iN TEARs

On the street of sadness
I saw tears erupt from the abyss of troubled hearts and there was no glimpse of gladness
Just down the devil’s boulevard were young and old weeping in a sob
Their tears marching down like angry mobs
Sorrow hung in the air
And there was great shudder of fear
I watched men wriggle in a web of pain
Sulking in anguish as though insane
In a pitiable layer, it rested upon my soul
Such was the ill fate of man, the pain, his royal robe

Getting to my home,a hollow of void
Where confusion and emptiness forms a bond
Before my door stood the figures of horror
And every knock rapped sent shivers of terror
I let them in,yes I let my fears-the friends that haunt my soul
The same friends who end up leaving me in a state beyond console
A little while and they broke into a bitter song
All my failures in life their lyrics sung
And my tears which I had kept frozen
Began to spill down a dozen

Catching cold in the hottest temperature
I began to paint an empty future
In that jinx, a gentle voice whispered to me
“What do you think could end this misery?”
With a scornful grin I answered,”It is not a mystery
But a knife to pierce my heart, a dangling rope over my neck”
Alas! I received echoes of cries piercing the dark
And the wind of despair filled every crack
“Why the lamentations?” I inquired
HEAVEN IS IN TEARS

Yes we all cry at thy feeble tries
Why do you choose to end this way
And victory you have almost given away
Take a walk ! I obeyed with my head hung in resign
And my unpleasant friends still stuck right behind
Silence sang like a sad music
Yet stretching before me was an archive of greeneries
The earth hung limp with an air of victory
And the moon glowed like sleeping beauty
Amidst starry sky, lost in awe of the creator

I floated in the wonder of his supreme majesty
“What do you see?”that same voice came again
“Divine ability” I confessed as awe filled my heart as my eyes gazed
The cloud opened and roared “oh ye of little faith…

“…do ye not know that ye are Gods?!”

Upon my forehead broke out the oil of realization
As I basked in the beauty of a new dawn
For in men lies the DNA of Jehovah
Shining in my hands was the glittering sword of believe
YES! the believe that I possess the victorious and creative capacity of my father in me
In the steps of triumph,
I charged towards my unpleasant friends to slay them with my sword
But alas!! They had taken to their heels!!

I have so long thought about this to me it’s no longer news
How could I succeed if all I have is a retrospective view?
Why should I complain when I so willingly stay glued
To the same thoughts, the same actions, the same words, the same friends I once knew
How could I expect a different result if I couldn’t change my perspective and view
If I can’t conceive and believe I’ll never achieve says Napoleon Hill reference Google
So I guess someone here has been just like me
I know you try so hard I’m sure it’s a hard place to be
But before you take one more step as you write your own history
Give me a moment to transform your beliefs with my poetic mastery Continue reading

OFFENSE!

I see you all looking like a bunch of tax collectors. “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you. For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?”
So there I have it, proof!! Bunch of tax collectors; because while you live your lives strapped to your seats, belts on waists looking all cute and manly, freckled faces with oink wears dressed up pretty, you forget pretty soon(that is if you even notice) how cunning the devil really is. Let me enlighten you on what you should already be well aware of Continue reading

WORSHIP: A new view!

Worship ain’t just what we think it is.

You see it’s not about songs with a certain beat or a lot of names you’ve crammed from the bible; well it goes way deeper than that. It’s an expression of something that even the brightest minds cannot fathom. It finds its roots in a unique love relationship that can only exist between a man and God. Although it may be expressed in different ways such as music (Psalm 98, Psalm 69:30), way of life (Job 1:8), offering (1 Kings 3:3-4), poetry as well as prayers but none of these expresses the entity of this ambiguous term. Hence, to get a better understanding it will be wise to refer back into its roots, its source.

be BOLD!

If it doesn’t feel right,
don’t do it.
If its not true,
don’t say it.
If it doesn’t cover you up,
don’t wear it.
If it will hurt a soul,
don’t utter it.
If its not noble,
don’t act it.
If its not pure,
don’t think it.
If its porn,
don’t watch it.
If its not biblical,
don’t believe it.
If its not real,
don’t fake it.
If it will kill your dream,
don’t allow it.
If its disorderly,
don’t follow it.
If its not genuine,
reject it.
If Jesus can’t do it,
don’t do it.
If its the devil,
rebuke him!

PENSPEAK 2014

Every once in a while we as humans are challenged, not by any one but by our very own selves. We are challenged by our own ideas, dreams, plans and hopes to break out of the norm and do something outrageous, exciting and in most cases bigger than ourselves. This I believe is the greatness God has innately placed in each and every one of us calling out for freedom and expression. If we cage this longing, if we hold back in a bid to stay safe in our comfort zones, we do not only withhold our talents and amazing visions, we hold others too and we starve the world of a little more of God.
The vision of the Christ-a-Poet Team started out as a blog for inspiring as many as possible through an assortment of rhymes and literary master pieces and by October this year, this vision would have run successfully for two years with outcomes beyond expected and an ever growing community of followers. This in itself is a ground breaking testimony and all the credit goes to the Lord God Almighty.
However, in this season God has laid in our hearts a new step to take in the propagation of His word in our own special way. In the simplest way put I’m referring to Spoken word. We seek to harness our talents not only on-line but also with people we can see and directly communicate with. This project is called PENSPEAK and by the grace is aimed at reviving our world, one word at a time. Currently, the program is to go nationwide in Nigeria and to be hosted in Universities across the nation. The maiden edition is to hold at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka campus!
The theme of this edition is REVELATIONS. Frankly speaking, that sounds really cool, but beyond that one most important things God wants to achieve in our lives is the way we see things. A dear pastor once said that you don’t see things the way they are but by the way you are. This points to the fact that your overall view has a whole lot to do with your personality, character, decisions amongst other things all of which God is very interested in. When God makes known to a man his way of seeing things or doing things it is commonly referred to as a “revelation”, hence the theme of the program. We seek to use these talents God has given us to shape not only the minds of our audience but ours too in the course of this project.
So far plans are going great and the need for sponsorship (as in funds or more directly “money”) cannot be underestimated however writers, artists, musicians, dancers are already at work to bring their very best to this year’s edition of Penspeak. Publicity has already begun on twitter using these hash-tags: #REVELATIONS 2014 #PENSPEAK 2014. Also, on our facebook page: The Christ A Poet Team. Radio and printed publicity will only take place in the environs of Enugu state to minimize cost and maximize potential.
