Stand still

In a world full of compromises
And the Called are blending in
And we can no longer separate the wheat from the chaff
When so much pressure rests like a huge weight
On the weary backs of the saints
And there are treasures at stake
The battles rage on
Between light and darkness
Beyond the seen world and more in the heavenlies
Yet, in all these,
To the ones who have not kissed Baal
Who will not to him bow
Our Master whispers:
Stand Still.

In a time when the second coming of Jesus Christ
Seems like a fairy tale, passed on from one generation to another
Where the world has become busy with trivialities
And many now have opinions about the Word of God,
unsolicited, opposing and tainted with deception
Painted for mass reception
Leading to gloom and doom
Sponsored by the ruler of darkness, blinding minds with his art of deception,
To the few soldiers marching on, our Commander cries:
Stand Still!

Though the enemy throws his fiercest darts,
And fires his blazing arrows
Mounting on and causing chaos
Flashing now and then, enticing damnable vanities
Parading his tainted, costly riches and goods
In exchange for righteous souls
Hear our Saviour’s caution now
For our Redeemer still says, “focus on me” and:
Stand Still.

Woman

Woman!

A Special Specie carefully crafted of the Crafter.
Different kind of the same, bone of a bone yet complete in entirety, as we replicated skeletons when Adam took his nap.
Created with love and compassion as a vital ingredient, One whose seed will continually trample on the head of the serpent.

Wife!

Complements, nurtures, supports, submits strengthens. With the ability to build, grow, hold, and develop.
A warrior whose weapons physical swords cannot comprehend, a friend, one who is willing to stand till the end.

Mother!

A sacrificial being, willing to lay down her life so her youngling can live
A home many are eager to run to
A builder, impacting principles to the generation next, leaving legacies for the world today see.

A fruit bearing tree,
A warrior whose sight frightens the enemy, as she constantly stands as a watch for her family.

A prolific woman, wife and mother
Standing firmly on the virtues of proverbs 31
Blessed is everyone that comes in her contact, at work, at home, in church, for the favour she Carries flows through her to everyone, and no one is left unloved, no, not one.

Mother!

Fathers Confidant
A plus to the body of Christ

The world may bring different definitions of who a mother is, but we find the true definition when we look at you, for you represent THE Truth, JESUS CHRIST!

Mother!
Beyond the title, its the whisper of God to the Holy Spirit saying “Mould Her”
For it takes a special strength and training to be you.

See the Sons you’ve raised.
See the legacies you’ve made.

If there’s a time to celebrate you, then it’ll be today, yesterday, tomorrow and forever!

Happy Mothers’ Day!

Whose Honour Do You Seek?

In a generation where everyone wants their voice to be heard and their face to be known, you need to determine right at the inception whose honour you are going to be after. Know that in the journey to stardom, so many people and things do vie for the travellers’ attention on the way. Many will also make themselves vulnerable just to be identified with the most famous in the land. They will do everything possible to be seen with them, just to show to the public that they are important too. They will do all possible for acceptance. This is sure selling well in this generation. Highly rampant!

But whose honour do you seek, God’s or man’s? Who are you out to please? Note, trying to gain the approval of a man will only make you compromise in some ways, just that you may be accepted. It will cause you to modify some Christly convictions you’ve held so preciously. The Lord Jesus is asking you to dare to stand out today! In your expedition to stardom, don’t follow the conventional but the primordially set God’s standard. Don’t (for whatever reason) wane in the right things you’ve known of the Lord, even if you look odd. Stay believing rightly by seeking the honour that comes only from God.

“How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?”

John 5:44

God has helped him found a ministry by the name, THE SIMPLE LIFE OF CHRIST MINISTRY (AKA THE RESTING PLACE), the platform through which God’s Spirit is helping him to reach out to the world with the simple message of Jesus Christ and by the demonstration of the Spirit and of power, which is solely for the defense and the confirmation of the same gospel of Christ.

Holy Gist

Yesterday was quite cloudy
It felt like the travelling rain
Decided to stop at my terrain to greet
But it didn’t
Flashes of lightning like swords fight pushed through the thick black clouds
It was an intentional scare I thought
And my thoughts slept with me

Now I’m thinking about it
How is a God whose voice is louder than the thunder speak so softly
That you could hear distinctly in stillness?
I remembered a time
I also wondered what lights really is
You know
Stepping into that flash of light as in the lightning
Light in light?
No shadow of turning?
How is that even possible?
How will light so fill a place
That it will cast no shadow

Hold it! what could Holy mean?
All white, flurry, smells like sweets?
Holy!
Set apart!
Yes, I later learnt what it meant
Separated for the divine
Who is actually The Vine
The one from whom we got our alias – the Branches

I was told that the Vine isn’t just a fruit tree
That it’s a tree that creeps
Better put infiltrate
It takes over
Just give it time
It’s so beautiful that after it’s done with the host
All you can see is vine
Branches faithful to the course
Actually bring forth the fruits
Occupy till I come
For you are a chosen generation
A holy priesthood
They are the ones
That become the Light in the light
The ones that there is also found no shadow of turning
God is light, in Him there’s no darkness
You are of God Little Children
The glory of the vine had made us one
As they are one
Abiding in Him as He is in the Father

How did I start this gist?
I hope it still rains today
Who knows it could make me think of another gist tomorrow.

