Acquiring a skill is a great decision that demands a lot of discipline. However permitting this skill to call the shots in other areas of your life is in itself an anomaly!

SUBSTITUTES

So here’s a pretty simple riddle:
How many small letter “a”(s) would you need to get a capital letter “A”?

If you were typing a document with a computer system you might as well hit on the “a” key a million times and you still will not get a capital letter “A” up until you turn on the CAPS lock button!

Here in lies the greatest and most recurrent trick the devil ever played on us all. SUBSTITUTES.

When one is really thirsty, no matter the amount of liquids at the disposal of that individual, he would still need water to quench his thirst. Now it doesn’t matter that all these other liquids actually contain water, he’ll still need just water to feel really refreshed but if there is none in sight he’ll have to keep on trying these “substitutes” and no matter how many tries he’ll only get real satisfaction when he gets the real deal: CLEAN WATER.

Just like thirst we all possess needs and it is these needs that in most cases drive our actions and decisions all to one primary goal: SATISFACTION.

Now this did not spring up out of the blues and note this, we were not created this way, it was the sin of the first Adam and Eve that set us all for an infinite search for fulfillment and satisfaction. However, just like thirst the moment we lost sight of the “original” no amount of substitutes would get us the satisfaction we so crave.

But Our Father in heaven was and is so loving, He would provide a saving grace for us all(with our consent of course). In His Son Jesus Christ, He provided a gateway back to Himself cos truth be told all we ever needed was and is in Him. It is no mystery really, after all He made us but this truth in all its simplicity is presently Devil’s most kept secret!

You see he(devil) wants to keep you away from the original so he’ll keep providing you with unending suggestions to keep you lusting and ultimately under his control cos he knows if you don’t get the original or he convinces you into believing the original is way too “boring” you’ll always be coming for more cos you’ll never be satisfied.

This is the underlying concept that fuels addictions. In a bid to attain a certain “high” we allow intake of elements that we know are harmful to us because every time and again we feel this “high” will do it for us. Sadly when we encounter this much desired ecstasy, to our dismay, it doesn’t last forever and sooner than we expected we are back and we have sunk even lower so much so we are again out and about looking for the next substitute to get us that short glimpse of “heaven” and that one ultimate desire; SATISFACTION.

Unfortunately, we would never be satisfied cos the devil who willingly provides us with all these substitutes does not have true satisfaction. He may have thousands of really good look-a-likes but he ain’t got the original because that has been patented to God Almighty and Him alone. Now the devil knows this and it is what puts him(devil) on edge because if you ever encounter true satisfaction you would have no need for his substitutes a.k.a sins and then he has lost out on taking you to hell along with him.

Know this, he(devil) will never stop providing substitutes by the millions and proof to that is the wealth and growth of the tobacco and pornography industries amongst a host of many others so its no wonder that the older generation will always refer back to the good old days.

This is more than an article you are reading. This is your deliverance. God is standing by with so much love he is just waiting to share and all He is waiting for, is your consent. So again I ask:

How many substitutes would you need to get an original?

EXCERPTS OF THE TEACHING: ORIGINALITY… Understanding the Mystery of Difference AT SCHOOL OF IMPACT, 9TH NOVEMBER 2014.

ok i aint kidding! you better read this. like seriously!

Pastor Segun began the message on Originality with the scripture Luke 2:21-33, explaining that there is someone you are that you don’t know and that people around you don’t know. The God that put you in the womb knows you better than the mother that carried you in the womb.

The problem is, as humans begin to grow, we are constantly under the influence of those who never knew us; so our lives are being lived daily under the influence of
those who are unaware of what we really are. There is someone
you are that even the people closest to you don’t have an idea of, but unfortunately, we are most influenced by those closest to us;
better said, we are most influenced by those who don’t even know who we are.

He further went on to explain the difference between Influence
and Obedience. He explained that Obedience is…

WWF: Exploring The Mind Of Christ (Part II)

WWF3.jpg

Let me begin by saying our spirit (heart) is constantly exposed to God’s Spirit, because at new-birth experience, it becomes one with the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17 says, “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” Our spirit is our innermost being. Our spirit is quickened in the Holy Ghost when we sincerely give our life to Jesus Christ.

Whereas our mind still continues to have contact with this present wicked world. No matter how repented we have been and how holy our heart has become, our mind will still continue to have romance with this world, through our physical senses (tasting, smelling, touching, seeing and hearing), which have direct contact with the physical world.

This is the reason why we must take the renewal of our mind very very serious. We must give it all it takes, as long as we remain in this mortal body, even by the help of the Holy Spirit. For without the Holy Spirit we can do nothing.

Now if we give up renewing our mind every time, we stand the danger of falling into our old sinful way and life, even with our regenerated heart (the new spirit given us).
Here is even the main danger: if we don’t still get our mind renewed, we will come into a place, where sin will begin to serve as cancer, spreading from our mind to our heart, which has become new in Christ Jesus. And as this continues, there may or will come a time when our heart will become so bad, that we will begin to make expensive wrong choices again. And since God always respects every man’s choice, we may happen to make a wrong choice that will cost us eternal life with God, and not repent or even get a chance to, turn back from it until death catches up with us. (God forbid we end up in hell.)

And since God is called the “I AM THAT I AM,” meaning, He is the God of now, and not of the past, nor future. He doesn’t have past, nor future, but only now. Then it means, it is the present choice, which we have made, that we will be judged upon. Then shall Ezekiel 33:13 and 18 be fulfilled, which says,
“When I (God) shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousness shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.”
“When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, he shall e
ven die thereby.”

Ephesians 5:5-6 says,
“For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.”

This is why it is possible for somebody that is saved today to wind up in hell tomorrow. In 1 Corinthians 9:27, Apostle Paul says, ” But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a cast away.”
And that is why Jesus Christ said, we have to deny ourselves, carry our cross and then daily follow Him, Luke 9:23.

And how do we follow Jesus? We follow Him by following His mind that we have received in us. 1 Corinthians 2:16 says, “… But we have the mind of Christ.” And this mind of Christ can only be properly effective when we have the Word of God abiding in us. “Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee,” Psalms 119:11.

Prayer:
O God, help me remain in You to the very end. Let the Mind of Jesus overrule in me always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God bless
