the mayhem she cause their Marriages
‘I wouldn’t pay for damages when my case has been adjourn’
Everyone I told turn a blind eye to my hurt
Now my heart burns with hate
If you stare at me, your fate might be a night to that hell I have been put through
I and my crew will screw all of you till you forget your wives and call us Boo
She like many others are Nigerian avengers
Fighting the ghost of their abusers
And I too felt her pain
A slave to a past that had been stained,
But can be snow if she chooses to let his light glow
Even if life has given her a low blow as she wrestles with her past demons
She can tag him in
He will guarantee her the win
Then the will to talk of his saving grace with pride
Everywhere she goes, she sows seed of hope to girls like her who are still slaves to rippers of souls
Tell them the past matters but the future is what they want to see and behold
