Picture this!

A very angry guy sitting out in the balcony, the temperature at nearly freezing depths and its Sunday morning.

Well I guess, this abstract painting i just carried out in your mind might not satisfy your expectations but it really did happen and the victim was me. Now for security reasons I am going to refrain from specifying the exact date it happened. lol!

So that fateful Sunday morning, I was to wake up as early as possible to make it for service since I am a worker in church and apparently that’s how we roll! So I did make up my mind I was going to go to church early but unfortunately, unknown to me, my elder brother had also made up his mind to make sure I get to church early. It’s a lonely empty world out there!

Sure it makes no sense to your ears

‘cos statistics hold sufficient claim to a certain 7 billion souls walking the globe

Yet like my creator all I see is a big void

An empty nothingness, wish I could call forth the brightness like He did but I’m no Edison

No! I simply do not have that capacity, I am an inductor

You see the very same curse that robs this world of its fullness

is what right now invades my consciousness

I am living proof to the thick darkness that lurks in obvious sight

A 24-year old boy looking out through a train’s window shouted, “Dad, look, the trees are going behind; they are moving very fast” his Dad simply stared at him with so much joy and smiled! A young couple seated nearby looked at the 24-year old and thought to themselves, he’s so grown up but so childish, he must have a mental disorder for his father not to be bothered.
Suddenly the young man exclaimed again; “Dad, look, the clouds are running with us” the couple could not hold the thought any longer and suggested to the old man, “why don’t you take your son to a good doctor may be a psychiatrist?”
The old man smiled and said “I just did. We are just coming from a doctor but not a psychiatrist; we are just coming from the hospital. My son was blind from birth. He just got his sight today for the very first time, his behavior may seem stupid to you, but it’s more than a miracle to me.” The young couple just sat down there, lost for words with a mixture of tears and shame in their eyes.

Everybody on earth has a story; don’t judge people so fast or jump into conclusion about their private affairs; you don’t know where they are coming from or what they have to deal with. The truth behind their story might surprise you. Take it easy with others, even if you have a perfect life.

What are the things that do not make you a member of the body of Christ?

What are the requirements for membership in the Lord’s church?

THINGS THAT DO NOT MAKE YOU A MEMBER OF THE LORD’S CHURCH.
1. Simply believing that Jesus is the Son of God does not grant you membership in the Lord’s church.
Mark 5:1-12 …..7…“What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God?….12 The demons implored Him….
Demons believe that Jesus is the Son of God, however, that does not give them membership in the Lord’s church. Legion was not part of the body of Christ.
2. Sprinkling infants with water does not make them part of the body of Christ. Sprinkling unbelieving babies is not an act that adds them to the Lord’s church.

One of the most interesting things about the Christian race is how you don’t get it all at once. What I mean is, the moment you give your life to Christ trust me a lot has already changed within you and if you haven’t yet please do (You are missing a lot!). However, just like the bible says “…his mercies are new every morning”, all who have dared to seek a relationship with this awesome God can confess how amazingly new this experience seems to be everyday. Like we used to say when I was younger, one could read a verse from the bible for a whole year and get 365 different understanding from that one verse (supposing the person is very honest and hungry for more of God). Funny thing is he or she would have still not exhausted the wealth of knowledge in that one verse. Now, this seems much like a fallacy of generalization but what can I say, give it a try!

Unfortunately sometimes we tend to fall short of our part in this relationship and in the end, we miss out on amazing opportunities spiritually and in our daily lives. I know this because I have fallen prey to this several times (nothing I am proud of!) and now I know better. One of such occasions was a fateful morning on my way to work. I had entered a commercial vehicle that should convey me to a central area from where I’d continue to my office. As I settled in, I couldn’t help but notice how loud the driver was. At first, he seemed to have been in some sought of conversation with the other passengers but was distracted by some driving stunts other fellow drivers were putting out and he began shouting at them, obviously angry. I am not a fan of loud people so needless to say I was already uncomfortable but that was soon to be the least of my worries. Continue reading →