Letter to Ola #3

Dear Olaedo,

Your greatest fear

What’s your greatest fear in life? If you are anything like me, it would be a failure.

Failure to measure up. Failure to prove to everyone that you are not basic. Failure to achieve everything you’ve set out to achieve. Failure to pepper dem. Or just failure!

Living with this fear is maddening. It is stressful! You keep trying to measure up for all the wrong reasons.

Fear is no respecter of any reason so even if it is for the right reasons, it would still mess you up.

I used to think the fear of failure is a good thing and that it would make you stay on your toes and put more effort into whatever it is you are doing to succeed.

It does the opposite.

When you have pushed all the boundaries you can push and things don’t go your way, you hate yourself. You slowly go into depression. You think you are incomplete.

Putting too much value on things that can perish is not a good idea because as much as you think you have what it takes to get and keep what you want, life still happens.
People still die!

Otedola, Dangote, and few other successful Nigerians you know weren’t the only people with access to capital, wit, hard work, and smart work in their generation.

Time and chance happen to everyone.

This is not to say you should not aspire to be great! I am a hustler! So hustle ooooooo so that…(complete it with what is likely to happen to you. Lol.)

At the end of the day we all die; the rich and the poor, the young and the old.

I don’t know my grandfather. A couple of his direct children are dead. In a few years, every other person who knew him would be dead. Would it be insensitive to say I don’t even care about him?

I hope he enjoyed the short life he lived. I hope he didn’t try to please everybody. I hope he did only what he could and what he was ready for at every point in his life.

I have the same hopes for you.

Relax!

With Love,
Mama

Letter I

Dear Believer,

Christ has not come to mould you in guilt
but manifested to destroy the fiery fright
of hell
and release thee from inferiority cell

for you’re a chosen generation
priest in kingly mansion
you’re a god
with big God

Yeshua is not here for your eviction
but all the way to the cross, it is redemption;
from thy saviour
you conquered the forces and its emperor

for you’re made a battleaxe,
weapon of war
to break the devil’s ass
and send his men trembling by thy roar

Jesus died for all thy sins
leave the screen
and stop watching the old scenes,
you already have a holy gene!

for unto us, Christ is made righteousness
in pure holiness
in perfect sanctification
and accomplished redemption

hey,
what else?

The keys to unlock the secrets of our world are in the secret place. Make prayer your priority today and be an answer to your generation.

– Steven Kator Iorfa

GENERATIONS

I have really wise friends
I have really smart friends
And then I have these other friends. These ones I don’t know how to classify them.

For when you hear their thought process, you will wonder if this part of the body called a brain is vestigial in some animals.
When they utter words, you automatically want an occupation with hammers for every thing they say make you want to break their head.

But then I got to thinking;
6 years,
10 years;
200 years from now and these same ‘not so senseless’, poor in making decisions, and utterly tiring friends of mine would be known as ‘the ancestors’
A status men will begin to idolize.

I see us use a whole lot of our mind’s compartment to believe things that were told to us by people who couldn’t figure out simple things, I mean, some of the very learned of them actually argued that the earth was flat, like a table.

Hollup!

I am not even talking about the unlearned ones from your villages that birthed those you now call grandpa. Just imagine it.

They told you to pour drinks on the floor for the ancestors and you agree, well it’s *Omenala, so it can’t be broken.
They said a woman should be shorn when her husband dies and well, who are we to not obey the voices of ignorance passed down to us?

We carry knowledge like tentacles on a snail’s head but still slip back into the cave of ignorance we use to shell whatever good we can make of life, just because we have been told to ‘stand on the wisdom of the elders’,
Now guess who said that? ‘THE ELDERS’

I feel this is rigged.

Then our faith, love, strength, and even humanity is subject to a broken past called tradition,
Something that might have been suggested by a ‘not so smart’ old man who was only opportune to live before us.

So I take a stand today.
I will relate with the rules of the ancestors like they were still alive now
I will weigh their wisdom based on how wise it is, NOW!
I will not waste my time in their myth, only to satisfy their dead bones long gone with the sands of time.

I will make decisions now and then advice younger generations to learn from my words, but before I go from this earth;

I will let them know I wasn’t the wisest
I wasn’t the smartest
I was as man as man can be

And most of all;
As they grow, and find better ways to do what I said couldn’t be done,

They shouldn’t be afraid to discard my letters and fly the plane of their imaginations to outer space and back.

For no matter how sacred we decide to treat the scrolls of heroes past,
And bend always to their judgments on matters, using them as the ultimate yardstick to measure life.

I dare say that many of them were also as confused as we are at some points of important decisions,
And to crown it all, some chose wrongly.

Which only goes to say that we with them were all normal humans.

And if I won’t let another man dictate what I do and decide I run my life, I’m including the great ancestors too.

*Omenala is the Igbo(Nigerian Language) word that means tradition
