BUT GOD…

Hey there! I hope your day has been nothing short of wonderful. It’s always a good day to go through these powerful pieces from Freestyle Friday with you.

TOPIC: BUT GOD…
DATE: 20TH DECEMBER, 2024
HOST: GODZNIEL

We were captivated by an amazing piece from the incomparable host himself GodzNiel:
Sure I would have cracked crooked lines in the past
Sure I would have bent or broke down fast
Sure the snide remarks would have marked me for gas
But God has god-handled all or most of that

Weave

Abase me the lowest,
I was born to serve like life is a game of lawn Tennis
I just fit the good turns in the others like it’s Holy Tetris
Call me blind to the sea of opportunities
That’s ok because over here we walk by faith and not by sight
God is enough prep time
He is both my power and my might

Weave – tap

No need to gaslight or lie, I forgive
All have sinned
No need to pretend you’re right, I just listen
Judges 3
All the mouth-watering born of past me has been dried up
by a mind renewed; Do you really mind if I don’t talk?
Sure I would been on the defense before But God…

Flicker

Water from the Brook and Angels sent me dinner
What am I to worry about when I have Yah forever?
What about this life is even worth my holy ginja
Twice you’ll find me beg, one is when I beg to differ

Then I beg your pardon

Duck

Can’t be petty from the wings of a eagle
Sorry
Can’t be lacking when the earth is the Lord’s
Boring
I am who God says I am, not a sum of money
Sure enough some miracles would be too pricey
But I’m feeling like Elisha with a Type-C

C for Christ
C for Courage
C for Charged
C for Calling
Closed my eyes, Spirit leading
Cornerstone, Rocked my building
C for chains, that he’s breaking
Cake and Wine, Caught my guy
Chased him way out to Aja
Choice of words, choice of life
Cleansed us clean and curbed our cries
Children come, climb aboard
Cross the sea of cretins cursed
C for Chosen, C for Changes
C for Crazy testimonies

C4
Tick tock
Tick talk
TikTok, then I blow my life away just living for this God talk
God talks, you can listen free if you don’t talk
Boom, yeah I said it
Silence is a sure ingredient
But I guess we need the music
We are Sauls in need of David

Weave

Lock the heart away from pleasure,
Seek the Lord like He is treasure
Don’t treat prayer like a leisure
Kind regards, me in the Mirror

HOPEFULLY HELPFUL TALK || EP. 11

Confidence And Arrogance Are Different

Arrogance/Pride is not of God. Confidence/Boldness is of God.

No matter what you have become – a Christian experiencing and performing the supernatural or a respected professional in your field, pride only blinds you if you let it in.

Fear is not humility; Many people are afraid of what people think of/say about them. Some are afraid of the future and the unknown.

This is what brings a lack of confidence, but you are to walk in faith, in confidence and in boldness. (Jeremiah 17:7, Proverbs 11:2, 18:12, Isaiah 40:31, Proverbs 26:12)

A Failed Weapon

There is a weapon, I mustn’t use as a Christian
Because using it, is tantamount to failure
I am strongly warned by captain of the Lord’s army
Never to use this weapon
It is certain that, it will definitely fail whether here or hereafter

Rickety machine gun, Mr. flesh
This weapon is weak to execute righteousness without taking the glory
Executing, holiness, peace, love,
humility, joy, kindness is far-fetched from this weapon
Using this weapon for the Lord’s battle is disastrous

A weapon set against the user
You shoot hatred, you inherit broken relationship
You shoot lust, you inherit vanity
You shoot anger, you inherit disorientation
You shoot worries, you inherit high blood pressure

Truly, is a weapon set against the user
if he uses it, the arm of flesh will fail.
The only authentic weapon to use for the battle
Is the weapon of a new man
Created in the image of Christ Jesus

His Will, My Will

I love my freedom, it is my human right
Nobody can take it from me – they mutter
This attitude to life resonates “It does not matter”
Bringing in its wake much piercings and hurt

