Justified to Hurt

I lay down quietly in a boy’s only lodge as about 5 other young men spoke of love and ladies, one guy in particular told the heart wrenching story of how he loved a girl, so much and so truly and how she later left him simply because of another guy who had more money to offer, you could tell the hurt in his heart, he said he couldn’t get over her for months, he confessed there in the confines of us guys, that he truly loved with all his heart, and she broke it with all her might. Having been so wronged he explained how he could now without remorse play with any girls heart he could get his hands on, he knew the words, he knew the motions, he knew how to get in, get what he wanted and get out, without bathing an eyelash. In some mis-configured part of his brain he figured he was justified to hurt others as long he was pleased simply because he himself was once hurt.

Do you remember secondary school and particularly if you were in the boarding school? What was the number one reason SS3 students gave for acting cruelly to junior students? ‘Because they did it to me when I was a junior student!’, that was and still is the main plea by many, because as junior student some senior student took their foodstuffs they are now collecting foodstuffs from the entire student body!

It’s like the old an eye for an eye, but remember an eye for an eye sooner or later leaves everyone blind. There’s something in the average human’s subconscious that tends to do to others what have been done to them, that’s why the molester today was most likely abused as a child. It’s a vicious self-supporting cycle, running through generations and even ages.

It’s like the old an eye for an eye, but remember an eye for an eye sooner or later leaves everyone blind.

But yet the reverse is also the case; As a Jambito several years ago, I went to the newly established Federal university, Oye-Ekiti to write the screening exam required to gain entrance. I entered pari passu the setting sun, with little money, no friends and no contact, I had no place to stay and the stories of bandits who prowled at night did not in any way comfort me. Not too sure what to do I went out of the school compound and sighting some young men close by I went up to one of them and simply asked who I could meet for some sort of accommodation, he told me to follow him, he walked me into a room in a joint condo of sorts, pointed a bed and told me to stay there. To cut the short story shorter, I along with few other stranded Jambito’s ended up becoming buddies for the next 3 days of our stay all at no charge, no cost and no hidden agenda. I asked him later on why his magnanimity to us strangers, he answered simply ‘he was once a Jambito and someone took him in!’.

You see, cruelty of many ages can end in one generation, if the last person to contract Aids was the last person to spread it, HIV/ADIS would be only found in the history books in just one generation. You see you have a choice, you’re not just a biological psychological creature who’s actions and reactions are cast in stone based on the hand life deals you. You can let the hurt you suffered snare you into hurting others or you can break out of the mold like so many others have and change the culture that tried to change you from something beautiful to a shadow of your true self. We’re never justified to hurt because we were hurt, no matter the form, it’s a warped way of thinking that leaves everyone bleeding. You can break out of it, you can start a new cycle, you can set the new patterns for your children and your children’s children and the world at large. We have enough bad news to go around twice, we have enough victims who victimize and troubled people who trouble people. Let the pain motivate you to make a difference, not to even the score on people who were never in the picture in the first place.

We’re never justified to hurt because we were hurt

It was Jesus who brought the radical idea of loving your enemies and even praying for them, imagine; praying for the thief who stole from you, loving the idiot who swerved at 130km/hr in front of you on the highway while making a call, forgiving that guy who used you and dumped you. I admit, these are noble ideals too high for the vast majority of us, maybe that’s why Jesus offers to walk with us as we walk through the hurt, and he will, that is, if we let him.

It may not be popular, you may feel out of place, you may be called a fool, but the freedom from the hurt is in repaying it with love. And truly as it has been said; it’s love that makes the world go round.

…the freedom from the hurt is in repaying it with love

#EVERYDAYJESUS is our encyclopedia (UC Truth)

Let me show you what happened to you when you believed in Jesus

‘Just one thing’
Follow through
NLT 1Cor 2
7 No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began.
[A wisdom was PREVIOUSLY hidden (past tense)]

8 But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord.
[They didn’t understand it, the devils are not as smart as you think]

So if you are not a believer but a professor, you are being controlled by the spirit of disobedience, hence…

Ephesians 2
1 Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. 2 You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.
[Commander of the powers in the unseen world
He is the spirit at work in people’s hearts………. But not everyone’s heart

Let’s go back to Paul’s letter to The Corinthians. We have seen that a wisdom was HIDDEN previously; Meaning it has been revealed

To who??

First; 1Cor 2:9 NLT
9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.

