EVERYDAY JESUS

I was working on a script needed to be presented on an upcoming event at church. Paying rapt attention to the task I was so engaged in; my junior sister came by munching at her food after taking a seat by the table. I glanced at her when a silly idea popped in my head.

“Hey” I called.

“Why don’t you try writing something for me”.

Although she was thirteen, writing was never her thing so it was no surprise she broke into a convulsive laughter.

“You are joking right?”

“Give it a try”, I said coaxing her into accepting. She shrugged.

“Topic?”, she inquired as I handed over a paper and pen to her.

“Love”, I responded.

She managed a wide grin and began working. Within 30 seconds she was done! She handed over the piece to me amusement lighting her eyes. Just as I guessed; it was indeed arrant nonsense. I held back the laughter trying to escape my throat when I read something that struck me. It read thus:

” You might find no sense why Christ was beaten and battered for your sakes yet he took no offense! This is because love is sacred. It is beyond a physical passion but a spiritual compassion”

For some split seconds I was lost in amazement. That had never come to me! Arching a surprised brow; I drew her attention.

“How on earth did you do that? I really was surprised.”

“What do you take me for? A dummy? Anyways I had no idea of what I should write but I had faith that something would come out good. You talented peeps so over look people! God sometimes ain’t looking for people with mega abilities but a humble and yielded vessel, He will use.”, responded my sister.

“Hmm you taught me today”  I said and she broke into smiles.

I never had known she could be so sagacious. I then realized that sometimes God might not work through the qualified; but he qualifies the chosen. Conclusively no man is an island and every soul you meet out there is beautiful and special.

God bless!

PAUSE… THINK… CONNECT!!!

It takes great sensitivity and discretion to discern and understand everything that goes on in our life. And for a world of this kind that we live in, situations come up every now and then. Some come to fulfill what has already been said; to correct wrongs already done; to avert intending danger or even create more danger; to teach and make us better persons. But always realize that no situation is above you. Rising above them is what seems almost impossible for us.

However, understanding  the situation at hand for more discrete decisions to be taken requires great patience and sensitivity. Sometimes, mistakes are often made thus lounging one into worse state than one already is which further leads to shame, feelings of inadequacy, regrets and even more pain and confusion. So, pause and then think.

As Christians we should always understand that nothing happens outside the knowledge of God and that he permits something to happen, is not without reasons – that makes Him supreme. His reasons are sure without doubts and ultimate. So, being spiritually connected keeps you at peace first with God, yourself and the situation at hand. This connection helps us to know what to do and how to about what to do. The end results always bring joy. So, it takes spiritual connectivity to be sensitive and obedience.

Pause to understand the situation at hand; Think to know the lessons to learn from them; Connect to know exactly what to do and how to do what to do. There is no need rushing into rash and hasty conclusions. Learn to be rational, yet, yielding both to issues and God most importantly.

Matt 1:19-21; Joseph, her fiance, was a good man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly. As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, ” do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”

Hmmm…

Morning all, as I write this I actually have a lot running through my mind that I don’t even know how to express it the way I truly feel. That’s why the title is quite weird  I must admit.

My devotion today talked about the consequence of not striving hard enough in the Christian faith, that is serving HIM for so long and giving up when it matters most, that is at the tail end of their service or when they are about to be rewarded by GOD for their service on earth. The love of many have and are really waxing cold, several that have toiled in the vineyard have and are still missing out on Heaven and the only reason for that is ???? You answer it yourself.

Men and brethren we really, really, really have to wake up and realize this ‘cos the earlier we realize it the better. Casting crowns said in their song “Slow fade ” that “people never crumble in a day, families never crumble in a day” and I tell you our faith, believe and hope in Christ does not crumble in a day. Let us all be careful and cautious.

Also, recently I saw the obituary of a young man and it brought me back to what I talked about earlier. This young man died in an accident, but I didn’t come to tell of who died and who didn’t, rather it was more or less this young man’s rapture that took place then and

Did he plan for it?
Was he ready for it?
Did he make it?
Where is he now?

If the answer of the first three questions are yes, what of the last one? That one I definitely can’t give an answer as I don’t even know the person in question personally. What I am just trying to say is that Heaven and Hell are very real and the earlier we start preparing, the better.

For those of us that say we are Christians, what have we done or what are we doing towards bringing the rest who don’t know HIM to a realization of the truth? Remember Mark 16:15, that is a direct instruction from the master (Jesus) himself. We have a lot on our hands as the World is coming to an end and most importantly; JESUS IS COMING SOON.
PEACE!