The human will though a beauty to behold,
Allows us to be who we want to be unperturbed
And to do what we want to do- undisturbed
Left unchecked, wounds multitudes untold

Truly, the world is filled with so many evils
Emanating from some freedom gone wild
Evils perpetrated by men of consciences-seared
Leaves behind so much sorrow and ills

Over 2000 years ago, someone thought of himself less
King of kings and Lord of all came visiting, cloaked in humility
Left his domain, came to our wicked world proclaiming liberty
Freedom from sin, replaced with dominion previously lost

When I placed my faith in Jesus, he gave me power over sin
His will now reigns supreme above my freedom- so cherished
Now I can say yes to my father’s revealed will – as my savior did
Making my world safer, brighter than it had earlier been

Who Is Jesus 2

JESUS is our hope.
In this gross darkness in which we grope,
He’s our solution, not just a way to cope!
So even in the midst of recession, confusion, depression, oppression,
He stands as our resurrection,
Life in all its perfection!
JESUS is our prince
JESUS is our peace…
All at the same time.

JESUS is timeless.
He has been, He will be
His reign is endless
He has conquered hell and the grave
All power belongs to HIM and He alone can save
He was there from the beginning,
He’ll be there till the end
He’s not just our saviour,
He’s our friend!
JESUS is the Alpha
JESUS is the Omega…
All at the same time

Who Is Jesus

JESUS is…
The greatest hero in the greatest tale ever told,
The mighty king who left his estate of gold
Not for ‘snow white’
No.
For people whose garments were far from bright,
People who interpret wrong as right,
People whose eyes had never known light
JESUS is our knight in shiny armour,
He’s our prince charming in all his splendour…
all at the same time

JESUS is God disguised as man
Divinity masked in humanity,
The All Powerful cloaked in humility.
The Creator who meekly stands at the door of the created,
Calmly calling out to all who are broken, all who need their hearts mended
Calling out to the weak, the sick, to all people, to all nations
Offering the free gift of redemption!
JESUS is a superman
JESUS is a gentleman…
All at the same time

JESUS is God’s extension cord of love.
Love… nothing short of divine, sent from above.
Laying it all on the line,
He gave his life and took on mine
Freely, he gave us freedom
Choosing to make us a part of his kingdom!
He rescued us from the sentence of our sins,
And our lives haven’t been the same ever since!
JESUS is the Lion,
JESUS is the Lamb…
All at the same time

Modesty

Modesty could be called humility because by definition modesty is holding to an unassuming or moderate belief in the estimation of one’s own abilities or achievements; thereby trusting in God’s grace.

It is also showing moderation in one’s own behavior like being free from vanity, egotism, boastfulness, or great pretensions. Appearance and actions reflect the life we live. We present ourselves to the world based on our self-perception and aspirations. To be modest is to consider what our clothing and behavior represent and how they influence those around us.

“Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

1 Samuel 16:7

Modesty is the outward expression of inner purity.

“likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.”

1 Timothy 2:9-10

Although all people of all ages should be clothed with humility toward one another, knowledge of who we are in Christ is crucial to a life of biblical modesty.

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Ephesians 4:1-3

Modesty certainly includes gentleness, patience, bearing with one another, and having a spirit of unity and living in peace among others. This modest type of behavior pleases God and it also makes others see Christ living in us and may cause others to look to the Savior.

Listen

What if you knew that I truly would rather not be here?
What if you knew that my knees refuse to be still?
That my pounding heart is the one sound you cannot hear
Would you listen to me still?

What if I told you how unsure I am of this?
That time and chance kidnapped my will and set me up
What if my lines are not yet the truth I want to live?
Would you listen or shut me up?

What if I am confident?
I know what I have put in , I am ready
What if I don’t fit in the box “humility” presents?
Would you be pissed or yet listen to me?

What if I am nothing like what you are expecting
What if you still listened anyways?
What if the content was your hearts longing?
Wouldn’t you be glad you listened anyways?