[This scripture is often used for believers, be careful]

Read in context, next verse clears it

”10 But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.”

So when someone comes along and says ‘eyes have not seen’
And is talking to a believer

Most times they think on a material thing or a promise God is ‘YET’ to fulfil…

That’s not what the bible teaches!!

It says, those things that EYES cannot see, have been revealed to us.
That why John wrote this:
1John 1 NLT

1 We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. 2 This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.

[The MYSTERY the world couldn’t understand is fulfilled in one person, CHRIST!!]

God is no more ‘mysterious’ to you.

And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.
When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others.

For, “Who can know the LORD’s thoughts?
Who knows enough to teach him?”
But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

The revelation is the message of Christ.
That’s what was and is still HID – Not to those who haven’t heard but to those that has not believed.

Lastly, Paul admonished;
2 Cor 4 NLT

2 We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this.
3 If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing.

4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
5 You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake.

…Then down to the verse….

13 But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, “I believed in God, so I spoke.”14 We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you.

15 All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.

[That’s how God benefits and takes Glory
In Christ being preached, his authority been exercised.]

We have the same spirit of Faith (mystery revealed)
We have believed, so we speak

We are not in a cloud of ignorance.
What happens is God is not stereotyped,
He is diverse…….

Hence spiritual things are taught…Paul taught the Corinthian church.

That’s what we get better acquainted with as we are taught. There are things that you open a believers eyes to and they are able to walk better in their authority.

See? Christ’s love explained!!

Eph 3 NLT
7 By God’s grace and mighty power, I have been given the privilege of serving him by spreading this Good News.
8 Though I am the least deserving of all God’s people, he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ.

9 I was chosen to explain to everyone this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning.

Scriptures don’t contradict

The mystery of God is in one person fulfilled and preached, CHRIST. Read carefully,
God’s mystery was revealed through us.

That’s when the principalities learnt the mystery,
The wisdom of God

10 God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.

11 This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.

14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.

Now let me show you a secret to power, its funny too….
It strengthens you not to quit, and enables you to work at the same time

19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Experiencing God’s Love…
Many believers don’t see God as Love.

Now that’s the one thing I have seen that bible says is ‘TOO GREAT’ to ‘FULLY’ understand.

This explains why I haven’t seen one person who ‘fully’ walks in God’s power like Jesus did. Open yourself up to God’s love
A Christian is someone who receives freely from God.

If you have to ‘pay’ for it……

That’s why I tell people academic excellence is not received from God, Because you work to pass.

And unbelievers are graduating with first class too.
Yet they have not received it from God?!

Jesus didn’t die so you become the president.

However if you become the president, don’t stop preaching and saving men.

Use your sphere, popularity, influence, strength and even weaknesses to peach how mighty one person is

Remember the wisdom we know of a mystery that used to be

We preach Him.
And this wisdom is brought through the Spirit we have received

I am saved
I am righteous
I have God’s wisdom

Glory to God

The Almond Fruit (Symolean Goodest)

The Almond tree in front of Ajanwachukwu Hostel has never stopped reminding me that the platitude, “opportunity comes but once”, is nothing but a fallacy meant to dissuade milksops from working harder when their attempt ends in the annals of failures.
The leaves steaming life reminds me of the enthusiasm that once burnt my heart. It was the perfect depiction of the future I always wanted on the tree; the kind of future where I am the perfect description of “blessed”; where wealth transcends these alien physicalities that get men disenchanted. It was the kind of future that you’d always wish ends up like the story of Cinderella ( not that I ever had the early Cinderella life though).
I looked at the stem and the ugliness my eyes greeted was this ash-coloured, bland looking thing that is nowhere better than the remains of a burnt car. That was my story, you know. I flew from one stage of fame to another; had a syzygy of successes only to crash land in the desert of confusion not quite far from the Sahara Desert. It was a me, myself and I struggle. I looked at the apex of this ever life steaming tree only to find out that I was now nowhere close to the first sheet of leaves that I had been on. I wished that I had at least ended up there instead of this grace to grass travel. I despaired seeing other fruits miles above me; some close to the apogee of this tree; freely seeing things miles away from the gaze of the tree. I could see flowers sprouting out on various parts of the tree announcing that new fruits would soon be in the making. The tree growing in beauty, offering more shade to people who seeked protection from the never ending torment of the sun; yet, I was lying helplessly on the cold ground begging that another opportunity be given to me to be attached to this mighty tree where fruits flourish. I wished that I was not the one that has turned gray; that I was the one hanging and dancing to the violin played by the wind and that I was still green waiting to get ripe one day…… I could see the constant repetition of beds of leaves and wonder why the tree had the privilege of creating such a feature at intervals yet nothing could be done to get me fixed once again to this tree that I cherished. It was not as though I fell off the tree on my own; the wind had viciously blown me away and the tree never cared to tighten it’s grip of me even when I pleaded not to be let go of.
I believed what I heard the ladies that passed by were saying. One of them that deftly daubed her face with different shades of make-up had told the churchy-looking one to take hold the opportunity that had come her way to have this man of her dream in her life and stamped her opinion with the fact that opportunity comes but once.
that was when I gave up the fight. I need not try again Afterall, even humans understand that opportunity is transient and can only last as long as the external beauties of ladies.
So, when the other fruits got ripe and served as the delight of children who showered stones on the tree, I was still found fighting decay. But the rain surprised me. I burgeon a new life. Now, I am a young Almond tree.

