Awesome…Awesome Session again!

27th October came and left as a day of change for all who were in attendance.

With an atmosphere made ready in Worship and prayer. The Teaching Session began with Pst. Segun Abe. He was apt to mention how the richest man that ever lived- King Solomon, had the word ‘Vanity’ so prevalent in his life. Solomon was richer than David, yet David was happier than Solomon. Why? David was described as a man after God’s heart (1Sam 13:14); similar to instructions he gave to Solomon to follow (1Kings 2:1-3). Unfortunately, it seem to be his latter end that Solomon saw wisdom in the advice his dad gave him. (Eccl 12:13).

Another long-awaited School Of Impact has come. The Venue fully packed with believers with a strong desire to hear God.

Before the message by Pst. Segun Abe was a session of intense worship by the Music Team. This thickly led all into the presence of God, with His aura felt truly!

The time for the teaching session commenced. It was the topic- ‘THE JOURNEY…How To Run Your Race’. Pst. Segun Abe began by leading all in another worship session, with many hands lifted up to heaven. In commencing the sermon proper, he led the people to the Bible Passage for the sermon- Mathew 2:1-12, about the Wise men and their Journey to ‘baby Jesus’. Using this scripture, he outlined Five factors during their journey that helped them reach their ‘Calling’ successfully.

As a number of men have recently blogged on the plague of pornography, and offered help for protecting your family and redeeming your life from it (see Tim Challies, “The Porn-Free Family“; Eric Simmons, “I Hate Porn“; John Piper, “Pornography: The New Narcotic“), I thought I would join with these other brothers and offer another piece of arsenal in the fight.  Below is a re-posting, slightly edited, of a piece I wrote a while back that employs the strategy of prophets like Isaiah who used satire to try to help people see their sin.  Only as men see pornography for the false worship it is and turn to the living God will they find freedom and life.
