LIGHT IN DARKNESS
While the world chased shadows and ordinary moments, something extraordinary was brewing in the heart of Penspeak Community Unizik.
On the 20th of March, 2025, we gathered again—not for noise, not for trend—but for truth. Hosted by the ever-vibrant GodzNiel, the atmosphere hummed with quiet expectation.
And just as the sun crept gently across the sky, Mc Wisdom stepped forward. Words found their rhythm, and voices turned into vessels. The floor opened, and what followed was more than just poetry—it was revelation.
CULTURE
This is a culture
Where compassion meets conviction,
A culture that values the least, the last, the lost
Where the humble are lifted, and the proud are pay the cost
A culture of forgiveness, where mercy reigns
Where grace is the currency, and love is the aim
A culture that seeks to serve, to give and to bless
Where the great commandment is lived in the lives of the masses
A culture that welcomes the stranger,
A culture that never lacks provisions nor provider
This is the culture of Christ,
A culture shown through it act
Where love is the foundation,
And faith is rooted in hearts
A culture that transforms,
That renews and makes new
A culture that reflects the beauty,
Of a love that’s true
But he didn’t stop there, for there was dessert…
ASK
“Ask, and it shall be given unto you
A promise from the Father, a truth that’s true
In the book of Matthew, thats Jesus spoken words
An invitation to seek, to knock, and to be heard
Ask, and you shall receive
But do you believe?
Do you trust in the goodness of God’s heart?
Do you believe that He’s willing move the heavens and the earth!, to act?
In the Psalms, David asks for guidance and light
He asks for protection, for mercy, and for might
He asks, and God answers, in the most unexpected ways
A reminder that he knows the plan he has for you that of good and not of evil,
So, just Ask! and you shall receive
But what are you asking for?
Are you asking for wealth, for fame, for power?
Or are you asking for wisdom, for love, for an hour?
In James, it’s written, ‘You have not, because you ask not’
What is Manna that he cannot give to you,but just come,
But ASK, SEEK, KNOCK, REACH AND CLIMB.
He has made provision according to his riches in glory so just …
ASK! …, and watch as God pause the heavens and the earth.
And he summon FAVOR to come to you from everything that has breath.
So,Ask!
and you shall receive, that’s not just a spoken word to you
But a promise from the Father, who is fair and true.”
Just hold on to faith,no fear,
and believe that he hears!
And while we were still in awe of the delicacy he dropped before us, Deelight waltzed through the door, wielding her pen like a sword, ready to butcher our thoughts…
A PRAYER IN THE STORM…
In the rain that soaks through my skin
Bound by thunders that shake my fragile heart
Teach me to number my days…
Teach me to be ignorant to the complacent ways.
School me properly in your faith-like expertise.
School me to discern between your rebuke and a tease.
Illuminate my parietal and occipital lobes
To creatively craft out not just what is but is to come
Illuminate this momental sea fitted with blue strobes.
Teach that I don’t rise after the storm but in the storm
Oh refiner, purify my originality…no be to dey form.
Sharpen my will like a blade forged in the furnaces of adversity
Instruct me on the steps to take to glorify my very own deity…
Numb the norms in my storm till the waves conform
Their tweet storm of opinions will quickly escalate into a firestorm of controversy, eventually leading to a hailstorm of backlash from the public.
For what is dead may never die…
It is only transformed to conform to the image of that which was beheld.
This is my prayer..
Our hearts bare, our souls in need of repair, maybe next month we’d find the solace we need, in words coated in sugar and honey and pressed firmly against our lips…

Stand still
In a world full of compromises
And the Called are blending in
And we can no longer separate the wheat from the chaff
When so much pressure rests like a huge weight
On the weary backs of the saints
And there are treasures at stake
The battles rage on
Between light and darkness
Beyond the seen world and more in the heavenlies
Yet, in all these,
To the ones who have not kissed Baal
Who will not to him bow
Our Master whispers:
Stand Still.
In a time when the second coming of Jesus Christ
Seems like a fairy tale, passed on from one generation to another
Where the world has become busy with trivialities
And many now have opinions about the Word of God,
unsolicited, opposing and tainted with deception
Painted for mass reception
Leading to gloom and doom
Sponsored by the ruler of darkness, blinding minds with his art of deception,
To the few soldiers marching on, our Commander cries:
Stand Still!
Though the enemy throws his fiercest darts,
And fires his blazing arrows
Mounting on and causing chaos
Flashing now and then, enticing damnable vanities
Parading his tainted, costly riches and goods
In exchange for righteous souls
Hear our Saviour’s caution now
For our Redeemer still says, “focus on me” and:
Stand Still.

Righteousness
Company man, my company’s manned by God
Heavenly HMO, I’m chewing his curd
Doing the Word,
He washed off my stains with his blood
I still pray my lust would just get lost
And I forget the things that he carved off
I just trust and lay hands with my hands off
Life is like a big book, everybody’s breathing ink
And we sign with things we do, say and think
And the righteous smile at the last blink
That’s a benefit of being in divine sync
Bibles are selfies of God with his Aloba
—throwback
Christ is still the capital and turnover
All over the world, bent knees still pullover
And I’m never switching off my inner light
Mark 4 velocity—shows you how a winner fights
John 3 & 5, one meeting healing many nights
Bread of Life,
Lord, let me get another tera bite
Righteous? Yes
— that is Christ’s success
I confess,
We are the truly blessed
Wherever we’re sent, they are blessed to receive
Oh, if they only believe

Gone prodigal again
_I did it again!_
Left my place of rest in search of fading bliss
I called ‘inheritance’ what was mere gifts
Dropped my daily routine to unwind with wild parties
Past achievements that have become ashes
I knew I was out of power but the fan’s still turning in my direction and it felt cool
I knew my embers were getting cold but I couldn’t resist the urge to dance without recharging and see what it felt like
I knew my light was getting dimmer but I claimed I was shining in the darkness
Away from my Source
Away from who made me son
Away from my true inheritance
Away from my natural habitat
_I did it again!_
How can I face Father this time with shoes on?
How can I expect his forgiveness after the limit for a day?
How can I tell him his robe got torn?
How can I tell him the reason I am back was the memory of the tasty beef in my mouth?
That I want to be welcomed again?
That He was right and I lived wrong again?
How can I tell him I did it again?

Be Better Salt
Be better salt
The unique taste you bring
Even in your smallest unit
Make a huge difference
Don’t try to compromise it
Just because fools don’t see your worth
You are good for more things than nothing
You are the salt of the earth
Without you, even in your smallest form; the earth lacks some form of taste.
Be a light, be the greater light
Don’t hide your light under a bushel
Just to look cool
Don’t keep your flames down
Because you’re afraid others will get burned
You are a light, and yours will light them up
You are the light of the world
Your presence reveals the beauty of creation
Be the one
Creation gets excited to see
Be the one
That gives it hope
You are the ‘I am’ on earth

Keep Beholding Christ
Our focus creates our energies.
It acts, it spells our destinies.
Good or bad , holy or evil,
Our focus is the cause.
Estranged from God,
Descending into despair,
Unrest and faithlessness
Are all but effect of our focus.
Do not be a fool,
Suffer not unnecessary
Focus on the light
And darkness dispels.
Remember,
Your hope of glory
Keep beholding Christ.
