To an Unknown God

Sometimes Church feels like Athens
Worship-wielding wanderers wondering

To whom do we gather in obedience?
Men masking maladies making monuments?

Our fellowship should be love in experience
For Father’s foundations form family finesse

So from what root then comes our difference?
Banal boastings blurring basic believing

To a known God shall be the gathering of brethren
Rightly revealing restful reverent righteousness

In knowing God the Church must find her essence
Honing humans hosting heaven – holy harness

Are You?

Behold the cloud
the train of our King
the procession of heavens host

hear the blasting sounds
of trumpets
calling for the assembly of saints
dead and living

gathering at the table
feasting at the Lamb’s banquet
joy is the wine
in unending glee to dine

but feel the gnashing of teeth
the regrets of ostrich-like men
who missed the flight

are you transformed to fly
or heated to cry ?
Are you?

Void

You think you need something
you get it
And then you need another thing again
It goes on and on
Like a black spiral
You can’t stop
You are insatiable
You gorge, inhale, gather till your barns are overflowing
You stand, and look, and smile, with a satisfied air of pride
You acquire all your heart can think of
And then
Then….
Then…..
You feel empty again.
Your barn’s full on the outside,
But you are empty on the inside
You grope and grope
You catch nothing
You surround yourself with people
Addictions, achievements, to feel something
But
You feel even emptier
Like a far stretched desert land
Why Man, oh Why???
What’s the purpose of gathering
When it does not fill that void, that deep, dark void
WHY????
