As I am

They say a man is measured
by the weight of his word.

If that is true,
then I stand no taller than politicians—
men fluent in promise,
faithless in keeping,
yet returned to power
by the same hands they failed.

Maybe this is Nigeria.
Maybe this is salvation.

God, choosing men like me
with a history of broken vows,
each one carried
on the tip of my tongue.

And every time I fall short,
He leans close—
not to condemn,
but to remind:

There is grace for this.
Enough to stand again.
Enough to stand before Him.

He asks for nothing polished,
only that I come
as I am.
