RUNNING THROUGH THE YEARS…

Running through the years
I stopped to catch my breath
It sweetly seemed so long a race
That I couldn’t see the end of the years
The starting point was simply a memory
Because it had become a physical illusion
Practically, every past distance was erased
And it represented a forgotten place.
The beginning was gone, yet the future remained unseen
I could only but reflect on the past and focus on the future
Because the sudden days were running by…

In all, I craved for a better tomorrow
I noticed that in the panting under the elements of ‘hustle and bustle’
Being beaten by the strokes of discord
And constantly chased by the winds of temptations
All seemingly a part of the unending race.
However,in the heat of the race,I still looked fresh
Slowly and steadily running to my desired prize
When the nights came, I endured the darkness
Praying my way through the evil forces
Patiently waiting for the joy that cometh in the morning…

Honestly, I realised that I am not where I want to be
But at the same time,I’m not where I used to be
For the goodness of my own couldn’t lead me this far
But its only the grace of God that continuously strengthens me
Keeping me in His love that lasts forever..

Life itself is that race that we run either consciously or unconsciously…!
As for me,I will give honour to God for His help through the years
‘Cos when I recall my darkest nights and remember my deepest fears
I know I have a great story to tell…

IT’S NOT YOUR NATURE

We tend to give up on ourselves after fallin several times into the thick smelling mud of sin. And when we get up, we are still covered with the sticky sand, not knowing how to clean ourselves up, we blurt out in defeat; ‘we are all sinners afterall!’, ‘who amongst us is even witout sin?’, ‘we all hv demons dat we fight everyday’….and so on and so fort.
But, have you ever sat done to consider the matter?
If God said that; ‘people who are conceived and brought into life by ME don’t make a practice of sin. How could they? Its not in THE NATURE of my begotten to practice and parade sin’ 1john3:9(MSG)
Did you hear that? God is saying..How could you?! It is undastandable if a man who hasn’t accepted the lordship of Christ falls into sin and makes a practice of it. But not you! Its not in ur nature!
‘Could it be any clearer? Our old ways of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life. You are no longer at sin’s every beck and call !’ Romans6:11 (MSG).
Dear, you are no longer a slave to sin. Stop accepting defeats. Stand up and live d life that has been born into you through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Don’t make God a liar and make Jesus’ death useless by parading yourself in sin like a helpless child. Accepting the help of Jesus starts with a deep understanding of the fact that you are a new creature and sin is not your nature! Then approach the throne of grace with boldness and be rid of your sins.
Now don’t get me wrong, it is possible for a beliver to fall into sin without knowing, but makin a practice of it is absurd!
‘If you sin without knowing what you are doing, God takes that into account. But if you sin knowing full well what you are doing, that is a differnt story entirely.’ Romans2:12 (MSG)
So, dear child of God..make up your mind on this matter and stop dragging yourself in the mud of sin. Your will matters a lot in your destiny. You really need to discipline yourself and stay away from those things or those people that lead you to sin.
As I close this thought flowing in my mind, I want you to always remember that it is not in your nature to continue sinning! So says d Lord.
Finally..’Let God do His work in you. Yell a loud No to the devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and He will b there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the master; it is the only way you will get on your feet.’ James4:7-10 (MSG). Shallom!
