What Masks?

The masks represent the pretense we young people of nowadays arm ourselves with in the society.

Even online, and in front of our families;
few of us remain our true selves.

Then there is still the influence of our society on each of us, causing us to choose the version of ourselves that will let us survive.

Only God knows what I really look like.

The Pause

I have heard great people speak
Thank God someone kept a record of their speeches
I have listened to how their words string
And they never miss to take a pause and think

It is not a lack of words I hear
For their capacity have never been one to yield
Yet with the abundance of words to wield
They take a pause to care for what they speak

The way they hide years between their words
Tells me there is no rush to prove my worth
Tis better to have never uttered a word
If you would regret it because you didn’t take a pause

Silence Doesn’t Look Good on Me

S i l e n c e !

I have tried to speak up more, God
My mouth keeps scrambling for words it never used to ask
Several times tears rolled down my cheek
And my heart bursts out, living my body without life and my mind connected to you
If brokenness is a criterion for worship
Then I shouldn’t envision to be restored

I have lost shape within this box
Could you please look towards my direction this onetime?
This aggravated burden, pull
I am being drowned in confusion, I’m overwhelmed
Just this once respond
Please, no more silence, God!
It doesn’t look good on me

Rape Rep

I represent the biggest scums of the century.
I represent one of the greatest threats to women globally.

Your body is already a beautiful battlefield. A rose with thorns torn apart by it’s blueprint. It is not enough that your body cries rose-coloured tears monthly, some members of my gender have turned your pores into drawers for stashing away years of frustration. Tiny portals of escape, from which they seek prison-breakthroughs. Scofielding along your orchards, fuelled by animalistic passions.

Do something
That’s what I’m trying to say
Show me I am worth the pain, give me hope to a fault; tell me life has a meaning

That’s what I read in your diary
I am what you blame for dying, greet
One of the biggest
scum in existence
Women, they fear me
My favourite victims
…Men mostly in prison.
I am traumatizing

We’ve got a new brand for the parents
Comes with the power to pay rent
Found out I am recycling
Let’s leave the topic quietly
I’ve come from an old day
People started that way
Ignoring any volition
But theirs, until…

She Said No

She said NO,
He only wanted to have a degree to show,
But because of your presumed strength and power,
You took them down both in less than an hour.

You took Her innocence,
Without her consent,
Blamed it on her dress,
And your Mental illness.

You took his mama Pride,
Left him with no choice to decide,
Said he was black,
And his skin was dark.

To the rapist and racist,
You ain’t different from the terrorists,
They take peace with bombs and guns,
You take the innocence of our daughters and sons.

One day you will appear before the GROOM,
Give account of all those you made live in gloom.
How you killed the ones He created,
Just because of your lust and hatred.

Optimist Stare

I see the day so crystal clear
In the midst of the Darkness scare
I see the future, bright and fair
Though the glimpse of hope is rare

Threats of terror, here and there
Stampede seems to gain it’s flair
Foes and allies, set their snare
Hands on deck to throw the spear

As the hassle drags on near
I pray God’s guidance wraps our
sphere
And if my reflex detects fear
I dare my heart to face the Bear

When words of battle stirs the air
I breathe out peace to the atmosphere
Amidst the travails and despair
My eyes won’t lose the OPTIMIST STARE

Only God

Only God is good so I wore his vest
Shot like a bulletproof of his righteousness
So as far as being good at what you do goes
I’m a skilled word player

From Genesis
I can show how man lost his way playing house with one woman on that eve
How woman lost her feet to lizard-like creature
First-time human got scaled
And creature lost its feet

We got scaled and weighed nothing
Till a bullet was shot and it was a sho something
The goal was one man a piece
That was how he gave one man a peace

Me
So I am loaded
I’m a contraband under a cluster of clothes folded
Casting out unsuspecting devils and demons
That’s how I play with wards, men and women

Grace

Only you know the house I built
It’s your love that erases guilt
Humans point fingers past the point
But it is to you that we are joint
Faithful

Raise me up from the dust of my work
It’s your grace that makes me work
Life is like the sea to my boat of breath
But it is for you that it all exists
Selfless

After the storm you are still King
It is said that there is God in everything
I have faith and I’m counting results
But it is as Son that I walk the soils
Adventurous

No one heard the messages
It is us that forget things we’ve seen
Safety is vain for the immortal
But if I have family it’s one for all
Responsible

God over everybody
Leg-over the enemy
Laughter on my family
But sacrifices set the scene
True

Every time I trust in you
You seek me above the flu
Silence isn’t you ignoring
But I will listen to your echoing
Predestined
