a light in dark times

FOOLISH TRUTH

Probably would start like a joke so funny

And you might have taken it for granted ignorantly

But when you’re faced with the truth and its reality

It makes nothing of the facts and notions of what life is

It betrays the knowledge learnt and gathered over the years

You may run from it, blot it out or try to ignore it

Yet it seems so real, too serious, sometimes even life threatening

It challenges the very depths of our understanding

And though facing it poses too much to handle

It always remains what it is, the truth.

Yes the truth we must face and acknowledge we must its reality

Be it now in this present world or in eternity

It holds the answers to our puzzles and questions that we seek

And no matter how cliché, petty, foolish, unwise, uneducated even unrealistic

You can be certain that it stands sure as the truth.

1st Corinthians 1:25-27

John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

This is one truth we run away from although it does hold the answers we truly seek. The devil’s greatest trick is to make man live in a fool’s paradise called a normal life but no matter how foolish it sounds the +truth is here for all to see. JESUS SAVES

CHANGING TIMES

As I look down memory lane I remember

Like a little shrub at the dawn of sprouting

My admission, left me shouting

Alas there was yet another route to explore

Just behind the great gate of learning before me Continue reading

HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW THAT FELLOW

When you get to know a fellow,

know his joy and know his cares,

When you’ve come to understand the burdens

That he bears,

When you’ve learned the fight he’s making

And the troubles in his way,

Then you’ll find that he’s different than you

Thought you knew him yesterday.

You find his faults are trivial, there’s not so much to blame,

In the fellow that you jeered at when you only knew his name

You are quick to see the blemish in the distant neighbour’s style

And your prejudices fatten and your hates more violent grow,

As you talk about his failures  your hates more violent grow,

As you talk about the failures of the man you do not know

But when drawn a little closer and your hands and shoulders touch

You find the traits you hated really didn’t amount to much

When you get to know a fellow, know his every mood and whim,

You begin to find the texture and the splendid side of him

You begin to understand him, and you cease to scoff and stare

For with understanding, all this prejudices disappear

You begin to find his virtues, and his faults you cease to tell,

For you seldom hate a fellow when you know him very well

When you get to know a fellow, you understand his ways,

Then his fault won’t really matter, for you will find a lot to praise.
