“Come as you are,” He says. God is not looking for perfect vessels but willing vessels.

Mother Hen
Above the city Jesus wept. “Jerusalem! Jerusalem!
Don’t turn away, Jerusalem! Come close to me,
my children.
“I am the mother hen,” he cried. “Beneath my wings
you all can hide.
There you’ll find warmth and life and love,
my little chicks, my children.
I’ve longed to gather you to me, Jerusalem! Jerusalem,
Please let me mother you! You’ll die
without my warmth, my children!”
We hear his call but turn away, for we are all
grown-up today.
We do not want a mother now. We’ll be
nobody’s children!
But as the cold world closes in, we think
about Jerusalem,
And what it’s like to walk alone, scared,
mother-love-less children.
No one lives through these dark, cold nights
without the warmth, the love, the life
That Jesus Christ, dear Mother Hen, gives gladly
to his children.
I trust we know enough of sin, to realize the bind we’re in
When even though we say we’re old, we’re acting just
like children.
And as we turn to leave the nest, convinced our choice
is for the best,
He hopes to see us come again, next time in New Jerusalem.
No one retains their innocence without the strong,
bright broody wings
That Jesus Christ, dear Mother Hen, folds softly round
his children.

Pressure
Devil, I see you!
Scheming, lurking in the dark;
Where my eyes can’t touch,
Looking for an opening to my mind,
Opening where you can drop stones….
These stones won’t break my mind,
Though built of glass, it won’t cave,
The lining is fortified and glued to my soul
My lungs are plugged to His words
So, come raging, throw your stones,
This Mind won’t cave to your pressure!

The Mortal Man’s Dialogue
Leaving behind all I’ve labored for under the sun
This body of mine has been subjected to much pain and torture
Would it be ready to leave this earth during the rapture?
Or just someday in the future?
Would I be on His right side or the other side?
Would it be a day of joy or tragedy?
That day, I would have to give an account of all my activities
All that would matter would be judgement Cause all of my possessions would matter no longer
Then the mortal me will become immortal
And the imperfect me would have a chance to become perfect
But if I be judged by what I deserve
Then there wouldn’t be need for judgement cause my heart’s already filled with guilt
But by virtue of His grace
I’ll strive for the good confession while on earth
Cause by it my sins are cleared without a trace
Boldly I can now come to His throne of grace
And I will keep sharing my salvation story
That though I had fallen short of His glory
Christ in me will forever be my hope of glory.

A New Dawn
It’s a new dawn so let’s catch fun
Let’s join the birds to sing and the cocks to crow
Let’s make melody in our hearts
Let the echoes of the drum linger
Push wide the gates of the city let our friends come in
Let’s have party after party until everyone falls in
Let the bright colours of the Disco hall tickle our fancy
My dear, drink to stupor
Lie on the floor and kiss the maidens
Now the day is far spent
The guests are long gone and the music fades away
The master is back home
What have you done with your talent
The long dreaded moment
Is inevitable and will surely come
Spend your time on things of value

Rainfall: Behind The Scenes
Once, as a child, I peered through my window
I saw the Skies smile
And the Earth come alive
The Sky flashed her eyelids and lightening tore across the ends of the world
She breathed in, and the waves of the sea rose high into the air
She breathed out, and the wind blew across the lands
All across the North and down to the South
The wind blew like an harmattan.
She shone her eyes down the Earth
Fastening her gaze upon the hills
Then flashed her eyelids again and there were more lightening
Slicing through the darkness
And
Cutting through the trees
She sighed and the thunders gathered from within her
Sneezed and the thunders exploded out
Shaking the walls and causing my window frames to quiver
And my frail heart to
pound.
Then there was calm.
She whistled
And from her lips blew the wind
The calm wind with the still sounds
It was the making of rain
I took a peek behind the scenes
And I saw
That the Skies had unzipped
She was urinating upon the earth
It was calm, cool and soothing
The rain pouring down on us.

What Kind Of Love
What kind of love is this?
Can someone please tell me?
What kind of love is this?
I simply do not know
For a man to lay down his life
For the sins of every one
For a man to suffer so
For what he did not do
What kind of love is this?
Can someone please tell me?
What kind of love is this?
I simply do not know
I will call it divine love…
Oh Yes, I will call it divine love!
What kind of love is this?
Can someone please tell me?
What kind of love is this?
I simply do not know
For a king to leave his throne
To come to this wicked world
For a Lord to come down low
To save mere mortal men
What kind of love is this?
Can someone please tell me?
What kind of love is this?
I simply do not know
I will call is Agape love…
Oh yes, I will call it agape love!

RENEW 2
Listen
Your heart beats a melody
Listen
The world rejoices in novelty
Listen
You are here by another’s will
Listen
The Word is how you navigate this
Listen
You must be thirsty.
What drink would you love?
Water of life is always a great choice!
We live in the feelings of these little choices.
Live by choice.
Leave by choice
Regrets and bitterness in past 31
Lift by choice
Your spirits heights above where Jews lie
Leafy choices
Can be lost in this wind so hold tight
Newness is your guest today
Make the best of it
Dance!
When you can and can’t
You deserve presence,
Gift yourself the present of you
Now is a good time to live.
So dance, teach time to
Breathe, see, listen and feel
Make it wait on you.