Hope you got the moral. Every works together for our good

#EVERYDAYJESUS is our state of origin

1 John  3:9

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”

There is a “for” and a “because” in that verse. They give the reason why they don’t commit sin. After the first statement about committing sin, you should see that the second one is actually something like this: and he cannot COMMIT SIN …. BECAUSE…(His mouth will hang if he tries to lie?”)
Because he is born of God

His seed being in you is the guarantee of never sinning.

Sin, there, is to not have his seed in you. Sin there is to not be born of him. The one born of him cannot sin because a birth cannot be reversed

It is a matter of IMPOSSIBILITY.

I have been disappointed before. I know how it feels to pray and fast day after day for something and not get it. I know what it means to want something so bad, to hope for it so much and even start preparing for its arrival and nothing happens. I know what it feels when our “faith” fails (more like presumption because faith never fails when we  believe God for what He said he would do). I wondered why He didn’t answer until I stumbled across some passages that pointed out the reasons I didn’t get what I want.
First, James 4:2 says “You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.” Have you gotten on your knees to pray for what you’re so bothered about and if you have, James 4:3 says, “You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.” What are your motives? To show off? To please other people? Or just because others are asking and you don’t want to feel left out? What are your motives?
1 John 5:14 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” Note: According to His will. When we ask God for something and He does not give us because it is not according to His will, we start to blame Him and make Him seem wicked. He wants the best for us. We should ask God to help us to pray according to His will. 1 John 5:15 says, “And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. Remember Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please God…” We should rely on God totally without having any Plan B. Did I just say that? Well, yes, I did because a Plan B means God might fail. GOD DOES NOT FAIL. He should be the first one we run to when we have crisis and not an uncle we believe has money to give us or the drugs at the pharmacy or a friend for advice.
So, if we pray about our issues with the right motives, according to God’s will, believing He has heard us and that He will answer in His time, there will be no room for disappointments.

Invasion 2016

Let me tell you about poetry
Sea shores swirling serenading sore
Shapes stuck on sweetness’ soot soar
Seedlings of self sown as eyes set on shooting stars
Step back a bit and you’ll see
Pieces of people pooled  peculiarly together
To peer past two, no… more pens as they paint their peaks
At the power of the Prince of Peace
The bursting ecstasy of fulfillment it gives
Curled up in the loins of our hearts
The beauty to be unleashed
Let me tell you about Penspeak
Lights, stage, words…
The fiery blasts of the tips of our pens
Spilling words that cut through thick and thin
Thick and thin…
We are planning an invasion
Taking over situations
Making ways to conquer nations
To plunder every heart
Raid all senses till all you have left
Are just lenses shading away all false gists
Twin towers watching over mines
Gems hidden underneath the earth’s eyes
Sprouting out ferns of love budding into guarded commentaries
Bearing forth fruits of truth
Worthily wielding swords of truth
Words of wisdom cladding our hopeful youths
The vision of wickedness put to shame by truth’s warden
Not wandering in the worldly vices
Not stumbling in ungodly crisis
We repping the ever-living justice
Our mission an unending message
We have got high frequencies
Connected to the heavenly chassis
Heavenly insights giving hope
To faithful attendants of our teachers directives
Unleavened loaves of purity
Expanding the waves of charity
Let me tell you about Penspeak
Lights, stage, words…
One mic, One message, One God.
